I’m from Toronto. The housing market here is fucking insane. I always thought that our family home is valued at $500k, but after getting the latest property tax evaluation, I realized that it was actually $1.3 million for a fucking normal ass house. Why is that? Uncontrolled migrations from third world countries driving up the demand. My street has driveways with 5-10 cars all shitty civics with “Uber Eats” or “Door Dash” stickers. After googling the addresses I found out that these houses were renting out bedrooms, basements, even fucking boiler rooms for $800/month. No wonder the housing market is fucking booming. Not only that the job markets are over saturated as well, literally every low income minimum wage jobs are filled by “international students”. Most of them go to low level post secondary institutions, study BS courses, and end up getting permanent residence status. Canada DOESNT HAVE THE FUCKING INFRASTRUCTURE WITH THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE FLOODING THIS COUNTRY. This is making my life a lot more stressful, competitive, and expensive. And it will be even worse for my children if I can even have one. Live in a pod and eat bugs doesn’t seem like a weird meme anymore
