A list of puns related to "International Vedanta Society"
I ask because I've been interested in getting involved for years, finally seem to be heading that way and so far, I haven't seen anyone say anything that bad about it.
I guess I'm wary for a few reasons:
In 2007, the Halo 3 map Orbital established that the International Society of Civil Engineers is founded in 2021. In 2313, the ISCE creates the Quito Space Tether, which is commemorated as "one of the finest examples of civil engineering which has shaped the development of society's quality of life in the 24th century."
Like for example, I read one fic that said that America is constantly engaging in magical wars between the North and South over blood purity. And that because of warfare against the Aboriginal witches and wizards in Australia hundreds of years ago, Australia NEVER allows foreign magical people to cross into their land and that even international delegations of diplomats have vanished when attempting to cross the border.
Is this worthwhile? I don't know, I'm somewhat hesitant to consider accepting as to not knowing what benefit there would be to this. I don't think I would care to disclose this to any future employer to add it to a resume, etc as it could be viewed negatively/ disclose I have a disability (ADHD).
Is anyone else familiar with this? I would just get a Certificate, Pins, and honor cords to wear for graduation amongst potential scholarship opportunities as mentioned below.
" Congratulations! Because of your stellar academic achievement and your identification as a student with a disability, you have been selected for membership in the Eta Lambda of Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society, the only collegiate honorary in the country established specifically to recognize the academic accomplishments of students with disabilities. Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society was founded at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2004 and now has over 120 chapters around the nation".
. All the Vedantists agree on three points. They believe in God, in the Vedas as revealed, and in cycles.
The belief about cycles is as follows: All matter throughout the universe is the outcome of one primal matter called ΓkΓ’sha; and all force, whether gravitation, attraction or repulsion, or life, is the outcome of one primal force called PrΓ’na. PrΓ’na acting on ΓkΓ’sha is creating or projecting the universe.
At the beginning of a cycle, ΓkΓ’sha is motionless, unmanifested. Then PrΓ’na begins to act, more and more, creating grosser and grosser forms out of ΓkΓ’sha β plants, animals, men, stars, and so on.
Now there is something beyond ΓkΓ’sha and PrΓ’na. Both can be resolved into a third thing called Mahat β the Cosmic Mind. This Cosmic Mind does not create ΓkΓ’sha and PrΓ’na, but changes itself into them.
According to the SΓ’nkhya philosophy, the reactive state of the mind called Buddhi or intellect is the outcome, the change, or a certain manifestation of the Mahat or Cosmic Mind.
