WHO: JAWNY is the musical project of one Jacob Lee-Nicholas Sullenger, whose blend of bedroom pop and lo-fi indie funk gained him notoriety towards the end of the last decade, especially after the viral success of his single "Honeypie" (released under his original Johnny Utah moniker before switching over JAWNY) in 2019 landed him a record deal with Interscope at the beginning of 2020, who would release his mixtape For Abby later in the year.
WHY: Coming off of For Abby, JAWNY's new EP The Story Of Hugo is out now via Interscope, featuring the singles "Best Thing" and "Take It Back." To celebrate the release of the new EP, he'll be heading out on his first headline tour throughout the US this November, with tickets going on sale this Monday. Jawny is a 25 year old indie-pop singer/songwriter from Fairfield, CA. He was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and learned how to play guitar when he was 6 years old. He attended college for nursing briefly and dropped out to pursue a career in music.
When Jawny turned 20 he moved to Philadelphia where he began making music under the stage name Johnny Utah, a reference to the movie Point Break. He released two EPs in 2018 and one of the songs he released, Really Meant, was used in an HBO show named High Maintenance in 2019. He signed to Interscope Records in 2020 and changed his artist name to Jawny. At this same time, he moved back to California and released his first album for Interscope in October 2020. One of the singles from that album (that he says is more of a mixtape) was named Sabotage and it managed to premiere at 34 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay Chart.

The website shows he isnt, but everywhere else it shows he is. I also cant find any posts announcing a cancellation.
