Is DE Simeon Rice (AZ 1996-2000, TB 2001-2006, DEN/IND 2007) worthy of the Hall of Fame?

Pros:

  • 122.0 career sacks (20th all-time)
  • 3x Pro Bowl (1999, 2002, 2003)
  • First-Team All-Pro (2002)
  • Second-Team All-Pro (1996 - 12.5 sacks, 1999 - 16.5 sacks, 2003 - 15.0 sacks)
  • 8 seasons of double-digit sacks (many seasons that were snubbed from the Pro Bowl)
  • Helped the Bucs win Super Bowl XXXVII (15.5 sacks that year)

Cons:

  • Limited number of Pro Bowls/All-Pro selections (really sucks since he had many high-quality seasons)
  • For most of his career, played on subpar teams
  • Not a great ending to his career (2.0 sacks with TB in 2006, 1.0 sacks with DEN/IND)

Santino Marella: Hall of Fame Worthy?

He was really over with crowd, and was such a loveable underdog. Evidence of this being Elimination Chamber against DB and at Royal Rumble, nearly eliminating ADR. He was a 2x IC champ, 1x US champ and Tag Champ w/ Kozlov. He was a bright spot during some dark times in 2007 - 2013 WWE and even won 2 โ€˜Best Gimmickโ€™ awards from Meltzer. What do you guys think? Maybe in 4-8 years?

Mike Shanahan's influence on Broncos, NFL and friends is Pro Football Hall of Fame-worthy

https://gazette.com/sports/paul-klee-mike-shanahan-s-influence-on-broncos-nfl-and/article_be40e6a2-c12f-11e9-a758-7f48de2847eb.html

>Mike Shanahan is worthy of induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame not solely because of his coaching record (170-138) or Super Bowl parades here in 1998 and '99. Those are just the numbers. Itโ€™s also because of the way heโ€™s shaped the modern game and the influence heโ€™s had on coaching styles that are evolving and advancing from L.A. to Green Bay. His fingerprints were all over the place this weekend at UCHealth Training Center, and now theyโ€™re all over the NFL. His 2012 Redskins staff, for one example, had three assistant coaches who are now coaches: Sean McVay (with the runner-up Rams), Matt LaFleur (Packers) and Kyle Shanahan, the Cherry Creek grad and his son.

>(Plus, Shanahan and Peyton Manning chatted each otherโ€™s ears off for 2 hours at practice Friday. Can we get them mic'ed up, please? It was Shanahan who loaned Manning a place to live when the quarterback moved to Colorado in 2013. Between their financial investments in pizza (Manning) and tequila (Shanahan), the duo also could throw one helluva party.)

...

>If Saturday afternoon is any indication, the line for Mike Shanahanโ€™s induction to the Broncosโ€™ Ring of Fame โ€” and perhaps the Pro Football Hall of Fame โ€” will be a long one. Shanahan would be eligible for the Ring of Fame this season, in 2019. But with Pat Bowlen and Champ Bailey being inducted to the Ring of Fame on Oct. 13 when the Tennessee Titans visit Broncos Stadium at Mile High, expect the Broncos to induct Shanahan in the 2020 season.

I mentioned this in another thread but I think it deserves it's own post. They should retire Gary's jersey and hang it in the studio rafters after his performance on Debatable today. I actually felt sorry for Greg as Gary surgically dismantled him.

Is it jus me or is Herschel walker almost hall of fame worthy despite all the shit that gets talked about him?

Walker rushed for 5,562 yards in his USFL career.[50]ย His combined rushing numbers for the USFL and the NFL (13,787 yards) would place him 5th All-Time on the NFL's career rushing list.[51]ย In 12 NFL seasons, Walker gained 8,225 rushing yards, 4,859 receiving yards, and 5,084 kickoff-return yards.[52]ย for 18,168 total combined net yards, ranking him second among the NFL's all-time leaders in total yardage as of his retirement; as of the start of the 2007 NFL season, ten years later, he still ranked eighth.[53]ย He scored 84 touchdowns: 61 rushing, 21 receiving and returned two kick-offs for touchdowns.[52]Walker is the only other player besides Derrick Mason to have 10,000+ yards from scrimmage and 5,000+ return yards (all of which were on kickoff returns).

He is the only player to gain 4,000 yards three different ways: rushing, receiving and kickoff returns. He is one of six players (Jim Brown,Lenny Moore,ย Marcus Allen,ย Marshall Faulkandย Thurman Thomas) to exceed 60 touchdowns rushing and 20 touchdowns receiving. He is the only NFL player with a 90+ yard reception, 90+ yard run and a 90+ yard kickoff return in one season (1994). He is the only player to record an 84+ yard touchdown run and an 84+ yard touchdown reception in the same game (December 14, 1986). He had 100 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving that day.

You discover a grand hall filled with legendary weapons like Mjonir and Excalibur. Each generation or so, warriors come to the hall to inherit a weapon that they are worthy enough to wield. Across the hall you see a forgotten weapon that's been collecting dust. You hear it call to you.

Toran had heard the call described by the others.

Some said it felt like a pull, a magnet that dragged you in the direction of the weapon you were born to wield. Others heard a soft yet insistent whisper, a product of the magic that coated each of the numerous hammers, swords, daggers and bows that decorated the hall.

He found himself passing the platforms where Mjonir and Excalibur awaited those worthy to bear their weight. He winced to see countless warriors already spilling one another's blood to inherit those legendary weapons for this generation, fighting to the death in the middle of the hall to prove their skill.

He passed the lesser weapons, each still attracting substantial crowds. He walked until his feet ached, until he came to the dusty corner of the hall - the whisper in his mind had grown to an almost unbearable crescendo.

An old man was napping beside a shelf filled with dusty jars. Toran shook him awake gently, wondering if someone had already taken the weapon calling to him. The man's eyes snapped open and widened to see the unscarred face of a young warrior staring down at him.

Could it be - a worthy warrior to take the weapon from his care this generation? It had been too long. Too many years to count.

"You are young," the caretaker said, a quiver in his voice as he smiled. "Good, that's good. This weapon is often only useful to those who master it in their youth. Rest assured, young man, it will serve you well if you learn to apply it throughout your years. Yes, indeed. You will live longer than all your foes. Look at me. I once wielded it myself, and I'm still alive, aren't I?"

The old man cackled, revealing an almost toothless mouth. Toran couldn't help but grin - the old codger must be approaching a century's worth of years.

"Where is it?" he asked, almost expecting the man to pull a weapon from beneath his ratty cloak.

"There," the man said, pointing to the dusty jar on the shelf. "Just inhale it, and it will enhance the affinity you have for the weapon you carry already."

Toran resisted rolling his eyes at the old man's vague mumbo jumbo, bitterly disappointed that he couldn't have a physical weapon. It was all he'd dreamt of since his boyhood. But the old man had such a eager glimmer to his rheumy blue eyes that he found himself picking up the jar. He should just humour the old guy.

Feeling extraordinarily foolish, Toran tipped the contents into his mouth. There was a faint type of smoke writhing inside. A trick, t
