A list of puns related to "Gaussian blur"
I would like to edit a video so that a part of it transitions from very blurred to no blur. The box blur option which does support keyframing is not the kind of blur I want. I'd like to use Gaussian blur, but it doesn't seem there's any way to add keyframes for a Gaussian blur's sigma. What should I do to accomplish this?
Edit: I'm aware that the "Blur - deprecated" effect supports Gaussian blur and keyframing, but that effect is deprecated, so I don't think I should be depending on it.
This has been driving me crazy for over a year now and I'm finally looking for a solution.
See video below for a move I pull in a lot of my edits when displaying still images: Ken Burns and gaussian blur as a background while I scale and rotate the image on top. Looks nice BUT more than 50% of the time, I get these flickering visual artifacts on the blurred background. They're not too egregious on the example below (see left side of the screen) but sometimes it can be really distracting and ugly.
The only workaround I have found is to just keep clearing renders and re-rendering the clip until it is resolved but, as I usually have multiple uses of this technique in a single video, I often have to cut my losses and leave a few glitches in the final export.
Every update that comes along, I hope the issue might be resolved but sadly not. Any solutions? FCPX is otherwise the most rock-solid and bug-free editor I've ever used so what could be causing this? Any advice appreciated.

I am wondering what order is better when adding effects to LR images for training a model (BasicSR). Which order would likely train images to get overall better results? Thanks.
I want to draw a set of 3 drawings in the same scene but each of the foreground, midground, and background is in focus in each drawing respectively. So it moves from a close object, to a farther object, then the farthest object blurring the rest as it goes. How do I achieve this? Can someone give me a simple example?
If I could have one request,..
When you press on the alphabet to cycle through your apps, I would love if a gaussian blur was added to the wallpaper, just to make the reading of text and apps a little easier.
Even have it as an option that can be toggled on and off in the settings.
Please!
In motorcycle videos Gaussian Blur tracking does work, but the blurred area eventually always slides to some direction finally revealing the speedometer and then you have to reposition it (multiple times in a 20 min video). Is there any way to make it work better?
Hey all, so I'm working on a video and in one of my shots there is a pretty noisy background so I created a gaussian blur to smooth out the background and put an inverted shape mask over the object I don't want blurred. In the project itself this effect looks great, but when I export the video there are weird lines separating the colors. Anybody know why this is happening? See screenshots below, the first is from the project and the second is from the exported video....
I have data stored in a 3d vector. I want to apply gaussian blur in all 3 axes.
From what I've seen, there are only the fastblur crate and other image manipulation crates, but all of them blur only 2d data. Is there a way I can achieve this 3d blur? And if not, do you know any good articles about how to implement gaussian blur?
I just updated my MIUI and for who don't know they removed Gaussian blur effect when you pull down the notification bar. Personally I hated it. Because I use dark theme and when I pull notification bar, it just hurts my eyes and it's nothing near to esthetic. Is there any way to turn blur effect back on? Or can I just undo the last update?
