A list of puns related to "Levellers discography"
No reason. was bored and saw nobody did matts music yet, so i did it. Not only did I do all of Mattโs music (except for Two Lovely Uncles and Nathanโs Christmas because TLU wouldnโt work and Nathanโs Christmas would be a bitch to do) but I included some extra goodies!
If you like these maps, I have a lot more I made using the site, a lot of Weezer, some limp Bizkit, gorillaz. Iโll probably make those available to the public too because they are really fun maps.

The majority of them have Hard, Normal, and Expert difficulty, with the exception of Come Over and Feel This Way
Songs are: All of Ouch!, covid 19 type beat, NO NUT NOVEMBER, Monopoly, Bored, DTF, and Two Straight Best Friends Enjoying Some Hooters, Iโm in love with my dad, fuddruckers rap.
lmk what you guys think!
Iโll post some videos of each of the songs on YouTube later.
Also, if Mack and Ryeman see this, love you silly goofs. :)))))
Edit 1: DTF and hooters song doesnโt work, working on a fix rn
Edit 2: DTF and Hooters song has been fixed. Im In Love With My Dad and Fuddruckers song have been added
Edit 3: Margie has been added.
Not really a big rant just gonna keep it short they have like 5 title tracks so far and 3 of them are remake/cover ๐
Forever was a cover cause of SM tradition of first comeback being a cover, alright.
Next level was a cover too. Now dreams come true too? Only Black mamba and savage are their original songs. Idk aespa deserves original songs than just remaster/remakes tbh
Edit 1: I'm aware that they're not their "technical" comebacks but my point still stands. Other artists get original songs for sm station projects or whatever why can't aespa? It may not be THE comeback but it's still like a mini comeback or atleast other artists get original songs
Edit 2: Some of y'all are taking this post negatively I'm not overreacting I'm just pointing out the number of remakes they've put out for a short span of time they've stepped into the industry is a bit overwhelming. They're not just sampled bits but full on remake. Not that there is anything wrong with it just would prefer seeing original songs by them even for mini projects. And I know the songs on their EP, some of u are pointing it out as if I don't know. I'm talking about songs that have an M/V and choreography and everything. The songs that they perform, not really the b-sides
Their debut was like two years ago and they already put out so many bops. I'm not even Atiny but I really appreciate so many of their B-Sides together with my other K-Pop irls. I love almost every song of them. Outside of Atiny their aren't many mentions but I'm going to list you all those bops on my playlist:
Like for real, many groups would use their B-Sides as title tracks. They already released such masterpieces and I can't wait to see what they will release in the future
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
This might be a bit weird of a CMV post because it's a bit difficult to rationalize. That is, I recognize that the Beatles were a very influential band, and on a purely objective level, I do think their music is very good. But personally, their music just isn't very special to me. There is no Beatles song that I get super pumped about listening to. To be clear, I've listened to much of their discography, but not in order (like listening to an album start to finish).
Common wisdom might be to just move on with my life and accept that the Beatles just aren't for me. But I do really want to like their music as I do personally enjoy a lot of 20th century music, of which the Beatles is a pretty defining sound.
Edit: okay so I'm realizing that this is a pretty dumb post, and that this is pretty much a 100% subjective view. And I don't really see myself changing my view of this on the spot since that's not really possible. That said, I would still like to understand why other people may find the Beatles special; given how highly regarded they are amongst music enthusiasts, there has to be more that can be said other than, "they're special because that's someone's opinion," right?
I recently played through the Max Payne series. I have nobody to talk to about it, so I figured I'd share my thoughts here.
TL;DR: Really disliked Max Payne 1, liked Max Payne 2, loved Max Payne 3.
After hearing many a gamer sing the praises of this now classic third person shooter franchise, I wanted to check it out myself since I'd never played any of the games before, and somehow never really knew anyone who had. Immediately after beginning any of them, you will learn that the games generally all revolve around a simple but satisfying mechanic, the "shootdodge" - a move that lets you dive through the air in slow motion to dodge enemy bullets while firing your weapons. It is an iconic maneuver that gives the series a very unique and stylish gameplay loop.
Unfortunately, my journey through the series had a rough start in Max Payne (1). First of all, I had to spend about an hour researching how to get the game running properly on modern systems, so that was a bit of a pain. But things only got worse from there. Despite the fact that the only difficulty level available when you first play Max Payne is the easiest setting, I had a very hard time getting through the game.
The game is filled with extremely difficult scenarios which constantly put you at a disadvantage. Many of the levels place Max in awkward scenarios where it's difficult to land hits on enemies without exposing yourself. Even with ample usage of the shootdodge maneuver, there is either not enough cover where you need to jump to, or the enemies are placed awkwardly such that your bullets won't connect due to railings, stairs, or other level geometry being in the way. When paired with the fact that enemies have near-perfect accuracy, while Max's accuracy was wildly inconsistent, especially when dodging into cover, this was a very frustrating experience for me. I would need to constantly quicksave and quickload due to all of the encounters in which I would instantly die (even on full health) from multiple enemies who would all take many more bullets to kill than me. The game became a very repetitive grind of saving, shootdodging every moment I could from cover to cover, and loading whenever things didn't work out. The decision to include boss battles in this game was puzzling as well - the gameplay loop revolves around short vignettes of slow-mo action where you kill multiple enemies with as few bullets as possible, so why are there enemies who can now somehow tank multiple headshots at po

Hello and welcome to the K-pop Girl Group Smackdown rate!! We three hosts (u/MoonlightByWindow, u/rickikardashian, and u/wavingwolves) are delighted to announce that we will be at the helm for this rate, picking up where the subโs very first (!!) K-pop rate left off.
A lot can happen in three years, especially when weโre talking about K-pop. Since the first Girl Group Singles rate, weโve seen the disbandment of robbed legends GFRIEND hopefully that encourages yโall to not rob them here, the start of a whole new generation, and BLACKPINK finally released their first full album!
Along with these changes, the amount of K-pop fans on this very sub has also grown but we encourage anyone to participate, even if youโve never heard a single K-pop song in your life โ we hope it will be a very fun and enjoyable experience regardless :)
As with any grab bag, there are questions over why a certain song made it over a different one, or why a group has more songs than a different group. Thankfully, as mentioned before we basically just picked up where the Girl Group Singles rate left off. This means we only had a time frame of two years to encompass โ all 2021 songs have been saved for the 2021 K-Pop Rate, as the sub hopefully moves to annual K-pop rates as planned. Therefore any major title track from a big group in this time period, bar 2021, was included in this rate (although we had to cut some songs that people donโt really care about from said groupsโฆsorry More and More!).
To ensure fairness and also give a spotlight to lesser-known groups or songs, the maximum number of songs any group could receive was five. K-pop has so much to offer and we wanted to showcase that!
If youโre already familiar with rate rules and canโt wait to get started, then feel free to skip the rest of this post and send your ballot using THIS LINK - this is a shared account, so all three of us will be looking over the ballots. The Spotify playlist is HERE, the Apple Music playlist is [HERE](https://music.apple.
... keep reading on reddit โกAfaik, the popular opinion is that Savage / Black Mamba are musically better than NL and as a song, Next Level wasn't well received internationally (at least on reddit). So, I believe that this is an unpopular opinion.
Black Mamba felt bland and repetitive. The only interesting factors about it were the bridge and the choreography but those aren't enough. It was a testing-the-waters sorta thing and that's probably because it was a debut song. I'm not the biggest fan of EDM drops and empty choruses.
Savage was cringeworthy. It was surprisingly underwhelming for a song where there is a lot going on. Tbf, it is overwhelming in the lamest way possible.
Next Level is a banger that aged like wine. It had the replay value Savage and Black Mamba didn't. The rap verses which dominated the song were perfectly executed and super-addicting. The instrumentals were great and better than that in the OG version. The bridge where they sing and sounds like an entirely different song was a pleasant surprise. The "LA LA LA" breakdown between the first chorus and second chorus was the cherry on top. The catchy hand move elevated the song and the MV had some cinematic and expensive-looking visuals. Again, Next Level is the best title track in Aespa's discography.
Thank you, IG.

It really does, I swear!
As is yearly tradition, over the month of December I posted two songs per day in the Daily Discussion threads (one single and one album track (mostly)) that I felt went unnoticed by most people but would potentially be enjoyed, and this is a compilation of those write-ups.
Thereโs a definite pop focus but I picked these tracks with an ear for diversity of sound/artistry so thereโs quite a few different things going on here and some picks that might make you roll your eyes, but I think thereโs something for everyone! FFO means โFor Fans Of,โ itโs a reference point for who I think would like each song.
Here is a link to a playlist I made of (most) of the songs.
#Singles:
> Joyce Wrice (ft. Freddie Gibbs) - On One (from Overgrown)
> FFO: Tinashe
It seems like everyone is nostalgic for the โ00s these days but if you were specifically missing those block party busting r&b jams, Joyce Wrice has you covered. She oozes the essence of this era of r&b starlets thanks to her flirty-yet-fiery delivery and the Aaliyah sample (โRock The Boatโ) takes this connection even further, but the charismatic rap verse from Freddie Gibbs has a distinctly more modern feeling that still flows well. One of many stellar tracks on her debut album but it stands out thanks to the pop friendly hooks and crazy replay value.
> FFO: Red Velvet
In tarot the โWheel Of Fortuneโ card is supposed to invoke good luck and prosperity and the song really captures that vibe with the bright melody and hopeful lyrics, both of which Riri carries perfectly. The quirky production makes everything even more exciting, itโs got a new jack swing beat but then thereโs all sorts of horns and synths and samples layered on top so itโs just brimming with energy while still being perfectly in control.
> LรLร - Hurt Less (from overkill)
> FFO: Avril Lavigne
Emo pop-rock meets self-deprecating Tik Tok music, and thatโs a compliment! Canadian singer LรLร started with this sound last year (so she was actually a bit ahead of the curve on this trend) but she took until this year with the overkill EP to really nail it. This song is indulgently relatable and the chorus just creeps up on you, itโs so catchy and

Artist: Japanese Breakfast
Album: Jubilee
Released: June 4, 2021
Popheads [Fresh] Thread: HERE

You would be hard-pressed to find someone with a busier 2021 than Michelle Zauner, frontwoman of Japanese Breakfast. Over the last twelve months, Michelle has published a best-selling memoir, secured a movie deal for said memoir, soundtracked a video game, and even filmed cooking videos for H Mart. And if that wasn't enough, she also found time to release her third studio album, Jubilee, gaining near universal acclaim, a few Grammy nominations, and a tidal wave of new fans.
Michelle feels like she's "won the lottery" with the amount of attention she's been getting from Jubilee, especially as someone who's been making music for a long time. It's been her passion since she was young and she's gone through a number of bands before she was Japanese Breakfast. In high school, she was "Little Girl, Big Spoon", in university, "Post Post". More significantly, she was the founding member and vocalist of "Little Big League", an indie rock band she started after college. Little Big League did put out two albums These Are Good People. (2013) and Tropical Jinx (2014), before being put on hiatus when Michelle's mother received a terminal cancer diagnosis.
That diagnosis impacted Michelle's life in every way possible. It caused her to abandon her professional career, move back to her hometown to take care of her mom, and get married so she could at least see the wedding before she passed. The eventual death of her mother devastated her. In the wake of losing one of the most pivotal figures in her life, Michelle began to write what would later become the debut album for Japanese Breakfast. Japanese Breakfast wasn't a new b

I kind of already made a post about Yestoday before but I wrote that one while I was sleep deprived so I kinda want to yell about why I unironically think Yestoday is the best song in NCT's entire discography in a more thorough concise manner, going through the song itself, the lyrics, the MV, the whole shebang (mostly cause I want a post to revisit whenever I feel like appreciating Yestoday again but my previous was too messy imo lmao).
Disclaimer : There will be tons of probably wrong music terms being thrown around cause I know nothing about music lmao
I was curious about the song the moment I saw the title. Yestoday as a word on its own is so intriguing to me personally. I was wondering whether it meant Yesterday-Today or Yes, Today, both interpretations which I love. It could either mean Yesterday transitioning on to Today hence Yestoday. Or it could be Yes, Today which I interpret as Yes, Today is more important and focusing on Today in general ( Yes to Today/No to Tomorrow. Does that make sense or do I sound crazy?). Either way, I was hella intrigued from the moment I saw the title for the first time.
I am generally not a fan of more minimalistic kind of production, but I love the production on Yestoday. I could listen to the instrumental on its own tbh. When I first heard it, I immediately thought about the work of Nujabes (it reminds me of Blessing It) which is an artist I adore who is considered a pioneer of lo-fi hip hop. I think Yestoday is in the alt hip hop genre? And the instrumental really reflects that with its mix of slightly jazzy sounds and hip hop which creates a kind of intimate and slightly melancholy soundscape that suits the song perfectly. No idea if the following artists are considered a similar genre, but when I first listened to it, it reminded me of other artists I enjoy like Epik High, Offnoff, Nafla, Rad Museum and a few others. There are only a few elements to the instrumental like the snare beat, the horn (?) instrument in the beginning making appearances throughout the song, the little synths and keyboard noises that all combine together to make a perfect accompaniment that is both interesting but simple enough for the artist to fully shine.
You can't appreciate Yestoday without talking about its lyrics. I'm s

Artist: JPEGMAFIA
Album: LP!

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Background
JPEGMAFIA (a.k.a. Barrington Hendricks, b. 1989) is an American rapper, producer, and singer born in Brooklyn, New York. At 13, he moved to Alabama where he experienced a significant amount of racism that influenced much of his preceding work. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force at 18 and was honorably discharged after a tour in Iraq. He initially made music during his time in the military under the alias Devon Hendryx before moving to Baltimore in 2015 and assuming the moniker JPEGMAFIA.
Following the release of his critically acclaimed 2019 album All My Heroes Are Cornballs, JPEGMAFIA began to dispute with his music label over how his songs should be handled and processed by industry regulations and obligations. This led to a frantic release schedule, as JPEG repurposed and quickly released material from his back catalogue as a way of fulfilling the requirements of his label contract. This fast-paced schedule led to the release of EP! in November 2020 and its well-received follow-up, EP2! in February 2021. After these two releases, he only needed one more project to fulfill the conditions of his contract.
Peggy began teasing the album on August 31, 2021 with the release of its first single, โTRUST!.โ He then released the second single, โHAZARD DUTY PAY!,โ on BandCamp, SoundCloud, and YouTube due to sample clearance issues on October 1, 2021.
His fourth studio album, LP!, was released on October 22, 2021 following delays due to sample clearance issues. Because of these legal issues and his balking from Republic Records, two versions of the album were released. The โonlineโ version released on streaming platforms and featured a reduced tracklist, while the โofflineโ version, deemed โthe true LP!โ from the corresponding BandCamp description, was released on BandCamp, SoundCloud,

Hardware used
Both of use listened to Red and Red TV back to back to compare them which led us to these thoughts.
Sony WF-1000XM3 EQ'd (to the best I can) using Oratory1990's EQ preset
Jotenheim 2 with ES9028 DAC card powering Hifiman HE6V2 also EQ'd to Oratory1990's preset. I also used Hifiman Sundara with EQ as well. Both ran off balanced output. These EQ presets sound absolutely bang on with every other album in my collection whether it be Blink-182, Led Zeppelin, or even other Taylor albums.
My friend used non-EQ'd Apple Airpods Pro.
This section isn't meant to be bragging but to help explain later thoughts.
This was the very first thing I noticed when I started State of Grace for the first time. The bass on every song, EXCEPT THE VAULT TRACKS, is overwhelming to the point I can't even listen to them on both the Sundara and HE6V2. There is booming but these tracks are obscene levels of bass. On the earbuds, both my friend and I agree that even on earbuds there is a very odd amount of bass that distracts from the overall experience of the album. Yet, somehow, the vault tracks 100% do not have this issue. In fact they sound like a near perfect fit for the OG Red album. I listened to a few songs on standard Airpods and the bass is no longer the absolute extreme that it was on the other hardware. This gives me the very strange thought that the main album songs weren't mixed/produced on reference headphones but instead mid/low end earbuds. It's just very strange how it's not consistent throughout the album.
I've read constantly about how much clearer she sounds on TV and I'm not sure that's actually a good thing. OG Red is very unique in her discography in that most of the songs have her voice mixing into the back instrumental. This, combined with a sound stage that is also tighter than the rest of her discography, gives this wonderful effect of feeling like being in a small room with Taylor singing with the band surrounding her instead of sounding like being in a studio. Red TV, however, is mixed pretty much like any other post Red OG album while Fearless TV is

Hey yโall!
u/Jusclalas here. Now that every rap album from the 2010s has had two years to age, I figured Iโd rank my favorite 50 rap albums of the decade to share with yโall. Whether youโre looking for new albums to try out or are looking to refresh your memory on some of the best work hip hop has had to offer in recent years, hopefully my write-up can be of some use. Feel to free to comment some of your favorite albums that I didnโt mention, or thoughts on the list in general. I hope you enjoy!
Honorable Mentions
Before we get going, Iโd like to shout out ten of my favorite albums by artists who missed the list entirely:
Retropolitan and PRhyme are two throwbacks to โ90s east coast hip hop produced by legends of the genre Pete Rock and DJ Premier, respectfully. CZARFACE and The Doppelgangaz are both rap groups with deep catalogues to sort through; CZARFACE wear their MF DOOM influences on their sleeve, while The Doppelgangaz draw from jazzier roots. Rapsody, meanwhile, is a killer MC who comes through with some great conceptual songs on Lailaโs Wisdom. If youโre looking for a fun, pop-centric listen, The Stimulus Package, Pilot Talk 1, and Vacation in Hell are all great places to start. And Rest In Peace, Mac Miller and Capital STEEZ. Faces is my favorite work by Mac, and if you like 1999 by his friend Joey Bada$$, youโll love Capital STEEZโs Amerikkkan Korruption.
The Top 50 List: 50-11
So here we are: the Top 50. Iโll approach the first 40 in packs of ten before going into the Top 10 in a bit more detail.
50-41:
ScHoolboy Q - Blank Face LP
Isaiah Rashad - Cilvia Demo
Denzel Curry - TA13OO
YG - Still Brazy
Joey Bada$$ - 1999
Jay-Z - 4:44
Future - DS2
Quelle Chris - Guns
Kendrick Lamar - Section.80
Conway the Machine - Reject 2
Blank Face LP is a hard as nails addition to ScHoolboy Qโs grimy discography, with a psychedelic twist in production that ties the album together. Cilvia Demo, in turn, is much more laid back, as Rashad spits about mental health and daily life over hazy southern beats. TA13OO turns the energy back up, with Curry rapping about darker and dark

So I've told my friends and myself that I'll approach a girl if I think she is really beautiful to maybe get to know people in my town or even start dating again. So I was in the city today just looking around for some merchandise when I suddenly see a fucking beautiful girl in a SlipKnoT Pullover. Man I fucking love Slipknot (Surprise Surprise!). I myself wore my Slipknot Jacket. She was incredibly beautiful and had such a cool style. Problem is that I was on a different level of the mall than her. I went down the staircase in the hopes that she'll be there but welp she was gone so I walked outside of the mall. But BEHOLD that's when I saw her coming from across the street going into the mall again. After building myself up and getting courage to approach a girl in public I fucking did it. So I said "So yeah, I was wondering if I could get your phone number" AND HOLY FUCKING SHIT MY HEART WAS RACING AND I WAS SHAKING. Approaching a girl in public for the first time, damn. She said that she's unsure and doesn't really wanna do that, and I understood that. I mean, being approached by a random guy in a mall. Hey there, I knew a few of Zappas songs for many years but never got into his discography. So I listened to single songs like Watermelon in Easter Hay but never a full album. Which I realize now was a huge mistake. Now I should say I listened to Joeโs Garage spontaneously and stoned as fuck.
And holy shit this album is so mind blowing! This has to be the weirdest, most vivid and FUNNIEST journey an album has ever taken me! I loved the Central Scrutinizer and the whole story. The MUSIC is on another level than anything else I have ever heard in my life. Like completely superior in every way. The guitar solos are absolutely relentless shredding but at the same time tasteful. Zappa uses really sophisticated music I can tell. This album was a cohesive story with the perfect climax: Watermelon in Easter Hay! Which hit so much harder after all this journey Iโve been through. I read that Zappa never used drugs?? I kind of canโt believe that. The dude is pure genius.
I have been in a musical rut lately, listening to the Beatles and Pink Floyd over and over again. Im so happy I found Zappa. This is a whole new world I can explore. I hope Zappaโs other albums are the same way. I rate Joeโs Garage a 10/10. Itโs legendary.
Do you have a bit of listening tips for me? Zappa has a giant discography.

#Ok Human - Weezer:
Hot take, but this is actually my favourite Weezer album. (keeping in mind that Iโve only been a fan since mid 2020). Iโve liked most of their other material up to this point, but my biggest problem with their discography has always been the fact that they seemingly never change. And whenever they did change it was always just basic pop music or a SLIGHTLY different kind of rock music.
This is the first genuinely unique Weezer album and I love it. Riversโ song writing formula works shockingly well when being backed up by these beautiful, fun, and orchestral pop instrumentals. The lyrics are mostly really good, the production is immaculate, the vocals are great, and this thing is insanely well paced.
Tracks 1-6 make up one of the best song sequences that Iโve ever heard on an album. Theyโre all really good and flow together masterfully. โNumbersโ specifically is a legitimately emotional experience. Something that you can rarely say about a Weezer song. The albumโs 2nd half is slightly spottier but still very good.
Itโs amazing how this album can be so impactful while still being so short. That half hour goes by in an instant, but itโs a wonderful half hour. Excellent album.
Best Songs: Numbers, Grapes of Wrath, & Aloo Gobi:
Weakest Songs: Mirror Image, Bird With a Broken Wing, & Dead Roses.
This album gets a light 9/10.
#Medicine At Midnight - Foo Fighters:
Iโve heard individual songs from pretty much all of their previous releases, but this is actually the first Foo Fighters project that Iโve listened to in full. And itโs a pretty good album, I must say.
Itโs nothing I havenโt heard before but itโs very well executed for the most part. While consisting primarily of pretty normal, energetic, and loud rock songs, there are a few tracks with slightly more varied soundscapes such as โChasing Birdsโ, โShame Shameโ, and The Title Track.
The album is decently paced, has some great vocals, and is mostly very well produced. Tracks like โWaiting on a Warโ & โLove
... keep reading on reddit โกThis applies more if you started collecting a group a while after their debut, since you mightโve had more stuff to catch up on lol.
But yeah im curious! How long did it take you to complete your collection(s)? What group(s) took longer? Etc etc :)
This is a random post but I've been thinking about Blackpink a lot in 2021. Although I stopped following them back in 2018 after the D4 craze, I think about them regularly.
I have seen many posts throughout the year about Blackpink on reddit about how blinks are getting tired of waiting. That's not new of course, but after the 4+1 project, the Rosรฉ and Lisa solos, everyone seemed ready for an OT4 comeback. But we're reaching mid-december and still nothing. Even as a non-fan it feels frustrating to have to wait for them.
In 2020, blinks were so happy with the amount of content they were getting. But this year feels so different! Sometimes it feels like Blackpink have comebacks to make fans happy but this year nothing and the fandom is growing more and more desperate. YG wants money but at the same time, they are greedy because they are so restrictive when it comes to Blackpink's music, even though they remain idols at the end of the day.
It's insane to think about the fact that after 5 years Blackpink only has 20 songs. And to think that December is going to end and Blackpink would have released no music. Because I don't see YG squeezing a Blackpink comeback between Christmas and New year's.
With how popular the Blackpink formula is, I don't see YG/Teddy changing it up. I also doubt they're going to drop another full album in 2022 considering how scarce YG group's musical releases are. It's unfortunately probably going to be a 4/5 songs mini album. The direction Blackpink is going is frustrating and I unfortunately think that by the time they reach the end of their contract, they are going to have less than 40 songs.
It really makes one wonder "what is going on?". This year, so much happened: Red Velvet came back, Next Level was a hit, popular groups were having their comebacks, Twice had a full album, NCT 2021, Rollin became a hit 4 years after release... and Blackpink just wasn't part of that. Hell, Treasure YG's new boy group, is nowhere to be found as well. I know the girls are making a lot of money with their brand deals, but most fans know them or got into Kpop thanks to their music. It's a shame their discography is so small.
Or would that be too forward thinking?
[No reason for this post, I just wanna geek out about this album]
A lot of hype was within me when their first album was announced. And the fact that I listened to Red Velvet and EXOโs whole discography last year, which were God-tier: the expectations were reaching the galaxy. Needless to say, the album was satisfying! At first, I thought the album was just โsolidโ (an 8/10), but looking back on the songs of the album last weekโฆthey hit even harder after a few months?!
Itโs the K/DA and NCT love-child I was expecting and hoping for. I know most people talk about Lucid Dream or Yeppi Yeppi (which are ๐ฉ๐), but man Aenergy and ICONIC are the bad bitches of the album. Iโll Make You Cry was an expected bop (being produced by Kenzie), and I could honestly see this song as a soundtrack for an all-female lead, action movie. Savage could be unlistenable for some, it could be a bop for others; for me, I actually liked the song on the first listen. Which is crazy considering Next Level was a slow grower for me, and I found that song to be โmore easy on the ears,โ for a lack of a better phrase.
And what I also loved about this album is that it was made for live performances! Like damn, I need a live concert version of this album (especially Aenergy), ASAP!
I said this in a couple of threads, but SM is really doing something special with Aespa; โinterestingโ AI concept aside. Itโs like that 2nd gen zaniness/weirdness that some older fans have been missing, but with a fitting, 4th gen sound-and I donโt think anyone could pull it off better than an SM group. I may be hit or miss when it comes to SMโs โswitch-upโ songs, but I honestly hope they continue with that โunconventionalโ sound they got with Aespa, whether it be to peopleโs taste or not (of course, a change in pace every now and then would be nice).
Iโm just really looking forward to their music in the future!
What did 0 say to 8 ?
" Nice Belt "
So What did 3 say to 8 ?
" Hey, you two stop making out "
When I got home, they were still there.
