A list of puns related to "Horrible Histories troupe"
When I was playing Read Ded Redemption 2, I went looking for videos on cowboy fashion and found this channel Arizona Ghostriders. All their videos are about cowboys and the Old West.
The videos are a mix of very short skits done in character by the actors, but then more information on the subject with photos, drawings, transcripts and more.
The one I'm watching right now is on the history of artificial limbs, but there are other videos about bedrolls, or snake oil or the history of cowboy shirts.
If you've ever watched a Western and thought 'I wondered how they did this...' those are the subjects the videos cover. The every day things that made up life back then.
The videos are short, maybe five or six minutes for most of them, but can deep enough to be surprising. Or sometimes they're just silly. But they're all good to binge.
Here's the one I mentioned.

I was always told that I needed a college degree to amount to anything. I feel like this is a pretty common belief in todayβs society. I tried the whole college thing and it wasnβt for me. I ended up failing out only after a year and a half. At that point in time I wasnβt thinking about the future, but after several years of working as a server and/or retail, I came to the conclusion that βthis is it for meβ.
I tried going back to school two more times, but both ended in the same result. Me not showing up to classes and racking up additional student debt. Once again, I found myself serving people. I did βmove upβ in the server world β not to a new position or anything, but each year Iβd end up at a better establishment than the last.
Iβll note that each time I got hired at a new restaurant, I never provided a two weeks notice (do not recommend doing what I did hereβ¦). This resulted in the initial 3 of 11 jobs I was FIRED from (at least in my adult life).
Luckily the restaurants I worked at were not too picky on who they hired. I interview well, and would generally consider myself a βpeople person/pleaserβ. At this point in time, customer service was my only skill that had any experience behind it.
After working years in the food and beverage industry, I needed to make a change. My feet were killing me after pulling double shifts with maybe a couple smoke breaks here and there. I also just knew that there was no way I could do this forever.
Computers always interested me and when I initially enrolled in college I was going for a CS degree. I was always the go to βTech Guyβ for my family and friends. By no means did I have any relevant coding/IT skills at this point. It was just an interest/hobby of mine.
With that said, I decided I wanted to get into ITβ¦ somehowβ¦
I started throwing applications out left and right to any entry level help desk job on Monster (this was before Indeed, Linkedin, and Glassdoor all blew up). I got a few interviews, but never got hired.
I needed to get my foot in the door. I only had customer service experience so my options were pretty limited. Luckily, a very notable tech retailer hired me (10.50$/hr)! I was ecstatic. I busted my ass here and actually got internally promoted 2x. I ended at 15.00$/hr. Ultimately, I was fired for doing some pretty terrible shit that I shouldnβt have been doing, b
... keep reading on reddit β‘We have seen Doc and Bud who have been playoff chokers through years and years with predictable coaching styles that could be easily exploited. They are good coaches for the regular season.
Is it possible for coaches like this to suddenly turn good for the playoffs surprisingly and experience playoff success despite getting all the hate and clowning with the fan base wanting them fired ?
Assuming it was written well, it will give us an insight to each individual member and make them even more appealing and interesting. We can understand their motives and empathise with them (potentially). It will make them more sophisticated as characters.
I know there are many rip-off versions but this one just tops it all off. Their theme song is like minute long and animated into some anime-caricature crossover.
The whole series is 90% about British history and their "English accents" just disappoint me.
I tried looking for the name of the show but couldn't find it, sorry.
There were a few clips on YouTube but I've never seen the full episodes. Would appreciate it if anyone has these or could point us in the right direction.
Any recommendations please
Either tv programme, film or books?
When I was a kid in the 90s I absolutely loved the Horrible Histories books but by the time the live action tv programme came around in 2010 I never really watched it.
Since the UK entered another lockdown in January Iβve been working from home and helping with homeschooling my 7 year old son. During my morning breaks from work we would watch Horrible Histories and it is genuinely a brilliant tv programme. He absolutely loves it and will always ask to watch it. Itβs an anarchic sketch show, since itβs aimed at kids donβt expect in depth commentary and analysis but it really presents the facts so well. And trust me, there is enough to keep adults entertained. My son will regurgitate historical facts if we mention something or someone he saw on it.
There are some amazing parody songs as well. The ones that stick in mind are Stevenson, Brunel, Ford and the Wright Brothers singing about their improvements to transport to the tune of Grease Lightning; Crassus rapping about how rich he is (my sonβs favourite) to the tune of Dizzee Rascalβs Bonkers; the Luddites 70s punk song; Jenner, Pasteur and Fleming singing about vaccinations to the tune of Good Vibrations. The monarch song is a work of art.
It is British made so there is some pop culture references that might not travel well (eg Dizzee Rascal) but if youβre trying to get a younger person interested in history then this is a great place to start. Iβm a teacher and the history and English departments regularly use it clips and songs from it. Itβs all free to view on the BBC iPlayer.
Series 1-5 are brilliant, itβs the same ensemble cast. Quality does drop slightly after this as there is a new cast.
Hi. Has anyone seen a live show of Horrible Histories and would you recommend it? My son loves the show (and I do too!) and Iβm wondering if it would be worth travelling to the UK from Ireland, when that can be done easily, to see it.
