Hey guys,
A couple years ago I chartered a cat and sailed from Paros to Athens. Everything went great until we got stuck in Serifos for 3 days due to incredibly strong winds (50+ knots sustained)
I'm looking to go back to the Cyclades and am hoping to not make the same mistake. What are the common methods of avoiding getting stuck like this? I was checking the weather every day except for the day before the wind storm because I didn't have service, so the winds came crashing through unexpected. I'm not even sure if they predicted it or not since I couldn't check the weather.

I bought the base game of Cyclades on a whim because I figured it would be a good introduction to dudes on a map for the group.
I read some more reviews which liken base Cyclades to βmoving through honeyβ in the pace of moving around the map and the speed of the game.
Getting this game to the table with my group of friends might be a bit of a stretch, so if the game is too long it might turn them off. I read Titans speeds up the game and resolves the βmoving though honeyβ feeling. But itβs also very expensive right now.
Does Monuments do anything to speed up base Cyclades? Itβs the only affordable expansion for Cyclades at the moment.
I know there will be an upcoming new edition, but I am still keen on potentially acquiring Cyclades + Hades if it's available. Happy to buy or trade the following:

The Cyclades is an archipelago of over 200 islands located in the southern part of the Aegean Sea. Today it is part of Greece.
The Cyclades are translated from Greek as "circular", they are named so because the islands of the archipelago are located around the central island of Delos.
The first human settlements in the Cyclades date back to the Middle and Late Neolithic, that is, 5-4 millennia BC. Over time, the islands developed their own special culture, called the Cycladic civilization by archaeologists.
The Cycladic civilization is best known for its female idols - schematic figurines carved from marble. In these statuettes, the female figure is most often depicted in full growth with arms closed in front.
The Cycladic female idols ranged in size from a few centimeters to the height of a human being. In different periods of the development of the Cycladic civilization, the idols looked slightly different, but in general, we can say that their basic idea has remained unchanged for more than a millennium.
The simplicity of the form of the Cycladic idols, their abstractness, geometry, laconicism and exquisite proportions inspired famous artists and sculptors of the 20th century and inspire many creative people to this day.

The Cycladic civilization was a Bronze Age (3200-1050 BC) culture spread throughout the Cyclades.
The first archaeological excavations in the Cyclades were carried out in the 1880s. Archaeological research continues on the islands to this day. The term "Cycladic civilization" itself was introduced by Greek archaeologists who investigated burial sites on several islands in 1898-99.
The chronology of Cycladic civilization is divided into three major sequences: Early, Middle and Late Cycladic. The early period, beginning c.Β 3000 BC, segued into the archaeologically murkier Middle Cycladic c.Β 2500 BC. By the end of the Late Cycladic sequence (c.Β 2000 BC), there was essential convergence between the Cycladic and Minoan civilizations.
There is some disagreement between the dating systems used for Cycladic civilization, one "cultural" and one "chronological".

Taking my daughter to Greece the first week of October and will have 10 full days in country. Thinking of spending a couple days in Athens flying to Crete ferrying to Santorini and then ferrying to Mykonos and ferrying back to Athens. Only looking at Mykonos to be able to go to Dolos. Not into partying so totally willing to replace or pull Mykonos from the itinerary. Suggestions or problems with the itinerary?
I have not used an avocent product before, so I'm not familiar myself. I would like to grab a unit off ebay that can support both Cisco console cable (what I understand cyclades typically do), but also KVM for servers (what I understand the mergepoint unity to do). Is this correct? Is there a way to just just one vs two units for both my use cases?
