I’ve been working, pretty much exclusively, on romancing him and he’s just asked me about Nora. I’m gonna cry.

I bought my Arlo Ultra 2 system in January - and as time has gone on, I've realized that I should've gone a different route.

Overall, the Arlo system was easy to install and get hooked up to my WiFi. The camera quality is decent - it certainly isn't as high quality as they say it is, but I was satisfied as it would alert me when someone was on the property.

The first issue I had was that I primarily use Apple products and the only notification that the Arlo system gives an Apple product is a preset sound - you cannot change it. I wanted something that would wake me up if the camera detected a person on our property and this sound wasn't guaranteed to do that.. I fixed this by purchasing a cheap Android tablet - it fixed the issue since I was able to set something up to give me a sound that would wake me up.

The app regularly signs you out, probably for security purposes, which I find to be mildly annoying. I have to check my tablet (which is next to my bed) to make sure it's logged in. I should also add - it's one more thing I have to charge which is a PITA. When the app signs you out, obviously geofencing no longer works. Ok, cool, no problem, I'll make sure everything is signed in (my phone, gf phone, and tablet) to fix this problem.

There have been times where the geofencing stops working even though I have everything logged in. I have log on each device to ensure the settings are all correct. Sometimes things seemed to of changed, sometimes not, I haven't put my finger on it though.

The WiFi cameras are decent - but say I get an alert, it takes 5-10 seconds for it to load the picture on my phone, sometimes longer. Lately when I have signed in to check the cameras, it says the devices are offline. One of the cameras is just barely in the WiFi zone, but it is one of the closest to the Arlo WiFi.

When this system works, it's been great. For me, I am a turn key kind of person. I want to set it up and not have to mess with it to get it to work. This is not what I have gotten so far with this system. The $16 a month I see come out of my account every month is another jab - I'm paying them for a finicky system that seems to be overly complicated. I'm sure there are ways to fix the issues I have, but I do not have the patience to mess with it. I'd much rather spend time hooking up a system that I know is reliable.

I recently installed an Arlo AVD1001 that in addition to ringing through Alexa, is using a decades-old mechanical chime with dinged up brass and yellowed plastic that was hanging on the foyer wall when we moved in. I'd like to replace this chime (and presumably the embedded transformer while I'm at it?) with a modern-looking new one to complete the upgrade. Does anyone have a recommended model of chime and transformer you are using and so know works smoothly with an Arlo? Thanks!

Long story short as I have posted the whole thing in this sub before, on June 1, 2020 I opened a ticket with Arlo "support" because I am unable to log in and see my cameras. Had to set up a new account, etc etc, talked to "Level 3 support" and all the other nonsense that comes with Arlo. in September, I gave up after 5 years of issues and sold the system (love my Eufy system, amazing compared to the shit that Arlo is) and moved on. My subscription expired in Dec 2020, but because I was not able to log in I could not cancel the auto-renew and I had to cancel my bank card and get a new one (PITA, as I had other things tied to it).

Today, received another email that said this was my last chance to renew my subscription. I clicked the renew now button and lo and behold, I am able to log in and renew the charges........to a system I STILL cannot log in and see otherwise. So yes, i can renew but no I cannot log into my cameras.

What a crap company. Seriously.
