Here is my attempt at convincing the men & women of this sub to be welcoming of more.
Title - The Now
Nothing existed before you were born, The universe had not been made. One cell divided and the laws of physics were set in motion; stars, dust, billions. Atoms more numerous than your ability to comprehend, marching along to the tick of an invisible clock built on an abstract concept, of a then and a now.
How far you've fallen. How far into the darkness you've walked, that the reflection is now more familiar than the light that makes it. How deep in love and in hate you have fallen with the shadows on the wall, forsaken have you, the source of the light that casts them.
Eternal child...
Son of my Sun. Son of the infinite.
Open your eyes, home is not so far as even to be close: for you have never left...
...only forgotten.
I have an ex missionary Mormon friend and he knows the most about Mormonism out of anyone I've ever known, he knows A LOT. I came to him with the criticism that a lot of the same errors seem to occur in the book of Mormon & in (circa Joseph’s family) edition of the Bible. This was his response. Did he successfully explain/debunk my claim?
MY CLAIM: There are errors in the Book of Mormon that are also contained in the 1769 (circa Joseph’s family) edition of the Bible.
HIS RESPONSE:
This is true, however due to how errors are recorded in the manuscript, it is very unlikely Joseph, or whoever you ascribe authorship to, copied from the Bible.
“(4) Did Joseph Smith hand over a marked-up Bible to Oliver Cowdery when he came to the biblical quotations in the Book of Mormon?
Oliver Cowdery’s misspellings tell us that the answer is no. Joseph Smith dictated the biblical quotations, just like all the rest of Book of Mormon.
(5) When Joseph Smith produced his “New Translation” of the Bible in 1831-33 (now known as the Joseph Smith Translation), did he hand over a copy of the 1830 edition to the scribe to correct the biblical text from?
In this case, we have clear evidence that this is precisely what Joseph Smith did (unlike what he did when he dictated the Book of Mormon text in 1828-29). There is at least one clear case of this procedure, and perhaps others as well.” (Emphasis mine)
These facts don’t remove the problem or even answer it, but complicate it further. Consider these aspects as well:
“(8) Do anachronistic elements show up in the King James biblical quotations?
Yes*. For instance, there are mistakes in translation, such as “instead of a girdle, a rent” (Isaiah 3:24, quoted in 2 Nephi 13:24), where rent is an error for rope (thus “instead of a belt, a rope”). In addition, there are cultural translations (that is, translations that made the reading understandable to Early Modern English speakers), but which were nonetheless wrong, such as “do men light a candle?” (Matthew 5:15, quoted in 3 Nephi 12:15), which should read “do men light a lamp?”*
(9) How do we deal with the problem of more than one Isaiah?
*Scholars have argued that Isaiah 40-55 was written by some unknown Second Isaiah who lived after the Jews were taken away into Babylonian captivity in 586 BCE, yet according to the Book of Mormon text this portion of Isaiah was on the plates of brass which Lehi and Nephi took away from Jerusal

In the song Saturday:
Interlude: Tyler Joseph & Jenna Joseph] “Workin' on music? Yeah I-I'll just go to bed, I'm tired I wanna watch Friends with you Oh, if you feel like you have time to do a song or you're inspired You should just go for it”
Was this a genuine interaction do you think, or scripted for the song? Sweet either way :) thought it was a nice touch

I also recommend watching his previous video that at the Dark Forces games/Jedi Knight games. If you have any nostalgia for those games and have been disillusioned with the state of Star Wars recently, I think these two videos can help wash that taste out of your mouth
Joseph got the idea of eternal marriage from the teachings of Emanuel Swedenborg when, in 1842, just a year before Joseph claimed the idea of "celestial marriage" as his own, Joseph married his ~13th wife (Sarah Kingsley Cleveland) who was a Swedenborg follower and also married to a Swedenborg follower when she met Joseph. Swedenborg was immensely popular in his time (though it took time for the teachings to get from Sweden to America)-- he had published his ideas of “celestial marriage” and “three degrees of celestial glory” being like the “sun, moon, and stars” several decades before (as early as 1749), and these ideas were also summarized in Sibly’s Complete Illustration of the Occult Sciences, which was known to be in a library near the Smith home, and Joseph himself acknowledged belief in Swedenborg’s teachings. The Sibly book was also the influence for the Smith family "magic parchments," the idea of visitations from good angels, Joseph's Jupiter Talisman that he wore, the symbols and instructions for mystical treasure seeking that Joseph used, the seer stone, copper plates, and the inspiration for some Book of Mormon names. Swedenborg's book "Heaven and the World of Spirits and Hell from Things Heard and Seen" is featured prominently in the Netflix film.

The hosts of No Small Thing podcast interview Lisa & Joseph on dreams, gender, fatherhood, and a bunch of Jungian ideas.
“As friends, Scott and Macie became notorious for having long-winded, meandering, *seemingly* pointless conversations. They quickly realized that they needed a place to host their earnest musings formally, and so, because we all live in a post-Serial world, they started a podcast. After a few months of recording, an actual mission of sorts started to emerge. What may have appeared on the surface to be just two friends having “pointless conversations,” underneath it all was a sense of purpose.”
“We are huge fans of This Jungian Life! It’s a podcast where three Jungian analysts talk about life, dreams, and how we grow! We think paying attention to dreams is an excellent way to cultivate curiosity and this crew is some of the best in the game in terms of giving people the tools they need to learn from their dreams! We are so excited to share this conversation with you and hope for many more to come!”

Hey all, it's time for another track dig post!
Recently I came across this pretty excellent cover of a popular Haitian song, and I'm really digging the world-music-meets-deep-house vibe. Does anyone have examples of tracks that are similar in concept?
