A list of puns related to "King of Saudi Arabia"
One of the oft-repeated stories I keep hearing about on reddit is the letter that the Shah supposedly sent to King Faisal. According to these posts and the wiki, the letter was this:
> In the late 1960s, the Shah sent a series of letters to King Faisal, urging him to modernize Saudi Arabia, saying, "Please, my brother, modernize. Open up your country. Make the schools mixed women and men. Let women wear miniskirts. Have discos. Be modern. Otherwise I cannot guarantee you will stay on your throne."[19] In response, King Faisal wrote, "Your majesty, I appreciate your advice. May I remind you, you are not the Shah of France. You are not in the ΓlysΓ©e. You are in Iran. Your population is 90 percent Muslim. Please don't forget that."
Wiki, nor the stories, don't actually source the letter, even though it is in quotes, they all source an interview with Prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia. The actual origin of this anecdote seems to be in 2001, in an interview with PBS, right after 9/11 attacks.
The interviewer was asking tough questions regarding Saudis role in the attacks, and this was Prince Bandar's way of deflecting the question, in a way to show that if they didn't have certain religious ideologies, they would be overthrown.
This is the original interview:

This is the question he was asked where he gave that anecdote as the response:
> Let's go to the Wahhabi question. ... Let me quote from an Islamic author who's [a professor at the University of California]. He writes about Islamic extremism. He says, "If the U.S. wants to do something about radical Islam, it has to deal with Saudi Arabia. The rogue states, Iraq and Libya, are less important in the radicalization of Islam than Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is the single most important cause and supporter of the general fanaticism of Islam."
The text of the "letter" is so bad, it's obviously in the imaginations of some guy. For all his lameness, I can't imagine Shah writing a letter to another head of state and writing, "let
... keep reading on reddit β‘Wouldn't it make sense for them to do so since both Mecca and Medina are in Saudi Arabia?
