Is a X1 Yoga adapted to digital drawing and image editing ?

Hi,

I love the looks of the X1 Yoga series and I always wanted a device to draw on the go. The Wacom solution is too expensive so I wondered if a X1 Yoga would be a good fit for digital drawing...

Which generation is the best to get used ?

Can't find good libraries / sdks for advanced image editing in the browser? (including layers)

Hey all,

I can't find any good image editing libraries.
I want to give my users a photoshop / gimp like experience, with a very reduced functionality of course.
I.e. I want users to be able to start with a transparent canvas and upload images as layers. Then they can drag & drop the layer content and also switch the layers around.

Any tips on libraries / sdks that suit my purpose?

My 405mb image is suddenly 2.7gb after making it B&W and doing a little editing. Even after merging layers.

Any ideas why or how I can fix this? I just want to save it as a png again, bit I can't do this with it being over 2gb. I did not change the size or anything. I did mess with the contrast?

Thanks

HelpMeFind: An image editing app for Android with layer blending functionality / An alternative to PicsArt

I'm making abstract digital art on my Smartphone, using various image editors, fractal viewers, kaleidoscope things, and so on.

I'm looking for an image editing app, that let's you use layers or blend images together. An example task I want to be able to accomplish is:

  • I have an original image.
  • I have a second, edited version of that image (like blurred or hue shifted for ex.)
  • I want to blend these 2 together, with a specific blend mode (think like having a Photoshop layer with e.g. Multiply or Screen blend mode)
  • The working resolution should not be limited.

Up until now, I used PicsArt, as it let's you add an image on top with a specific blend mode, and even layer masking.

The only problem is, that I'm definitely not going to pay a monthly subscription to PicsArt, just to unlock higher resolutions and something else than jpeg saving, for a niche artistic hobby maybe 20 people on my Instagram will see and I'm not making money from.

All the other apps in my workflow allow resolutions up to 16MP, but the very last step in my workflow is always to patch and layer together images in PicsArt, which leads to me only having an 2289x2289px JPEG file, that looks absolutely horrendously compressed when saved.

Any help truly appreciated!

My ortho navigation+editing layer

Hi, I've put a lot of thought into designing a layer for both navigation and editing features over the past few days, and I wanted to share and maybe get some feedback.

Right hand version of the layout

My keyboard is an id75, but it'd work on any 6x4+ per hand with an extra thumb row or cluster. 5x4 if you condensed it a bit (Context Menu under Alt+Esc or multi-tap, Terminal on Win tap).

Features/considerations I've put in:

  • I merged both functions in a single layer, because I thought it'd be wasteful to have two separate layers mostly consisting of directional keys.
  • I also wanted all the features accessible with a single hand, either of them, so they were available when I'm using the mouse, eating, reclining or talking on the phone.
  • To be symmetric when mirrored, keys that represent left/right directions shouldn't be placed in different columns, because that'd change the finger-direction assignment and might cause issues with muscle memory. Instead I placed them one above the other, with going "back" being on the top, and going "further" being on the bottom.
  • Left/right arrows under the (dominant) index finger, and up/down arrows under next best finger.
  • I didn't want to use Shift in the standard far pinky position, because I also don't do that in the base layer; in addition to my personal problems with numbness in one of them, I feel using pinkies for both mods and characters muddies the muscle memory by sometimes forcing you to use another finger for pinky keys. So on the base layer I have a thumb Shift, but holding this layer active keeps the thumb busy, so I put Shift in a non-standard but very accessible position here. ^(I know we have two Shifts on a standard keyboard, so that we used the one on the opposite side of the keyboard, but I have no formal training in typing and also never learned that organically.)
  • Ring finger and pinky don't like tapping a lot (at least on full 3.6-4mm travel switches), so they're mostly for holding.

Editing:

  • Text selection (Shift-Arrows, Select Line on dedicated key, Select All with Ctrl)
  • Word navigation (Ctrl-Arrows)
  • Undo/Cut/Copy/Paste in ZXCV positions, Copy/Paste can be combined with Shift for terminal use, Undo for Redo
  • IDE autocompletion (Ctrl-Space, Alt-Enter), plus context menu for less used things, Enter on Shift is for selecting menus, Esc for cancelling

Na

REQUEST - what are some of the most powerful "free" photo/image editing apps for Android? Something like Photoshop style editing? Particularly, the ability to use layers, highlight areas to work, and selectively apply filters like blur?

I really just want to touch up some photos, make certain objects stand out, etc. So not just auto image enhancement, some basic but really useful control over the image?

I'll be editing on my phone which runs one of the latest Android OS.

Online apps could be considered as long as the can run within a browser like chrome on Android. I like Pixlr, but I'm not sure if I can get Flash to run on my Android chrome.

Editing/creating videos with moving images in sequence with many layers?

Hey everyone, don't mean to pose a obfuscating question. But to keep it concise I want to be able to create a sequence extremely similar to this. For video topic introductions.

Except with different images and a different layout. (The part at the bottom that says Blacklist/banner around the video)

The parts where it pans to the persons name on the wall seems like just a panned/zoom of an image right? I hope that doesn't have to be a 3D animation, if so I may be able to outsource it.

I don't want to copy this exactly, but make something very similar.

I.E. The video zooms in on a list of names on a tree/object, I have different pics that rotate in/out like here for a character, show the bio, then I show vids for said character.

That's it.

If you guys could help me figure out how to do this that'd be great. I can't find a specific course or anything for this because I am not sure what to search for.

Video editing with many images moving/video editing with zoomed images in sequence with animation?

Also the animated sky etc in the background of all this seems easy to learn, but regardless it seems I'm gonna be working with layers.
