Planning to visit the United States. Got some questions.

Hello,

I'm planning to visit the United States somewhere between April and June. I will be there for around 5 weeks, this will be a bit more or less depending on the costs.

My budget which I aim for is around $3500, but I have a maximum of $4500.

I am a 22 y/o male from the Netherlands and I will travel alone.

My questions are regarding where (not) to go and what (not) to do.

One quick note, I do prefer to vist a bit less touristy places (I don't mind if it is busy with Americans though).

One of the most important and I would say also the most difficult part is to feel and experience the atmosphere/culture of the people, this can be anything in my opinion. So it would be nice to have some suggestions, because right now idk.

I'm staying for a limited amount of time, so I can't visit all your cities but if you would name 4 cities which get the most aspects of the US. Which 4 cities would it be?

My reason for this is, is that I prefer to stay longer in 1 city than to do multiple cities in a short time.

I also do enjoy nature and your country is pretty big so again I won't be able to visit all of them.

My question here is, is there a must see place and which is it?

And the other question is, what are some lesser known places/parks/reserves which are definitly worth visiting?

Last part. Are there places which I should definitly avoid and not go to?

Kind of a same question, but what is something I should definitly not do?

And last question. Is there something that an American would really appreciate if a tourist did or said this or that. (sentence is a bit weird I think, but hope you understand)

Look forward to your if your replies :D

[DIPLOMACY] State Visit To The United States

Sept 14, 1963.

Setting another historical precedent, President Ásgeir Ásgeirsson has made an official state visit to the United States, meeting with several American diplomats. Ásgeirsson is notably the first major Icelandic head of state to visit the United States in such a capacity. Recent events in Iceland such as "United States Armed Forces Appreciation Day", which was created last year to commemorate the efforts of the U.S backed Iceland Defense Force, has bolstered the diplomatic ties that the United States and Iceland have already established with each other, as both countries are members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Some of the topics to be proposed in this state visit include but are not limited to:

  • A potential military exercise between the Icelandic Coast Guard and the United States Navy, the date of this has yet to be fully confirmed but is expected to take place early of next year.

  • An official state sponsored student exchange between both governments. The University Of Iceland has expanded their curriculum and is currently looking to improve foreign student enrollment.

  • More trade agreements with less tariffs [Help me I don't know how trade works]

  • Potential U.S investment into the construction of the geothermal research facility in Thingvellir. The geothermal research facility is part of a long term project to look into methods of harnessing geothermal energy.

1. Universal Orlando

When you come to Universal Orlando Resort, you can see a complex for night entertainment called Universal City Walk Orlando; this is one of the most exciting areas of this park. If you go further, you will discover two theme parks, a water park and five Loews Hotels, each of them based on different themes.

There are some great activities included in the park which assures you enjoy amazing simulations of popular segments of your favorite movies. You can also ride, play and embrace the roles of popular characters while heading from one park area to another. At the same time, you can enjoy karaoke with a live band, as long as you feel like singing. For more action, go to the water park or lay back at a hotel that is a part of the resort.

Universal Orlando welcomes you to explore your wild side while having some great fun.

2. Hershey Park

Many historical events in the entertainment industry happened in this part of the country, and each of them has left a unique mark. This was the initiating idea behind Hershey Park, one of the best places to enjoy and have fun.

The park offers you an array of around 15 roller coasters. The best part is that each ride is named after different Hershey Company products. Therefore, you can ride Kisses, Miniatures, Twizzlers and some of your other favorite chocolates, depending on the height category you choose.

Hershey Park is planned with 6 areas having unique themes. Here you can enjoy Bavarian architecture while eating in a few themed restaurants or you can walk through water pools with exciting platforms. No matter what you decide to do, Hershey Park is one of the best amusement parks
