A list of puns related to "Inspector George Gently"
My tv/streaming bowl is running low after gorging on Scandi-noir (if these shows were true, those countries must have bodies stacked up like cordwood everywhere!) I just noticed that the first episode of Inspector George Gently series 8 is up on the iPlayer; is it worth a look?
I hope this is the right forum, and I thought that this gaffe was obvious, but I couldn't find anyone who noticed the same thing. Anyway Inspector George Gently is a British detective series that is set in the 1960's to 1970. In the final episode of the series, "Gently and the New Age", set in 1970, in the 29th minute, a politician is giving a speech with something projected on the background. It looks to me as if what is projected comes from a modern computer, with a taskbar below, like Windows 10 or Chrome OS. I first thought it was Windows 10, but now I think it could also be Chrome OS. If I am mistaken let me know. If your Dutch you can watch the show here https://www.npostart.nl/inspector-george-gently/11-07-2018/POW_03405030, and perhaps also if you aren't Dutch.
Last ever episode... Originally postponed during the last general election due to subject matter potentially influencing the vote...
All I'm saying is if George Harrison was on "Off the Grid" he would have the worst verse on the song
I'm in the next to the last season and trying to savor each episode. This is one of the rare shows that I liked right from the start. I think George is a great character, and it's an interesting look at the time period, in the 60's.
Even any other Beatles or George Harrison tracks, I'm only recently starting to get into them.
#42 Eric Clapton (George Harrison and The Beatles) - While my Guitar Gently Weeps both solos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qhhrQhui-U&t=
Hey all! Some rather big news this week. Guitar World magazine picked up on my little project and did a small story about me a few days ago. Very cool! Thanks Guitar World! Had no idea until u/gtrmu223 pointed it out to me here on Reddit. Sadly they didn't mention this great community here on Reddit where it all began and still continues. They just pulled info from my bio on my channel.
You can check it out here if you like https://www.guitarworld.com/news/watch-a-youtube-guitarist-play-every-entry-on-guitar-worlds-top-100-solos-of-all-time-list
Also had a story about this project on Enmoreaudio's website https://enmoreaudio.com/youtuber-is-on-a-quest-to-nail-guitar-worlds-top-100-solos/
I don't know who these guys are, haha, but thanks nonetheless!
Anyway, it's been a cool week in my little guitar corner of the world. It's Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada in case any of you are wondering.
This solo, while not technically difficult is all about feel. Clapton had feel for days. A question that I get asked a lot here on Reddit is " do I think that I'm a better guitar player since I started this project". The answer is absolutly yes. The biggest way that I'm better has to be my "feel". I've improved more in this way than any other. I recently posted a video about this very topic if you care to check it out https://youtu.be/w338Zyt5jEw
Love love love this classic Clapton solo. Just a joy to learn and play. Hope you enjoy my take on it. Thanks as always for checking out my progress. I'm having a blast doing it. 41 more to go!! plus 5 more honorable mentions.
Keep those fingers moving,
Cheers, K
