A list of puns related to "Hip hop skit"
I cannot for the life of me find this skit on the interwebz. It was absolutely hilarious and all I can find is the Bear Cave skit. Help?
Mine would be the Chinese restaurant skit by the Fugees off of the song The Beast from their album The Score. However, DOOM has some great skits to as well as Wu Tang Clan and De La Soul. Kanye also has some good ones with Blame Game (MBDTF), I Love Kanye (TLOP) and Skit #4 from LR aswell as the numerous skits on GKMC from Kendrick.
Was listening to a song where in the background they guy keeps yelling "what!" "what!" to the song. Made me laugh thinking what if he really just can't hear the song
Whatβs it about?
Any guest appearances?
What do they say?
Which members speak on it?
What happens?
Everyone has heard them and nearly every hip-hop album has them but nobody really knows anything about them.
Topics that could be covered:
It seems like there is a decent chance at a great and entertaining story waiting to be uncovered here.
My Release Radar always seems to be horrible. I've been a member of Spotify since it launched in the US, I have dozens and dozens of playlists, hundreds of albums saved, and am following hundreds of current artists. And yet every week my release radar is nothing but remixes or re-releases of tracks from decades ago or songs that just aren't very new.
To add insult to injury, today the second song in my playlist is a damn skit off of Chance's Big Day, which came out months ago. I don't know whether to laugh or yell; it's just pathetic.
Is there anything else I can do to try and get some use out of this playlist? I just want to know what new albums are out by artists I like, and the only way to do that is to manually scan my release radar for songs that aren't crap, click the album and hope it's not a single. I never actually listen to the playlist anymore since it's so horrible.
I don't know of too many but there are of course the rap battle parodies and the BET Cypher parody - when DMX comes in I can't help but crack the fuck up every time
edit: I kinda meant videos that weren't outright songs, but that's cool too I guess
So what's your opinion on hip hop album skits?
Most of the time, people hate these things and automatically skip them. We can't blame these people - hip hop skits are sometimes incredibly useless and can completely ruin an album if they are too long (see Ghostface Killah's Supreme Clientele).
However, I like skits. They're a nice breath of fresh air between songs. See, the way I see it, hip hop is a very heavy genre. It's basically a guy spitting bars after bars non stop. So every once in a while a skit is nice. Sometimes these skits can be even be funny, like on Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle. Also, skits are a nice way to put an actual context in the album so it doesn't feel like a Greatest Hits compilation.
So what do you think?
it's a song with some voice-over skit in the middle or rather throughout the song. at one part its a conversation between 2 guys I think talking about a third guy. one of the guys say
"he should probably stop worrying about me and get on with his own life"
Or something like that. not sure on the exact wording.
then later on in the song another guy (Different voice) comes back to the forefront of the song and says something repetitive but very brief ( I can't remember) then fades back into the song again.
I wish I could remember more but it's so fuzzy in my mind feels like I dreamed it all. this is my last chance.
Help me TOMT, You're my only hope!
