A list of puns related to "John Paulet, 2nd Marquess of Winchester"
This gun is a doozy. And not just any doozy, one that tried to compete with the Utah hailing God of Guns himself, John Browning, and ended up just being a worse version of his Auto-5, So much so that it was nicknamed the Widowmaker. you see, idiots trying to cock the gun would prop it on the ground and point it barrel first at their face, because the concept of social Darwinism can't help but to prove itself right. Every. Single. Time. Now, I give you,

Why would you touch this when John Browning did it better?

You know, trying to make shotguns makes me realize how much of a pain they can be. For everyone involved. And yet it's one of my favorite classes of guns. Who knew? As always, thank you for taking time out of your day to read this, and helpful feedback would be welcome.
I've recently started rewatching SPN from the beginning with a friend who has never seen it before. Pretty much done with Season 1, started to remember a lot from later seasons, and a lot of memories from my time in the fandom through the last 16 years and I came to a conclusion: the severe hatred that a large part of the fandom seems to have towards John Winchester is pretty much baseless and supported more on head cannon than anything else.
So, like, follow along for a moment because there's a few thoughts:
1- To my knowledge, in the whole of the show, there was a single instance of mentioned physical abuse from John towards one of the kids, Dean. This happened when way pre-series, Sam ran away from Dean for a few days and stayed in that motel with a dog by himself. John so happened to come home during the escape and from Dean's recollection, it is very highly likely that at the very least, John slapped Dean for it.
Now, let's think about this for a second, John came home from a hunt. Probably having seen horrible things and people die. Coming to his boys, whom he is very protective towards. And then to find that his youngest kid is gone and his oldest has no idea what happened. With everything put together, of course John reacted violently and hit Dean. But it's not like he put him in the hospital. They found Sam soon after. Sam has no recollection of Dean being beaten, black eyed, bloody, nothing. Sam didn't even know that Dean and John had fought. Was it right? Of course not. Parents should never beat their kids. Did Dean deserve it? Of course not, Dean was a kid himself.
But other than this moment, there is nothing in the whole of 16 years. Don't remember the season, but Im guessing around season 4 since it was the Lilith era, when the FBI agent catches Dean and Sam, he tries to figure out how they turned out that way and starts to talk to the boys about John. Asking if John abused them, sexually, to which both brothers stop the joking banter, sit up and look pissed as all hell--because they love their father.
There is talk of John being a drunk sometimes, but never talks of it being physical. Drunks can be plenty scary without laying a finger on you. And this was a drunk who saw his wife die and burn in a ceiling, found out about monsters and demons, and chased the hunter life with his sons. Of course there's bound to be regret and self-hatred there for John to lash out on, but other than perhaps some screaming, light enough that Sam an
