A list of puns related to "Killer Meteors"
Who wins in a giant battle between the black superheroes of yesteryear, or the current lineup of black superheroes in mainstream movies?
Old team has all powers and abilities shown in the movies: Blade, Spawn, Steel, Bruce Leeroy, Blankman, Meteor Man, Ghost Dog, Catwoman. Respect threads linked where available.
The new team includes: War Machine, Black Panther, Gamora, Falcon, Mordo, Deadshot, Killer Croc, Cyborg. Everyone is at peak, and Mordo won't dimension dump. *Edit: Mordo can dimension dump, but only one character at a time.
Who wins between the old and new school black american movie superheroes?!
Round 1: As outlined above.
Round 2: Losing team gets Hancock. Who wins now?
*Edit: If you don't consider MCU Gamora black enough for the sake of the spirit of the prompt, feel free to replace her with Okoye, Heimdall, or Valkyre!
Then came the transmission "That was your warning shot".
While overall survival chances might be small, how do you increase them as much as you can?
I've been recalling the 2012 incident when a football field sized meteor flew by Earth. If I remember correctly, they notified the public about it in the summer of 2011 and it flew by February of 2012. How long would it take to notice a giant meteor (maybe 100-120km diameter) hurtling towards earth with the technology available to us? Just a curiosity question that's been on my mind, and one of many questions I have on the subject. Thank you!
Do you think that NASA and major governments/space programs actually have contingencies to defend the planet against NEO's or Near-Earth Objects that could potentially cause devastating destruction or even wipe out life itself if they collided with our planet?
I seriously doubt that it's anything like what was portrayed in the movie "Armageddon."
This is a very real threat, but extremely unlikely to occur in the near future.
This was my first big project in Meteor. Loved it, and gave me 10x more ideas for cool stuff to do. More experienced folks, I'd love to hear your feedback - either on the code itself or, heck, the game. (I know/knew nothing about RPG game development but have tried to balance it well.)
EDIT: Thanks for all the feedback. Building this app has truly been the best way to really start to learn Meteor. I really like it. I've also discovered a new level of hate for HTML, but that's a whole different story!
Platform(s): PC
Genre: Time killer indie
Estimated year of release: Late 2000s
Graphics/art style: Cartoonish, much like Worms.
Notable characters: Planet Earth?
Notable gameplay mechanics: Upgrades of weapons on each level.
Other details: There were multiple types of weapons, like in Chicken Invaders.
So in some event, Konoha's Yellow Flash manages to acquire the abilities of two of his VA'S other roles and gets Killer Queen's abilities (including Sheer Heart Attack and Bites the Dust) and Boros' Meteoric Burst. He starts using it in the Third Great Ninja War onwards. How would the plot change? Of course he still has his jutsu
Scenario 1: Minato only has Killer Queen's first two abilities (no Bites the Dust) and no Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon
Scenario 2: Minato has Bites the Dust. Still no Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon.
Scenario 3: all abilities are accessible to him.
Alright, Psychic time. Not spending too much time on the intro but I'll just jump into everything.

Pragmatically and technically speaking, which Layer 1 βEth killerβ is actually the closest behind Ethereum to solving the trilemma or otherwise being adoptable as a smart contract platform/currency?
First the hype was on Cardano, but it doesnβt seem to be developer friendly and no one wants to build apps on it. If feels kind of defunct at the moment.
Then recently it was the meteoric rise of Solana. But it seems people have seen through the glossy marketing and see the cracks now (dodgyness from the Solana foundation and devs, weak security, centralisation, instability etc).
Is it really one of the above two? Or did they just market themselves well? Whatβs really the closest behind Ethereum?
Note: Yes, we know that different platforms may end up dominating different use cases etcβ¦. but letβs try compare Apples to Oranges as best we can for the sake of this thread.
Hi! This is a second shot at making a BDSP rain team for VGC and Battle Tower (a follow up from my previous attempt)
Tweaks:
Big edit: Swapped Raichu with Clefable.
Pelipper @ Damp Rock Ability: Drizzle EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe Modest Nature
The rain setter. Job description: make it rain, kill grass types and burn anything that can be burned.
Ludicolo @ Life Orb Ability: Swift Swim EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe Modest Nature
Edit 2: took out Protect for Ice Beam, as it's nice to KO dragons. Considering taking out Hydro Pump for Scald, as the misses really hurt Ludicolo. Kingdra is a little bulkier and can usually afford one miss, so he keeps it.
Edit 1: moving Ludicolo to lead. Shoutout to u/WardenUnleashed for the tip.
The Gastrodon killer. Ice Beam for coverage, Giga Drain for STAB and gastro-killin', and Hydro Pump to punch holes through things. Open to adding Scald here if I can get my hands on the TM again, but I feel Hydro gives it some much needed power as his goal is to eliminate threats as quickly as possible.
Kingdra @ Choice Specs Ability: Swift Swim EVs : 252 SpA / 252 Spe Modest Nature
Favorite 'mon. Surf to drown everything, Ice Beam for coverage (damn you, Togekiss), Hydro Pump for hole punchin'

I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
Last night, with 481 hours on my save, I got my 7th gold symbol in the Battle Frontier, a game Iβve had since childhood but a challenge I never bothered with because it didnβt give my PokΓ©mon any exp. I was looking forward to making an attempt at the frontier in the remakes and then we never got it, so from then on I resolved to go back to emerald at some point, and it was a long time coming. I give special thanks to u/operationmeepo βs post for the inspiration and guidance, u/GastLarvitar βs similar guidance post (particularly their detailed guidance for each level of the Battle Pyramid), u/FlameGerbil βs post and his links to the established speedrunning strats (which I mainly used to find the stat build for Raikou in the Battle Tower so I could do some calculations I ultimately didnβt need), and u/FrozenEffect βs post (for being the only one to give an explanation of their strategy in the Battle Arena). I will reference back on the first two in particular a lot. In order to give back, I want to share my own team builds, strategies, and lessons learned from the frontier.
But before I get into the nitty gritty, I want to say that my victory was, within a couple of hours, the anniversary of the untimely death of my friend. He enjoyed playing PokΓ©mon too and I had many fun casual battles with him on PokΓ©mon Showdown. While beating the frontier was a goal of mine for a long time, this win is dedicated to him and his memory.
Edit: Oh, and I forgot the kicker: the first person I encountered in the entire frontier upon starting my attempt shared his name. Crazy right?
---------------------Background, PokΓ©mon---------------------
So, after learning EVs and competitive in Gen 7, I found some time in college to start working my way towards challenging the frontier. I knew that Iβd never want to reset Emerald once I started though (and Emerald is a fun replay), so I decided to play through 3 times so I could get the 3 starters as well as both Latias and Latios (and some other stuff for the dex, like the fossils). The playthrough itself we
