What are your thoughts on the "Herbivore Men" lifestyle?

As some of you may know, there's a big problem in Japan, regarding the birthrate decline over the past decades. Causes may vary, but many are putting the blame on the rise of what is to be called: the "Herbivore Men".

To say it shortly, Herbivore Men are males in a sexually active age, but who which are indifferent about, or straight up refuses to seek relationships, and even sex. Also, they are renegades, who turn their backs to the concept of masculinity that many women expects and demands from men in general (the Chad-seeking as some may say).

This lifestyle usually includes:

- Living alone in a small, cheap house.

- Working on low pay / low stress jobs.

- Having some relaxing hobbies that requires little to no social interaction at all.

- Devoting a big part of your love towards animals and nature.

- Trying the hardest to find happines in loneliness.

Maybe this way of living might be an alternative to make life more bearable for many social outcasts like us. So, I really would appreciate to read your thoughts and concerns on the matter.

Herbivore men

Herbivore men[1] or grass-eater men[2] (θ‰ι£Ÿ(η³»)男子 Sōshoku(-kei) danshi) is a term used in Japan to describe men who have no interest in getting married or finding a girlfriend.[3][4] The term herbivore men was also a term that is described as young men who had lost their "manliness".[5][6][7] The term was coined by the author Maki Fukasawa in an article published on 13 October 2006.[8][9][10][11] The term also has close ties in meaning to "ohitorisama" which roughly translates to the act of living alone and performing tasks independently of other people.

Asian "Herbivore" Men in Japan and China, 70% of the male population

Ok, this is alarming. This article is well written I recommend reading the actual article itself before commenting.

https://www.scmp.com/lifestyle/families/article/2147743/how-herbivores-hermits-and-stay-home-men-are-leaving-generation

South China Morning Post

>Leading the charge is an infamous cohort of homebound men known as β€œotaku”. A Japanese term for men who are socially awkward and have limited family and romantic lives, these β€œgeeks” tend to be diehard anime and manga fans who have little interest in dating.
>
>Then there are the β€œsoshoku danshi”, which translates as β€œgrass-eating men” or β€œherbivore men”. The term, coined by Japanese columnist Maki Fukasawa, describes a monk-like approach to life and relationships, in other words, no sex.
>
>Studies in Japan estimate that this class of men, normally in their 20s and 30s, account for around 60 per cent to 70 per cent of the male population. Obviously, their reluctance to procreate is a major cause for concern. Japan has had one of lowest birth rates in the world for nearly a decade now.

So %70 of men in Japan and parts of China are totally dropping out of society it seems. This is similar to the MGTOW movements here in America but not ANYWHERE nearly as popular.

>β€œThese herbivore men don’t connect with others, they don’t establish their own families or have children and don’t really contribute anything meaningful to society, either tangibly or intangibly,” says Wong

Here I am reminded of the beautiful ones from Dr. Calhoun's Rat Utopia Experiment.

http://www.returnofkings.com/36915/what-humans-can-learn-from-the-mice-utopia-experiment

>Calhoun observed the mice population over the course of the experiment. He noted down behavioural changes and population numbers. He found that there were four distinct phases of population change observed during the experiment.
>
>The first stage, named β€œStrive”, was a phase in which the mice explored and adjusted to their new habitat, set territories and created nests.

I heard from various reliable online forum sources that Japanese men have given up and become herbivores.
