A list of puns related to "Happy Valley (TV series)"
A few years ago, while I was in the UK, I became addicted to British dramas. I like that British TV series aren't so long like the American or Canadian ones. A season of a maximum of six episodes is more than enough to enjoy a good story. In my opinion, the British have chosen the best format to retain the viewer's attention. And except for the short season, there is also the gloomy atmosphere and the broken personalities which make you sympathize. I love that there is no clear line between good and evil, making British shows seem more realistic to me.
After watching Line of duty, I understood that British police drama is much more intense than other shows. The acting is persuasive on all accounts. I enjoyed the thin line between good and evil and how easily the main character crossed it to save his skin in the first season (my favorite, because of Lennie James' playing). But all stories have their twists and turns, keeping you on your toes all the time and making this show fascinating to watch.
I'd be thankful if you can advise something similar to Line of duty or Luther. Elba did a great job impersonating the self-destructive detective. And although I like Luther, my beloved character is Alice - the charming killer. She's so adorable, and their relationship is my favorite story in this show. I watched this show more than five times, I guess - whenever I can't find something interesting, I'm returning to it. Too bad that BBC iPlayer isn't available in Canada. I had to google how to use the VPN, and thanks to https://privacyhq.com/watch-bbc/canada/, I could enjoy British TV series after returning from the UK.
So I'm searching for a quality criminal drama, not necessarily the latest ones; it can be something from the two-thousandth or even the nineties, as long as it's something as intense as Luther or Line of Duty, with good acting and controversial main characters. I'd be grateful if you can make any suggestions. Thank you.
Has anyone in this sub watched the miniseries "DEVS" ?

A couple of days back I finished watching Season 1 and I think I've found something that most haven't.Here's the trailer
Here's a brief plot overview from wiki:
>Lily Chan (Sonoya Mizuno) is a software engineer for Amaya, a quantum computing company run by Forest (Nick Offerman). Lily soon becomes embroiled in the mysterious death of her boyfriend, who died on the first day of his new job at Devs.[2][4][5] The series explores themes related to free will and determinism, as well as Silicon Valley
The quantum computer is clearly a hint to D-Wave computers(Geordie Rose).Notice the font used in the title:

Also, the computer is set in a cube just like D-wave.
The quantum computer can predict the future and reverse-project the past, allowing the members of Devs to watch any event on a screen . There's even a scene where they are able to see the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

The show's major theme is Quantum Computing & 'TIME' & so,two things come to mind:
Let's bring our attention to John Ellis.
Note - Theory of \"EVERYTHING\".That will come up later.
1)Notice how similar Forest & John Ellis are in appearance

English isn't my native language (not even my second language). But I do love to watch british series in english and if available with subtitles(not often the case somehow). Imagine my confusion when a unrelated looking 30 year old calls the older women character Mom. Because it didn't happen to often on my viewings (maybe Ma'am isn't that common) I was confused but I put it always aside as me being not attentive enough. Only with the magic of subtitles was I able to understand how much of an moron I was.

I work at another Circle K down the road.
If you're wondering why the police had the parking lot completely blocked off, somebody burned to death.
The donut delivery guy said that someone walked up to one of the pumps, doused themselves, and lit themselves up.
This will be the second person I know of to commit suicide in a Circle K parking lot in the past 3 months. About 3 months ago, a woman shot herself in my parking lot.
If you're depressed, stay away from Circle K.

So my brother tonight is sitting down to watch Star Wars IV with his son for the first time and we were talking about shows that we wish we could see again for the first time.
So I ask you, what is the one TV series you wish you could rewatch but with fresh eyes for the first time?
Something similar to Peaky Blinders, Hannibal or Breaking Bad would be ideal.
Edit: Thanks for the responses. After much careful consideration I have decided to go with The Wire
As the title states, I'm trying to figure out the name of a British series or movie that I saw a scene of once on tiktok. The scene went as follows: a van has been stopped by a police officer (who was a woman). The van had multiple (maybe 2-3) men. She hears a noise coming from inside and asks one of the men about it, and he replies "it's just a animal... Horse and cow were the first two things that came to mind. The camera then cuts to inside the van where what appears to be a kidnapped woman is show. The caption of the post was something very similar to "She was just doing her job and he killed her." So I can imagine the police officer was murdered shortly after. The camera quality of the clip was also pretty good, which leads me to believe the show/film was released after the 2000's, possibly after the 2010's.
If I remember any other details, I'll leave them in the comments section. Any and all help is appreciated.
I don't know if this question has been asked before but I will ask it anyway. What movie do you think would have been better suited as a TV Series?
Some films try to cram wayyyyy too much into too little and feel overstuffed as a result, personally, I think the recent Matt Damon film Stillwater would have been better as a crime miniseries since there was just too much put into the film it felt overstuffed and questions were left unanswered
What films would you say?
I need a new tv as my current one doesnβt have 4K. Should I look at getting a tv with the 2.1 hdmi? Or with 120hz? I donβt know too much about TVs. Will a 4K 60fps tv do?
