Any thoughts on highlighting my hair at home but doing it over the course of like 3-5 sessions? I started highlighting my hair my self, I got all salon quality products and started last night but was only able to get 3 diagonal sections foiled on each side of the back of my head/neck behind my ears. Highlighting your own hair is a little trickier then I expected even when you have mirrors strategically placed in front and behind you. ((DUH!)) And it will start to mess with your head when your looking in the mirror and it’s reversed so you feel like you don’t have control of your hand almost! Lol So my question is do you see any possible issues with doing a section at a time? Even if that’s spread over the course of about 3 days? The problem was that those 6 foils took 30 min each to put in and then I let them process for another 30-45 min (washed out the first side 30 min before the second) but trying to wash more sections than that in one session without possibly ruining the other foils that need processing (and keeping track of how long each section has been in when it’s taking me that long to do the back) seems like it could turn into a disaster lol
Anybody else ever done this? (spreading it out like this) and/or do foresee any possible problems to watch out for!?

I really need your advice. I have natural dark brown, almost black Asian hair and early gray hair, so I dyed my hair with Clairol root touch-up (last 3 years) and now I dye it with henna (almost a year). Usually it's Surya Brasil black, but I've used Light mountain black a couple of times and I don't like this brand. Now I started thinking that I would like to get some highlights on my hair. Is this possible after all my experiments? If yes, then how?
Hello! I just fully dyed my hair very dark brown from prev highlights/bleach with L’oreal Majirel Cover No. 3. I’m planning to give some diy highlights for dimension with Majirel mocha color.
I’m wondering if it is possible to dye on dyed hair? Or there’s no point because nothing will show up because of the first full dye? Thanks!

I highlighted my hair brown and they were fine with it but when I said I wanted to dye my hair fully brown they got mad at me, said it would look weird, and that I would look “muslim”.? Like wtf so many indian ppl have brown hair and it doesn’t look weird.... in fact alot of bollywood actresses and stuff look really pretty with fully brown hair
My wife is thinking about getting full highlights, but her stims may be starting in the next 2-3 weeks. Is it too risky at this point with all the chemicals? Googling got us mixed opinions and confused us even more. Many people said 3 months before the ER are crucial for the egg quality. Of course, we don’t want to jeopardize the egg quality or the cycle results. The RN says it should be okay, but we’re not totally convinced. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hey. I’ve been on finasteride for 5-6 months along with minox/dermarolling and I’ve regrown almost everything back so I’m very happy with the treatment. Lately I’ve been wanting to try highlighting my hair though. It’s something that I’ve never done because I’ve always been worried that it would speed up my hairloss. Does anyone know if highlighting your hair could damage it or accelerate hairloss?

I have decided ro try and do my own hair highlights I watched a few videos and it seems pretty simple.
I am a guy with short and dark brown hair. I just wanted to achieve some more lighter kind of dark carmel colored (not really blond maybe a light brown) streaks to provide more texture and difference in my hair.
My hair is virgin.
I bought a bleach kit schwarzkopf (the powder with the 30 volume mixture). And plan on just putting little streaks of it in my hair and Maybe letting it stay for 20 minutes to see how the color turns out.
I feel like this is pretty simple is there anything I should be worried about. Been hearing so many horror stories but I am just trying to do a few streaks of hair lightening. Nothing crazy.
Do I need toner? I am really not looking to go To a blond just a lighter brown.
