I feel bad seeing all the comments and the sarcasm and the acceptance about the game being static right now ... but I don't feel that way and I deeply enjoy the game.
I started RDR2 3 months ago and it was the best gaming experience of my life. I'm not a big gamer but I know my classics and I honestly still can't imagine a better experience than I had. I'm a little bit excited to discover a game that will, but that's not my point. I finished the storyline and laughed and cry (more than I want to admit) following a story that was brilliant. I then discovered RDO more than a month ago and ... I fell more in love with the game.
That's the exact open world experience I was looking for. I loved playing Arthur and John but I wanted to roam with my own creation in that world. I don't have much time on hands so when I log, I search for collectibles near me(2 handful maybe), hunt down 3 star animals for pristine carcasses for Cripps (that can fit on my horse), bring back a couple of bounties, pick up 2-3 different herbs and that's it. I don't have much money but I have enough to buy ammo, I spend some time crafting my food or my tonics, and the little money I make I try to dress in old west outfits (thank you Man Vs History).
I had a little bit of a bad experience with griefers (and exploders/modders) but I honestly try to avoid any Player encounter. I want to live like a mountain man, trying to tame a wild word that's too big for me but enjoying every last minute of it. And it works.
And don't get me wrong here, the game is far from being perfect but it's just a personal feeling and not lots of players will agree, but I love it because there's nothing happening and I take advantage of it by living the Old West experience that we can find playing RDO right now.
edit: I get it, fans who complains are players who love that game and I don't question that, it's just how I play the game that makes it feel like magic to me, working a (very good) 9-5 IT job. Having the possibility to evade in a world that I always admired without having the grind feeling is gold, and I feel sorry for those who are now beyond that.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
We all love this game. Reason we're here on this sub reddit talking about it despite how boring the game can be. No one can say we don't have imagination from all the things this community has done while playing to make the game experience fun and entertaining with the lack of content it has. After my hours of experience and watching random YouTube videos over RDO, I decided to put in a list of changes I believe would make this game far more fun and hold onto people that do decide to give it a try.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!

Smuggler- Smuggle in illegal products from the tropics (possible Guarma expansion) To start the missions youβd go to the docks and meet with a friend of Guido Martelli and there would be a few story missions and you could build up the amount of product you have similar to the trader role and do a sell mission. To unlock this role youβd pay 15 gold bars
Deputy- Each town would have a little marker in the sheriffs office and to start a mission youβd talk to the sheriff the same way youβd start a free roam mission. There would be a new ledger in the building and you can open and there would be people in town you need to go βtalkβ to and every RDO update would add 5 people to the ledger. One of the things you can unlock is a deputy badge same as in story mode and youβd go to Madam Nazar and pay 5 gold bars.To unlock this youβd speak to the police chief in Saint Denis and pay 15 gold bars.
Photographer- Youβd come across Albert Mason (the photographer from story mode you meet in West Elizabeth) and youβd pay 10 gold for this role and the only thing you need to do is take photos, the requirements are they need to be of something from a checklist, it would be random every day like daily challenges. And the you mail them to him. Heβd pay $100 for 25 photos
Industry- You get a letter from Leviticus Cornwall asking to meet in Saint Denis. You meet him at the mayors home and you meet the mayor and Mr Cornwall himself. Cornwall offers to sell you a warehouse for the price of 25 gold bars and if you purchase it you begin your life in industry. It would work extremely similarly to the trader role, youβd have to build up products and do re-supply missions and these would be random but here would be the common ones. Rob a trail full of supplies, break into a rival factory and steal them or of course you could buy a quarter of the material you need for $200. A f sell mission would be you on a train which you could buy upgrades for. You could buy armor, maxim gun, weapon locker and stuff like that. A long distance full product sell mission would get you $1,250 and a short distance one would be $850.
Property- This one is simple, you can buy homes across the maps. Theyβd work like johns ranch in story-mode and be like a deluxe camp. Small properties would be 15 gold bars Medium properties 20 and large ones 25. And there would be a special room for Cripps cause he is the best.
Fight Club- This would be an expansion to the Moonshiner role and youβd pay $1,500 for the are

Nothing, he was gladiator.
Title, Iβd love to have one like the one John wore in RDR1 when you get the house in Mexico. I think that, and the added ability to wear a bandolier with some sombreros (either over or under) would make for a cool outfit. Cripps pulls the look off well with the Mercenary outfit.
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
When I got home, they were still there.
I won't be doing that today!

Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
