This may be a bit of a stretch, but I sincerely believe that he's not evil and will turn out to be a good guy in the end.
This is his hero's journey. He's currently on a journey of his own, and his path to kill Superman on Earth Prime is leading him on a journey to discover himself and the change to match the new reality. His computer even implied that the Earth he's on does not have the same history of the one he lost. While he's hurt and betrayed now, I feel like he's going to slowly realize that things aren't the same and eventually find a way to reconcile.
We really don't have much to work with at this time, but he's maintaining civil relations with everyone in the series and hasn't done anything arbitrarily evil. Yes, he's fought Superman multiple times, but none of his actions have been arbitrarily evil - simply misguided by his own pre-established ideologies. This sets him apart from many of the nefarious individuals the Arrowverse has already introduced.
He is driven by anger, but also demonstrates a sense of compassion and loyalty that Jon Cryer's Lex does not show. Cryer's version is just classic greedy Lex trying to get the world for himself, and willing to betray anyone that stands in his way. Cryer's Lex literally killed a superman just to become a paragon. Parks's Luthor is different, which I don't believe he would've written someone out of existence, at least not for the same MO that Cryer's Lex did.
By Captain Luthor becoming Steel, he could theoretically replace Superman in many of the DoD's operations and give Clark that break he's looking for from protecting the Earth so he can spend time with his kids. It solves more problems being showcased this season, and would fall in line with Captain Luthor's MO to be hero. It'd also give him a fresh start and an opportunity to discover his place in Earth Prime
Perhaps part of my theory is based on personal bias that Parks's Luthor is actually endearing and more human than most of the antagonists the Arrowverse has introduced us to. Additionally, the series has established that the main villain this season is Morgan Edge with his yellow kryptonite super soldier experiments, and Edge's MO thus far has truly embodied evil whereas Luthor simply walks a grey line.
Simply put, I believe Luthor is less of a villain and more antagonistic as he navigates his own hero's journey to discover himself and where he belongs, not unlike the role of the Supermen after the Death of Superman sto

I've been wanting an IUD for years, but always shied away from going through with it because I have a super low pain tolerance and have read enough horror stories to make a grown man cry.
After a pregnancy scare on the patch in February, I decided "why the heck not" and got my prescription for the Kyleena (for reference, I'm 25 and have never been pregnant). My appointment was supposed to be a month ago but got moved to today, so I've been anxious about the whole ordeal for a while. Today finally comes and I am freaking ready - we're talking double dose of extra strength Advil, chocolates and heating pad ready to go, and an episode of Superstore downloaded to get me through what I'm convinced is going to be the equivalent of Satan clawing at my reproductive tract for a few minutes.
I show up at my appointment and everything is going swimmingly... until it isn't. Now, Iβd heard of people having troubles getting their IUD inserted, but I never thought in a million years Iβd be walking out of the clinic with my Kyleena in-hand rather than in-uterus! Apparently my cervix was 1) extremely tilted, and 2) βlike a wallβ, making it impossible for the doctor to even get the sounder inserted. The worst part is after Iβd defeatedly gotten re-dressed and was ready to do my own personal walk of shame, I started losing my hearing and oh here comes the tunnel visionβ¦ I threw up and passed out. Classy, I know. I donβt think I would have been as embarrassed by the whole passing out thing if Iβd actually had the insertion successfully, but all I could think in that moment was βgood lord body quit being so freaking dramatic, the mission was a 10-74, old buddyβ.
So here I sit eating my Reeses peanut butter cups a little more guiltily seeing as I donβt have any cramps to justify my gluttony and, oh, I guess I can go into work later this afternoon after all. Weβre going to try again at the next available appointment in two months with some misoprostol (though the jury is still out on whether that will even help). Iβve found some comfort reading through failed IUD insertions on Reddit, so I thought Iβd post my own story to hopefully offer solace to others in a similar position.
To all my fellow ladies with a cervix of STEEL - I see you! In the meantime, my roommate is apparently changing my nam
