Dynasty 2021 Rookie Stock Watch - Week Five Update!

We're 5 weeks into the season and now the challenge gets even harder. Depth will be tested, rosters will be stretched. As you navigate byes, it can sometimes be quite a puzzle to figure out how to get an ideal lineup, especially when you're plugging a lower-tier player or two into your weekly prayer to the fantasy gods.

This week, I'd like to talk about grief and endurance. We've all had those trades we've come to regret. Last Wednesday, I traded Jonathan Taylor for Saquon Barkley. Really. I did. Last week. I'm pretty bummed, even now while writing this article. The team that I built this year that has felt like a super team just can't put it together, and it's not looking great. That's a lousy feeling. Sometimes it's good to take a step back - especially if you realize you're not having fun. And if you aren't having fun but don't want to quit, you need to find a way to have fun, even during the frustration.

Writing is my outlet. So today, I'm writing, and that's how I'll endure my fantasy frustration.

As always, I would love to give a shoutout to [MathBomb] for his awesome [RAS tool] which allows you to look up players and see how physically gifted they are based on standard combine-type testing. My spreadsheet also includes specific draft cap (Round.Pick and (Overall) for each player, and ALSO includes Lance's [NFL film grades].

The working progress of this spreadsheet should make an easy-to-reference sheet that shows how the ratings have changed throughout the season.

[MY UPDATED COMPREHENSIVE 2021 WEEK 5 RANKING SPREADSHEET IS HERE - FEEL FREE TO DOWNLOAD AND SHARE] MAKE SURE YOU ARE LOOKING AT WEEK 5 TABS

I want to establish a few things here on how I'm doing this:

  1. My 1QB ratings are based on a 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, and 1 flex (RB/WR/TE). Naturally, slide the QB way up in SF/2QB leagues. Slide TE up in value if your league is TE premium or 2 TE. Slide TE and QB down if your league uses extra flex positions while still having only 1 mandatory QB and 1 mandatory TE.
  2. When I try to determine my rankings, I am going heavily based on 3 main factors: Draft Cap, Film/Analytic Grades, and lastly - my gut, which is influenced by

Dynasty Warriors 10: 16 Kingdoms/Warring States/Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period(s)?

I have a hot take:

Dynasty Warriors should end it's affiliation with the three kingdoms era and focus on the Warring States Period, the Sixteen kingdoms era if they want continuity, or the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period. I have studied each and there's great themes they could use for each. It'd be not just a breath of fresh air, but a fantastic setting for different reasons. Though I won't lie, the idea of going to another period is heartbreaking. Maybe I have just grown extremely personally attached to all the characters. Is it just me? Every Dynasty Warriors character is like my child I want to help. That actually makes a Three Kingdoms life simulator sound fascinating tbh.

Mod Help - Five Dynasties & COW 2

Just came back to CK3 since the launch and am enjoying the various new mods and how they work without much fuss with each other. Currently on a play-thorough of China with the Five Dynasties mod. However I've come a point where I'm able to trigger COW2's metropolis decisions yet because of compatibility issues - The barony is converted to a metropolis but nothing can be built. This is due to a conflict in governing type which in the Five Dynasties mod is "Fanzen". One can build/convert a metropolis but only the vanilla government types are conditional for any building.

I would like to ask if anyone can direct me to where I can add the Five Dynasties mod specific government type into the COW2 files so I can continue rebuilding modern China's borders. Thanks in advance!
