A list of puns related to "Generalized lymphadenopathy"
(24m) Iβve had lumps in my groin and neck for a long time. After googling one fateful day 3 years ago, I learned that they are lymph nodes, and that almost every publication and doctor says that they are a worrisome symptom that warrants investigation.
Went to my PCP, he felt my neck and groin, he did bloods, and told me Iβm fine. Should be the end of the story right? Wrong. More stupid googling revealed that cancers can be missed on blood tests and that palpating canβt reveal a worrisome node. I wait another year, my anxiety stewing, before I go back. Same thing. Bloods and palpation and being told Iβm fine, but this time he sent me to a general surgeon for another opinion. He felt my biggest nodes(inguinal) and told me that if theyβve been there that long without change or symptoms heβd rather not biopsy. I wasnβt happy with this answer but tried my hardest to trust the professional.
The anxiety never went away, and throughout the course of another year, I dug around everywhere there are nodes, and I can feel them everywhere. Neck, groin, armpit, epitrochlear. Probably close to twenty in total. This September, I went to a new PCP. He barely even felt them and sent me for an inguinal ultrasound and more bloods. All normal again, and the biggest inguinal node measured 1.5cm. He basically ignored the other regions.
Iβm still anxious because google still says I shouldnβt be able to feel these, especially in the epitrochlear region. I had to go on medication because of these damned nodes. Iβm so sick of this anxiety and I donβt know what to do anymore. Iβm not even sure if a biopsy would bring me peace of mind or how to even ask for one. I feel like the doctors are blowing me off because I am young and not showing any other symptoms. Am I warranted in still being worried about this?
I will keep this as concise as possible, my objective is to determine if I should pursue a referral/second opinion or if I am being a hypochondriac.
33 year old female, mostly uneventful medical history carpal tunnel, a couple broken bones, no long term medical conditions. Healthy weight and diet, no medications, one sex partner over last decade. Yes to cannabis, no other drugs, no alcohol, no tobacco.
18 months ago I developed unexplained itchy hives along with night sweats. No allergens, switched to all clean products, did food elimination, etc. The only notable quality was that the skin symptoms would worsen until my monthly cycle began at which time the rash would almost immediately subside usually to return in 2 weeks. Triamcinolone was $700 so I passed on that and just dealt with it for about 6 months. Over the past year the hives have only returned a couple of times, the itching has remained and frequent skin lesions/ulcers started to occur.
The night sweats come and go in waves of about a week or two at a time. I also get day sweats during that time. I have less energy and feel tired often, the night sweats prevent me from getting good sleep.
A few months after the initial skin symptoms and night sweats began I developed some swollen lymph nodes. The swollen nodes also come and go, except for 3 specific nodes that have never "gone down" over the past year. The most significant ones are in my groin, below the hip along the crease of the leg on each side. The left side swells to about the size of an almond at times. The right side is small, like a pea, but hard. The other spots that sometimes "flare up" are the occipital, superficial cervical, axillary nodes I believe.
The left groin node causes a lot of hip and leg pain when it becomes very swollen. Bad enough that my gait has become quite strange at times and I am wearing out my right shoe every 8 weeks, the left shoe is fine though I assume because of how I favor it when standing and walking. That brought me to the doctor again. They did a CBC +c-reactive and sed rate. Other than slight anemia they found no indications of inflammation or malignancy.
With no change 2 months later I returned and after a physical exam the PA I have been seeing most often (my MD has a lot of patients and I typically only make appts on Monday, his day off) said she believes that I am just a "nodey" person. They did another workup and the lab results looked much the same as the ones from 2 months prior.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi, everyone! I am a Caucasian male, 34 years old, 186 cm tall and around 86 kg weight. I don't smoke and don't drink. Previous diagnosis: allergic asthma, chronic bacterial prostatitis (symptoms waned after taking autovaccine), removed 1 mole (dysplasia) 12 years ago.
I started having unusual symptoms almost four months ago after moving into a new apartment in China where I had allergic reactions to something. Symptoms included dermatitis, migraines and palpitations. I have already been diagnosed as someone who has allergic asthma. Before moving out of the place one month later I experienced a lot of stress trying to sort everything out - find a new place to stay for my family in the middle of covid19 wave in China when foreigners were not welcome in some communities.
To cut the long story short my symptoms were painful lymph nodes in armpits and groin, body aches in random spots, joint pain, chest pain, insomnia, abdominal pain and stuffed nose. After many days I started sleeping much better and eating normally, but lymph node swelling as well as body pain/joint stiffness persisted, also sometimes I feel pain in my hip too. I visited local hospital many times and most of the doctors say everything is fine with me. I had low potassium in the blood test, some nodules on CT scan and dust mite allergy confirmed also through blood being drawn. What is unusual is that I don't have fatigue yet. Now I mainly feel like my chest is a bit hurting, my sinuses are blocked, my armpits and joints are sore.
3 months after my last ultrasound my lymph nodes have mainly waned in size but still a bit swollen. Now doctors suggest lymph node biopsy, which I would like to do in my country when I return in a month.
I still have random muscle and joint pain, especially when I am exposed to something I react to (chemicals or smells) or stressful events. I have also noticed that my skin flushes after taking a shower.
What I would like to know is what other test could I do while I am still in China to get closer to diagnosis? Thanks in advance.

So I have had swollen and sometimes painful nodes (neck, armpit and groin), 3 months, did 3 ultrasounds and they said that the nodes themselves aren't concerning, was rejected an FNA
I noticed that I have been experiencing small circular bruises on my legs that sometimes come in clusters. They do go away eventually but I don't believe that I hit myself that much or anything. Pictures attached. I started noticing that happening before Christmas and it seems it's getting worse. https://ibb.co/BrHgTmG https://ibb.co/Jt2c9Wv
I noticed recently that my body creases are starting to get a tint (armpits, behind knee, inner elbow) that looks like it's yellowish or dirty. Pictures attached. https://ibb.co/KD7xdRt https://ibb.co/c664zML
I also noticed that I have a slight yellowish tint in my under eye area that I have had for at least a month.. I've always had eye bags and everything, but I don't remember having the yellow tint. Picture attached. https://ibb.co/hKgSFm2
-On my left shin, on the bone, I can feel a movable lump, a bit larger than a pea.
-months ago I started experiencing on and off joint and shin pain

Hello. Iβm 35F here, 101lbs 5β3β.
Occasional smoker.
I have posted here before and gave a pretty exhaustive run down of the symptoms Iβve been experiencing.
My question now is about test results; Iβve finally sorted my insurance and gotten in to a primary doctorβs office. Iβm seeing an NP there now, and I really like her so far.
Based on her physical exam and confirmation of a generalized lymph response this past Thursday, she ordered a vast amount of blood work. The results have come in over the weekend and she added some notes to my chart regarding the findings. She also scheduled an IV/oral contrast pelvic/abdominal CT scan for this upcoming Tuesday, and additional imaging on a suspicious left axillary node the following week.
She tested for various antibodies and Iβm negative for everything so far. She characterized my blood work as in remarkable thus far.
My question I guess has to do with what these results might mean? She doesnβt want to discuss anything with me until Iβve completed the additional tests. I had been hoping that these blood results might be a good thing, but as it is now, she seems mildly concerned and it is nagging at me a bit.
Do these results seem to indicate good news, bad news, or just plain clinically insignificant at this time, pending further testing?
Any insight or experience welcome!

About 3 weeks back I started feeling very weak and tired all the time and noticed a couple of lymph nodes being swollen on my neck. I went to see a doctor who recommended getting an ultrasound of my neck. The ultrasound showed that there are multiple lymph nodes swollen and an FNAC test is suggested. A couple of days later I got the first FNAC test done but it was a bad sample since there was too much blood in it, so then they did another FNAC, this time they took a sample from 2 nodes in my neck and one from my underarm ( lymph nodes are swollen all over my body). I got started on antibiotics- Amoxycillin and potassium Clavulanate 500 mg+125 mg along with paracetamol for a week. It didn't help at all
if anything I've gotten worse since then. A blood test showed that my body's WBC count was 15% higher. And the FNAC test stated - Smears from right and left cervical and right axillary lymph nodes are highly cellular showing plymorphous population of lymphoid cells comprising of centrocytes, centroblasts, scattered immunoblasts mature lymphocytes, plasma cells and scattered tingible body macrophages. Large lympho- histiocytic clusters and many scattered histiocytes are also seen with features of hemophagocytosis.
No granuloma or atypical cells noted.
Impression - features are of reactive lymph nodes.
The doctor ruled out tuberculosis and cancer. I took this report and went to another doctor who started got me started on another course of antibiotics namely Ceftum 500mg, celin 500mg and Allegra 120 mg. I have constant headaches and body pains so I have to eat 2-3 paracetamols per day. I also got tonsillitis 3 days back so its very hard to eat or drink anything.
It may be important to note that just 2 weeks before this started I was down with really bad food poisoning/ Gastritis for about 4-5 days . I dont do any drugs or smoke. I have not consumed alcohol or had any sexual contact in the last 2 months. I am a generally fit person. I go to the gym every day, eat a well-balanced diet along with multivitamins and about 4-5 litres of water per day.
There are a few questions I have
1). So far I have seen a pathologist and general physicians(3) only what kind of a specialist doctor should I go to for my condition
2). Why is it that no doctor wants to find out the cause for my sickness and is just giving me antibiotics without actively diagnosing what exactly i have?
3). How harmful is it to consume antibio
... keep reading on reddit β‘Could a long term (~2 years) generalized lymphadenopathy mostly affecting the torso and neck including regions such as supraclavicular, infraclavicular, axillary, neck level 6 (possibly affecting mediastal as well) displaying reactive characteristics on USG and touch (small, movable, soft etc..) and histological findings of an excised supraclavicular lymph node described as "Dermatopathic Lymphadenopathy" really be caused by "just acne" ?
Hi, my one year old had his MMR vaccine and Bexero 10 days ago. He has now generalized swollen lymph nodes in the groin, armpit, cervical region, and my husband thinks he could feel one in the supraclavicular region. Could this be a reaction to the vaccine or should it be investigated more? He went to the doctor yesterday, but the doctor only explored his neck and groin and gave him some antibiotics. My husband only found the supraclavicular one this morning. After the doctor visit.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
27 years old female. Usually healthy until 3 years ago after engaging in high risk exposure(multiple unprotected sex with hiv+ men) came down with sore throat, rash, headache, runny nose which all cleared up but ever since my health never been the same. Did some standard blood test and ultrasound all came back normal my ongoing symptoms for the past almost 4 years: persistent generalized lymphadenopathy,Oral thrush,Chronic Sinusitis,Joints pain,Fat loss, peripheral neuropathy ,Acid reflux, hair thinning, rectal bleeding after bm All this non specific symptoms that clearly shows my immune system is weak..if itβs hiv than wouldnβt it show on the test? Tested negative 29 days after my last exposure via 4th generation Ab/Ag blood test inconclusive/indeterminate(was told I need to come back and do another blood test but I never did because I was so scared I may be positive) instead I visited a free clinic after 44 days from my exposure and tested negative via the same 4th generation Ab/ag test and again after 1year and at 2 years after my last exposure both results negative

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
I thought my cat being indoors for the past 11 years would sort of put all of his pathogens in dormant state. He is blind and sweet but itβs the second time i am getting catch scratch disease from him and this time the swelling is on my forehead. I love him but he is only problem, he is mostly blind (thats how i found him) so he is very bad at things like shitting (spread shit in his pantry room on the walls, sometimes i find piece of his shit on my living room floor). It would be impossible for me to live in a house without him but I also wish i never took him in. I have been inhaling his hair for 11 years. I took him across the continent to USA, had an eye removed 2 years ago. I buy him only the best food, he drinks alkaline water, i always keep his litterbox clean. He is generally very happy and purrful. I donβt know what to do. For the next 2-4 weeks i am not going to be able to go to the office. Besides thereβs always risk lymphadenopathy can turn malignant. He probably has a lot more pathogens in his body because i found him in trash as a baby. It is freaking me out after this second infection in 10 years that he walks around freely on my bed, table. His shit is flying around as I am cooking. I canβt possibly control everything. I am sad and desperate because I canβt let him go because i love him and because even if i were emotionally detached from him he is too old to rehouse. What do i do?
