I am a public school teacher in an impoverished area. Today one of my students burst into tears and had to run out of the room. When I went out to see what was wrong she explained that her grandmother had died yesterday from COVID. She lacked a mother to look up to and relied on her grandmother for female support. It tore me up. I lost an Uncle-in-law to COVID myself and my father last year to a non-COVID issues. I’m just sick of death, especially when it’s preventable. Even if you believe the vaccine is only 10% effective, why risk exposing others?? Please get vaccinated, there’s way too many depressed and grief-stricken students from an issue that stems from selfish political opposition.
Hi! I’ve recently been looking at places in the inner city (Sydney), and most decent places are at least a million. That’s definitely out of my budget, but that got me thinking.
There’s a lot of people who talk about wanting the housing market to collapse so that younger people would have a chance to get a home of their own, so if it does collapse, what’s the kind of price range that homes in the inner city (Syd) would fall to? Like would a million dollar home drop to $800k? $500k? Or maybe even 1/10th at $100k?
Is this something that people have estimates and theories for or is it impossible to predict?

Yes it is a cliché - it seems like every second lifestyle article is about the return to mending / scaling down, and making the most of what we already own for the good of the planet - but hey - it's a cliché that I am happy to be a part of!
