What were the contemporary responses and news coverage like at the time regarding the Nama-Herero massacre in German South-West Africa?

Wouldn't it be great if Germany could make reichskommisariats in Africa? Like being able to release Namibia (in South Africa) and it gets renamed to German South West, or Cameroon to be releasable as German Kamerun.
