A list of puns related to "Ivo Watts Russell"
Why did Gozer kill Shandor?
Shandor's loyalty and value to Gozer really can't be understated. He dedicated his fortune, resources, his life (and death) to Gozer worship. Founded a Gozer cult and sacrificed many to her. Built her not only one but TWO temples (one in New York, one in Oklahoma) from which she could return to Earth.
Then when she returns and he revives from his state of stasis, she just tears him in half while he is greeting her. This makes no sense.
It may be just a case of "evil big bad shows how evil they are by offing their own henchmen" trope. But I find that to be weak storytelling, and I think there is more to it than that. The 2009 video game (written by Harold Ramis and Dan Ackroyd and confirmed by them as canon) explains that Shandor was in communion with Gozer, and the latter valued his faithfulness.
As seen in the first film, Gozer has disdain for mortals and only sees other Gods as worthy of her presence/patronage. But Gozer knew that Shandor was only mortal all along. And if she didn't recognise him - or if the 2009 game is no longer canon - she didn't even ask Shandor if he was a God before killing him (like she did with the Ghostbusters in the original film)
Only thing that makes sense to me is that she didn't want to share power. After all, she did kill him when he said they could rule together. But this means that she was lying to him the entire time and using him as a means to an end, but wouldn't she at least say a few words before killing him? "I will not share power with a mortal" then boom you're dead would have a better ending for the character. But he didn't even get that
When someone near and dear to you dies, first then do you actually and wholly assess what you only suspected and thought about a lot. That is: The huge and terrible discrepancy between the impermanence, fragility and shortness of our personal life on one side and all the feelings, views, plans, endeavours, wishes and needs on the other side reveals itself. Man then bends and breaks, smaller than a worm and weaker than a straw, he dies without sickness and death, cut down and crushed solely by the fact that such an absurd discrepancy is possible and organically woven into the fundament of our existence, into that which we falsely and unjustifiably assume to be and call our life. We live by illusions and succumb to them. (Ivo Andrić, Insomnia)
OTL 1943: Ivan Ribar, People's Hero and Secretary of the Yugoslav Young Communist League, is killed in a bombing raid. He was considered Tito's protege, and a rapidly rising star.
ATL 1943: Tito's promising young lieutenant survives. What is his future in postwar Yugoslavia? Will he succeed Tito as President? What is the consequence of a peaceful transition of power in Yugoslavia in the mid-60s, rather than Tito ruling until his death?
Hello, everybody! So, I know that there are some of Ivo's works that have been translated to English. I was wondering if anyone here has read "The bridge on Drina", for example, since he got a Nobel award for that work. I read it a few years ago, and honestly think it is excelent, and many Serbs/Balkans agree on that one, but I would honestly like to hear what people outside of this area think of this book.
>***"Hahaha! Citizens of Earth, lend me your ears and listen to me very carefully! My name is Dr. Eggman, the world's greatest scientist, and soon to be the world's greatest ruler! Now, witness the beginning of the greatest empire of all time!"***
Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnic is the evil arch-nemesis of Sonic the Hedgehog and the self-proclaimed "greatest scientific genius in the world". Using his large and diverse army of robot soldiers, his various mech suits, and seemingly unlimited resources, Eggman aims for nothing less than to conquer the world, establishing the Eggman Empire and (in some instances) building an amusement park in his honor. There's nothing that Eggman will not pursue if he thinks it will further his schemes. Mystical artifacts, ancient eldritch deities, not even time and space itself is beyond Eggman's reach when he's in top form.
Eggman is arrogant and short-tempered as well as sly and cunning, but above all he is completely relentless. No matter how many times his plans are foiled by Sonic and friends, he will always come back with another plan not long after. Yet somehow, he always manages to find himself as the butt of one of Sonic's jokes, which infuriates the doctor to no end. Eggman despises Sonic and his friends to no end, and will go to almost any lengths to see them destroyed for good. However, Even Eggman has his limits, usually following a strict "don't destroy the world" policy. After all, if the world is gone, there would be nothing left for him to rule. He's even swallowed his pride and teamed up with the blue blur from time to time whenever one of his plans spiral out of his control (which happens fairly often).
This thread is exclusively for feats that Eggman has personally accomplished and mechs/vehicles that he has piloted. If you want to see what his robots are capable of click here

... keep reading on reddit ➡So last post got deleted because of asking for legal advice 🙄
I’m not really asking for legal advice, just some encouragement from people who have gone through the same process of applying for an IVO in Australia. Positive/encouraging stories or realistic ones would be helpful so I can prepare myself for that too.
I’ve already spoken to a lawyer and will be speaking to another one. Obviously will be getting any actual legal advice from a qualified professional.
Like I said in my original post- I’ve looked into it and you have to apply through the court and before that you have to try mediation. Basically I have to be re traumatised by seeing and speaking to her before they even consider putting any kind of protection in place. And the penalties for breaking it are a slap on the wrist. This sucks.
