Lilith's first ever game was Dota Legends in China in December 2013. It dominated the local market, became the ran away top grossing game in 2014, and they looked unstoppable.

Unfortunately, their game was quickly copied by another studio and released internationally as "Heroes Charge" before Lilith could release it globally. Heroes Charge got so big that at its peak, it paid for SuperBowl commercials. Lilith managed to sue the company that literally stole the source code and Heroes Charge faded into abyss. However Blizzard also sued Lilith who used Blizzard character design in Dota Legends. With Blizzard's relationship with Netease, they managed to force Lilith to rebrand the game which more or less killed it in China. Tencent and Netease also built very strong mobile studios, the future looked bleak for Lilith.

If you were the owner of Lilith, you made more money than you can ever spend already, what do you do? Turned out he had the heart of a champion and wanted to prove Dota Legend's success was not because of Blizzard characters, but great gameplay and meticulously balanced progression curve. He took his studio straight into international market to avoid the controversy in China.

AFK Arena

Three mega hits globally, one bigger than the other, in different genre's! When I first played AFK Arena I thought it was a clone of Idle Heroes, a very successful game on its own right at the time. I never saw it destroy pretty much all other gacha games in international markets. However Lilith added a lot of tweaks to the basic formula like:

1. You do not need to hoard resources, you can spend any time and not be penalized.

2. You only need to invest in 5 main characters, you can reset them nearly free any time, and all other characters are auto leveled to the lowest of your starting five. This gives you huge flexibility in line up exploration. I can't tell you how many times changing a support character allowed me to pass a stage that I thought to be impossible with my gear level.

3. PVP championship, rogue like mini games where you collect random buffs, just a lot of micro innovations to existing game modes in the genre.

4. Great production value and polish, and once again meticulously tweaked progression curve to keep whales spending day after day without getting bored. This is actually incredibly difficult to do correctly.

"God Touched," Veniz whispered, his face pressed up against the small crack of light leading outside of the ramshackle hovel. "Thundera. Maybe Electris." He tip-toed back to the far corner of the room and knelt down beside the two young children who cowered there. "It will be fine, ain't none of them want anything to do with lessers like us." He held open his arms and they clambered up.

"Why are they in the Slide?" Charlie asked, her blue eyes watery and her nose runny. She drew the back of her tattered sleeve across her face, mixing snot with accumulated dirt.

Veniz sighed and set about cleaning her up, "Why are any of the Touched anywhere? They go where they want. Do what they want."

"What do they want?" Charlie asked, her voice muffled by Veniz's sleeve as he continued to wash her.

"Kill everyone." Jessup chimed in. The boy was two notches shorter than Charlie despite being two years older, something that seemed to evoke in him a deep desire to upset Charlie whenever possible.

Veniz glared down at Jessup, "You hush up now, ain't no Touched down here to kill no one but 'nother Touched."

Jessup rolled off of Veniz's lap with a scowl, "Wish I was Touched, then I could do whatever I want."

Veniz snorted, "You'd be short a head in a day or less. Carrying the Favor don't do no one no favors. Most Touched don't make it a fortnight."

Jessup's chest swelled out, a fists clenching, "I'd be the most powerful Touched that ever lived! Twice as strong as Bale and a hundred times stronger than you." His nose scrunched up and his eyes squinted at the last bit, daring Veniz to say otherwise.

But Veniz did not. His attention was elsewhere, his ear tilted toward the door. A rumble was building outside, a great cacophony of collateral being damaged as the two Touched met each other. Veniz hoped the distance was great enough to keep them safe, not that much of anywhere was safe now.

Charlie pulled on his sleeve, "How do you become Touched?"

"No one knows I guess. Some say its all a trick of fate, all a game of chance. Others say you get marked at birth. Only one thing we know for certain, each God only gets one and as soon as the one dies, another gets the favor."

So on Charlie’s verse does he say “I’m asshole minded mentally” or “I’m absent minded mentally” because In some lyrical videos I see it says “asshole minded mentally” and I’m others I see it say “absent minded mentally” and plus when I listen to the song I hear “asshole minded mentally”

Is it just me, or is the chorus in Heart of a Champion very similar to the chorus in Jekyll and Hyde by Five Finger Death Punch?
