A list of puns related to "Hawaii Kai, Hawaii"
We recently moved to a house on one of the canals in Hawaii Kai and are having fun learning to paddle. I noticed some buoys toward the low bridge by the highway, near the duck island, that say the water is contaminated and that people shouldn't swim or touch the water. Does anyone know what the contamination is: bacteria from duck poop, hydrocarbons, metals, etc.? The tide definitely moves the water up and down a good bit, and there doesn't seem to be much in the back of the valley other than a retirement community and a dry culvert. We've fallen in plenty --- see learning to paddle, and the wind from the back of the valley makes your whole body feel like a sail, which doesn't help on the return trips. So far we haven't gotten ear infections, thank goodness. We've seen folks water skiing near the Peninsula, which would tend to shove water into your head holes a lot more forcefully when you fall. Does anyone know why the mauka canals wouldn't be OK for swimming?
Just got approved for PTO so Iβm looking for another golf course. Iβll be renting too!

I meant to post this last week but I forgot. It's tomorrow afternoon at 2pm. You have to register by tomorrow morning at 10am. It looks like there's a Q&A after if you attend the virtual screening.
It will also be aired on PBS on Thursday, 10/21/2021 at 8:30pm.
