A list of puns related to "Kevin Scarce"
It feels like just yesterday we were drafting our NBA fantasy teams, full of hope that our early picks will stay healthy, that our late-round picks will have breakout seasons and that we will be sitting comfortably at the top of our league tables by now.
And now, week 14 is upon us and most of us are in a tough battle to clinch playoff berth, the guys we drafted late in the draft have long since been forgotten on the waiver wire and we've reluctantly, but wisely turned their places into streaming spots.
As always, I have taken a look ahead at the NBA schedule for next week, and here are the fantasy basketball streamers for Week 14.
One word before we go deep into next week. I've been getting some amazing replies to my posts in the past few weeks, and thank you guys so much for this!

With Tuesday having just two games, while Thursday and Saturday both have only three there's little doubt which days will be the most difficult on fantasy managers. All other days have between 11 and 13 games played, so we will continue with the assumption that most fantasy teams will be filled on these days, and focus on teams that play on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Here's the low-down:
Teams with 4 games:
Atlanta Hawks
Boston Celtics
Brooklyn Nets
Charlotte Hornets
Chicago Bulls
Dallas Mavericks
Detroit Pistons
Golden State Warriors
Indiana Pacers
Los Angeles Clippers

Teams with 2 games:

Central Banks, just like planning boards common in socialist nations, suffer from the knowledge problem. If you guys aren't familiar with the knowledge problem or the economic calculation problem, I suggest reading these two papers, one by Frederich Hayek, and the other by Mises. Both of which are well accepted in mainstream econ.
It's well accepted that socialist economies cannot allocate resources as effectively and efficiently as capitalist economies can because central planners do not have the sufficient knowledge to properly allocate resources. Capitalist economies on the other hand, are great at allocating scarce resources because of prices and competition. Prices, as Hayek mentioned, act as knowledge surrogates in the sense that they help coordinate "the separate actions of different people in the same way as subjective values help the individual to coΓΆrdinate the parts of his plan." Competition in a capitalist economy also provides the proper incentives for firms and entrepreneurs to innovate and seek plans that bring about greater coordination between various market actors.
So this brings be to central banking vs free banking. Central bankers are no different that central planners in zoning boards or planning boards in socialist states in the sense that they lack the proper incentives and knowledge of the market actors. Price signals help coordinate the subjective preferences by market actors, but this doesn't exist when it comes to central banking. Since the goal of monetary policy is monetary equilibrium, central bankers "lack access to real-time feedback process that conveys the state of the money market"
Meanwhile, free banking is essentially an unregulated (or lightly regulated) banking system where private banks are free to issue their own redeemable money substitutes. There is no deposit insurance, no capital or reserve requirements, etc. Unlike modern day central banking systems, market forces regulate the quantity of banknotes and deposits in free banking.
So how has this worked in practice?
There have been over 50 episodes of free banking (or lightly regulated banking) worldwide ([See Experienc

#Red scare
Five centrist Democrats have killed the nomination of Saule Omarova to head the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, assisting Republicansβintentionally or unintentionallyβin winning their βred scareβ campaign.
Omarova is a professor of law at Cornell, an expert on the banking industry, and previously worked as an advisor in the Dept. of the Treasury. She supports the Green New Deal and advocates for reforming the Federal Reserve.
Despite her qualifications, Republicans have focused on her heritage as their main line of attack. Omarova was born in the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic and attended Moscow State University where she wrote a thesis on the political philosophy of Karl Marx. She move to the states in 1991, earning a Ph.D. in political science and a Juris Doctor degree.
The rightwing media has been against her nomination from the start:
>Fox News ran a big story crowing that Omarova βcould be the next Biden nominee to go downβ alongside a large photo of Marx. Network exile Bill OβReilly proclaimed that βwhat this woman wants β¦ [is] communism,β while RealClearPolitics ran with the headline βBiden Is Nominating Soviet-Trained Radicals Now.β The Wall Street Journal editorial board asserted that her βradical ideas might make even Bernie Sanders blushβ and that she βstill believes the Soviet economic system was superior.β
Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) piled on the red scare tactics during Omarovaβs nomination hearing, questioning her participation in Soviet society (clip):
>Kennedy: You used to be a member of a group called the Young Communists, didn't you?
>Omarova: Senator, are you referring to my membership in the Youth Communist organization while I was growing up in the Soviet Union?

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
The trio of ships gets together and begins their deployment in earnest. But naturally several things come up.
So many chapters ago someone mentioned that frigates are smaller than destroyers. I could break the fourth wall and say the idiot author goofed, but I think I've got an in-universe explanation that works.

39 Hours Later. 02:00 Martian Slipstream Transit Point
Three corvettes sped through the void toward the traffic lanes between Mars and her designated slipstream transit location. It was a point two million kilometers from the Martian L2 Lagrange point. The corvettes then split and headed toward different ships.
The Memphis headed toward a pair of mining vessels. The Las Palmas and Winnipeg were heading toward freighters. The respective ships closed in, scanned the vessels, and either moved or flag them for inspection. When all nearby ships had been scanned they came back together and flew in formation.
All sorts of drills had been run to get three crews of cadets to work with one another. There was still a long list of items the crews had to go through before their wolfpack training had been completed. John was reviewing the list and was trying to determine the most efficient way of completing all of the items.
βThatβs one more item completed sir,β Rich said.
βThat it is, please send a message to our sister ships. Iβm working on the remaining list of drills each shift has to run.β
βWill do sir, any change in course?β
John paused on his list and looked at the tactical map, βThatβs a negative, keep us pointed in the same direction.β
John spent about five minutes working on the first shiftβs list of drills to run over the next five days. The other two shifts were included in his final message to the sister ships but the commanders during those shifts could choose to run different drills if they wanted to.
βRich, please send out that list for me,β
βWill do,β Rich said as he keyed in some things at his terminal to send the message to the other ships, βSir, mind if I ask you a question.β

A play on words.
While not all explicitly from anarchists but anarchist, here is a collection of ones I like:
Errico Malatesta
>Anarchy is a word that comes from the Greek, and signifies, strictly speaking, "without government": the state of a people without any constituted authority. Before such an organization had begun to be considered possible and desirable by a whole class of thinkers, so as to be taken as the aim of a movement (which has now become one of the most important factors in modern social warfare), the word "anarchy" was used universally in the sense of disorder and confusion, and it is still adopted in that sense by the ignorant and by adversaries interested in distorting the truth. The common interpretation of the word does not misconceive its true etymological signification, but is derived from it, owing to the prejudice that government must be a necessity of the organization of social life, and that consequently a society without government must be given up to disorder, and oscillate between the unbridled dominion of some and the blind vengeance of others. (Anarchy)
>Man, like all living beings, adapts himself to the conditions in which he lives, and transmits by inheritance his acquired habits. Thus, being born and having lived in bondage, being the descendant of a long line of slaves, man, when he began to think, believed that slavery was an essential condition of life, and liberty seemed to him impossible. In like manner, the workman, forced for centuries to depend upon the goodwill of his employer for work, that is, for bread, and accustomed to see his own life at the disposal of those who possess the land and capital, has ended in believing that it is his master who gives him food, and asks ingenuously how it would be possible to live, if there were no master over him? (Anarchy)
>And even if there existed men of infinite goodness and knowledge, even if we assume what has never happened in history and what we believe could never happen, namely, that the government might devolve upon the ablest and best, would the possession of government power add anything to their beneficent influence? Would they not rather paralyze or destroy it? For those who govern find it necessary to occupy themselves with things which they do not understand, and, above all, to waste the greater part of their energy in keeping themselves in power, striving to satisfy their friends, holding the discontented in check, and mastering the rebellious. (Anarchy)

Many of you follow my blog post:https://texadmissions.com/blog/2019/10/25/when-might-i-receive-my-major-decision-does-ut-have-rolling-admissions-for-fall-2020-freshman
A lot of you were understandably expecting a big wave of decisions to go out. As I stress time and again, there's no telling when, how, and why UT does what they do. Even so, I'm pretty surprised nothing went out. This breaks with every other admissions cycle where UT sent out a big batch in the second week of December.
I thought I'd share my mailing list broadcast I just sent out.
"I hope this message finds you well. I'm receiving a lot of inquiries about when UT will release their first batch of acceptances. As of around 9pm Friday December 10, things are quiet.
As I stress in my post "When might I receive my major decision?" nobody, not me, not random people on Reddit or College Confidential, not charlatan "admissions professionals," and often not even frontline UT counselors know when decisions will go out. Calling the UT admissions hotline may yield conflicting answers, amplifying confusion. Senior admissions staff might leak info to confidants or family friends. Like so many bureaucracies, the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.
All that we can do is look at previous admissions releases since UT started this "wave" system in the early 2010s. There has always been a big release in the second week of December, but this year seems to be an exception. Big decision waves have never gone out on weekends, so it seems previous trends don't hold this year. Perhaps a batch will release as we enter December's third week, but there are no guarantees.
For any student or parent who asks, "when might I hear back?" or "why did my friend with lower grades get in early and I didn't?" My honest answer is I have no idea.
Moreover, if your friends hear back early, that doesn't mean you're for sure rejected. Some of my top clients every year don't hear back until late January, while some of the solid but not exceptional ones receive admission in December. You just can't ever tell how, when, or why people hear back when they do.
It's important to zoom out and examine the bigger picture.
Elite (top 50) universities nationwide don't need to communicate adequately to the public nor shine light on their processes. They know you will wait, however anxiously. This week is pretty tough to predict when it comes to streaming. Thursday is definitely the primary target with just four games played, followed by Saturday with six. We will be focusing on players from teams playing on both of these days. The thing is, all these teams play just three times this week (although they all have their last game on Saturday so you can still get a four-game week if you drop them for another player who plays on Sunday).
All other days have between seven and ten games played and it's pretty much anyone's guess which fantasy teams will need help with their starters on which days. Not to mention Covid-19 implications - my head would explode if I tried to factor this one in as well.
