1. can anyone tell me how good is this university and is it worth the money?

2. I am wondering if I take 2years in Dubai and 2 years UK campus will it help me ? will I get placements there? will it be beneficial ?

3. I want to know how is the education here is it good?

I’m a Malaysian looking at studying in Scotland (Heriot-Watt University) to do B.Eng Mechanical Engineering. What is some good advice for living and studying in Scotland that I might not have been told by the school?

• How’s the community like? Are the students known to be easy going or do they prefer to keep to themselves?

• What’s the night life like? For someone who doesn’t enjoy pubs much.

• How safe is the area? Is there a lot of discrimination (racial etc) to foreigners? In my case- to Asians.

• I know the University is recognised in the UK. What comes to mind off the top of your head when you hear ‘HWU’?

I have applied for BSc hons computer science with specialization with cybersecurity and I got unconditional offer and I have accepted it .

1. Can anyone please explain me "unconditional offer" ? does it mean even if I get lesser than my predicted marks I will be able get into this uni?

I am hoping to complete an MSc in structural engineering via distance learning, and Surrey and Heriot-Watt are among the only two universities in the country to offer it.

Does anyone have any advice which one I should choose?

Both a mid-ranked, semi-decent unis, but importantly they both offer accredited engineering MScs which will help me get chartership.

So I’m thinking of doing my Masters part-time in Dubai, mainly in the field of Cyber Security. I know it isn’t the best place to do it but I can’t leave right now for work reasons.

I’ve done my bachelors in Computer Science from UOWD and thinking of doing the MSc Network Security from Heriot-Watt. I’m aware of their accreditation issues but it’s not a problem for me as I’m not intending on doing my PhD here or working in the government sector.

My question is this: are the masters degrees from Heriot-Watt worth it, or is it worth looking at the Distance Learning options that many UK based universities provide? I’m torn right now because I’d rather learn in a classroom based environment than an online environment, but I wanted a second opinion from anyone who’s actually done the course or have completed their masters from the university.

I have received an unconditional offer from both universities for Masters in Digital Marketing and was looking for advice on which one to choose and why. Also wanted to know which university has a better employability rate and whether the ranking of universities matter in today's job market in the UK.
I heard England based universities are considered above Scotland based universities when it comes to the job market in the UK. Is this true? Thanks in advance for the guidance!

I have some queries in my mind and I thought it would be better if I would ask you guys. First thing first, I am from Pakistan and I will be self-funding my masters so your guidance will help me a lot. So here are the questions;

1. I intend to pursue Masters in Construction Project Management (MSc. Full Time) and right now I have admission offers from Queen University Belfast (Russell Group) and Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh for Sep 2021 intake. Both universities have good course content which meets my needs. I just want to know which university is most suitable considering reputation in industry, employability and teaching quality. In a nutshell I want to ask which university I should choose.

2. I have 2 years of construction industry experience in Pakistan (been working on some major projects as a Site Engineer). I would be really grateful if you could tell me about the software skills and interpersonal skills one should have to improve his employability?

3. I choose construction project management for my post graduate studies because I have been told by my teachers and friends that I have excellent management and interpersonal skills (I was actively involved with university administration in event organization etc. which might have persuaded them to make such remarks) while lagging a bit on complex design and hard core civil engineering part. Also my love for reading and writing (documentation) also played a part in the decision. Will these skills be helpful? What should I work on for finishing strong in a UK institute? Is this the right reason?

4. My internet research has shown me that Belfast is more affordable as compared to Edinburgh for an international student who will be working to earn the living expenses while studying full time. Should it matter?
