A list of puns related to "Game Builder Garage"
It can make 3d games but the in-depth videos say that there is a 2d sprite animator and also music creator, then apparently it'd not be that hard to create the basics of 2d platformer physics and controls and you can have a basic mario game. Not sure how flexible the enemy creation could be.. probably not that customizable but who knows, it looks pretty cool
Was browsing reviews of Game Builder Garage and came across this screenshot from Video Chums' Game Builder Garage Review. Looks like it's from the tutorial because Bob (the character who's talking) narrates the tutorials.
Is it an intentional AVGN reference? Coincidence? Seems like the former to me.
Iβve played Forager, Lethis - Path of Progress, Northgard, Townsmen - a Kingdom Rebuilt, and Two Point Hospital.
Itβs kind if a broad range, I know, but I enjoy the simpler building/management/simulation type game. Iβve played a little bit of Civ V I think on PC but it was a little too complicated for someone like me.
So, I have a 2.5 stall main garage I'd like to heat above freezing in the winter. I'll probably set the thermostat at 40 with the occasional bump to maybe 60 to do some work.
I mentioned this to a builder and he said "why not just put in a regular furnace?" (for clarity, not using my home furnace, using an additional "home" furnace for the garage)
So, since I don't have a good answer to that, can you guys help me out?
My thought is i'd put it in a finished closet with the heat blowing out one side and the return air on the other. If I have to run ductwork it seems like an inherently worse option.
Hello Reddit! Weβre Mastiff. You may know us as the publishers behind games like La Pucelle Tactics, Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure, Fight Crab for Nintendo Switch, Home Sweet Home and, most recently, the adorable city-builder Tinytopia. Today, weβve brought the founder of MeNic Games, Fernando CΓ³rdoba, to help us talk about the development of Tinytopia, as well answer any questions about the gameβs βSpooktacularβ V1.1 Update, which just launched!
MeNic Games is an award-winning indie game development studio based in Cordoba, Argentina. Specializing in fun, physics-driven games, the studio launched its debut title, BalanCity, in 2016, followed by Space Routine in 2020. Their most recent game, Tinytopia, allows players to construct charming toy towns and cities atop tiny terrain, combine building blocks to create new megastructures, test their skills in the physics-based Challenge stages, or simply unwind and obliterate everything with an array of cute catastrophes! The game is available on Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and, as of this morning, the Microsoft Store.
As for Mastiff, we were born on July 18, 2002. It was kind of a spin-out of Activision Japan, which had produced Tenchu and a bunch of other Activision titles. Bill had run Activision Japan and our Head Of Studios and leader of the Japan office, Mika, was a VP of Production at Activision. When we first met with MeNic Games at GDC three years ago, we were impressed with the personable and hardworking team. After having a blast with their game and deciding that it was in good hands, we just had to get involved.
For todayβs AMA/AUA weβll have the following participants:

However, between yesterday and now, Asterix and Obelix: Slap Them All! was updated to mention both Mac and native M1 suppor, via SteamDB.
Thereβs a few titles worth keeping an eye on this time.
Lianhai Billiards Club is an RPG pool/billiards/snooker game, which is probably the first time Iβve typed that. Billionworlds: Kingdoms is a cross platform multiplayer 4X game launching into Early Access and TestFlight, aiming to release on PC, Mac, iOS and Android. Mechajammer is a dystopian CRPG set on an jungle colony planet. The Captain is an FTL-like space exploration game, encountering events as you race the dark forces on the way to take out Earth.
This Is The President is a grand strategy political intrigue game by the team who have released This Is The Police. Itβs marked as having a Mac version on SteamDB, it isnβt showing up on Steam yet. QuizPoker has potential to be interesting if/when online multiplayer is added, Timeless Child - Prologue is a co-op puzzler, Magna Graecia launches into early access for those who like city buildersβ¦
And now I can finally touch on the ASI native games. Asterix & Obelix: Slap βem All is a 2D Beat βem Up based on the the two characters from the indominateable village. Starbase Gunship is a space shooter, where you control and upgrade your turret to shoot down enemy spacecraft before they take out the outpost.
Iβll just stop and do the list.
Lianhai Billiards Club - Zhiyi (RPG Billiards)
Billionworlds: Kingdoms - Billionworlds (4x Hex-based TBS (EA))
*Key: Maze of Illusions - Siene Games (2D Action-Adventure Platformer) (Mac version indicated)
Flesh - Pollapee Sroysuwan (2D Hand Drawn Sidescroller Shooter)

I was stumped today when someone asked me what other games were like the "race for good spaces on the map and trying to confirm awards while building cards in the service of doing both more efficiently and also getting points by spending money to hit the "terraform" button".
They weren't interested in just tableau builders.
They wanted a game that had a competition for both a map and objectives (which are points) while constantly looking at new ways to accomplish those more effectively each round. They didn't care for the engine building by themselves if it wasn't for standard actions being effective on their own.
My recommendation was Gaia Project...which sounded wrong. I couldn't think of a game that had both a tableau builder/tactical action builder with an interesting resource management puzzle that's attached to a "race game". Maybe Obsession comes close but honestly I didn't have a good answer on the spot. They disliked Wingspan so no go there. I was also thinking Underwater Cities but I don't remember if that game had awards but it definitely had end game scoring (which you drafted).
Oh, obviously they hated Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition.
Any thoughts?

TLDR: Construction company owner trains illegal immigrants how to build on our garage. Tons of mistakes, cost overages and delays and bad attitude from the owner.
I can't find a good sub for this story, so this is the one place I figured it would fit best. This takes place 3 years ago, so no advice or solutions needed, it's too late.
My SO and I decided to have a garage built by what seemed to be one of the only competent builders in our rural area. We'd read some reviews and figured he was a good choice and, TBH, there aren't many builders here, so we went with him. In order to make sure it would get done before fall season, I called in February to get on his schedule early. I described what we wanted, size, roof type, etc. He said he'd need to figure up some estimates and get back with me, and did so in about 2 weeks. We scheduled the build to start in April because it would take us about that long to get the area cleared of trees, and he'd take care of stump removal when he did the excavation for the site.
April came and went. No excavation. Typically, he was running behind as most construction companies do. No big deal, right? I figured we had plenty of time still. May comes and I give him a call. He sounds reluctant due to rains, but says he'll try to get out to the site and see what's up.
I meet him there and he has estimates with him that he wants me to sign right then. I said I'd take them and look them over but wasn't going to sign off until I had a chance to go over them with SO. He tells me it's too muddy to start excavation but he'll have some rock delivered for the area. I told him to make sure it was No. 2 rock as that's the ONLY type to use here for a first-time driveway. Everything else sinks into the mud. The guy comes while we're gone and delivers 53s. Mistake number one. (53s are typically used when you already have a good road base and it's been traveled on for a while.)
So, I call him up and bitch about the 53s and tell him that we need No. 2 on there and why. He said he'll remove the 53s and spread them on the driveway and use half for the construction fill (for the foundation concrete pour, etc.).
We go over the entire document he gives us (which oddly have no drawings or plans of any kind) and decide we need to get going on it, so we sign and we try give him a deposit (about a third of the cost) but he says "No, I'll just invoice you when we need some funds." Well, OK.

I bought a new inventory home in Houston Texas. It is a very nice place and was one of the only few options available. We had to close really quickly for personal reasons and basically got the deal done in 10 days from the time we saw the house. As part of the closing deal I noticed a problem on day 1 with the garage door and the builder assured me that it was not a big deal and they said they would fix it. I will list out the repair attempts in order and how individually they have failed to satisfy me. They have been great in all other aspects and all the other repairs except this one. They are starting to give me the impression that I am being to picky and that this is normal. This is my second home purchase and I had gaps in my old garage too but this one seems unusual to me. It is a 2 garage door home. Originally I was concerned that the garage door frames were constructed of unequal size. They builder has assured me they are the same. They said the slight height difference is because of the foundation sloping and that is normal.
1st problem) The problem was that the garage door had a gap on the top side which was visible from the outside and it was an eyesore. The gap was between the top of the door and the frame of the garage
1st fix ) they adjusted the garage door distance closing and the reduced the height of how much the door closed. This removed the gap between the top of the door and the frame.
2nd Problem) By adjusting the door closing distance there was a 2 inch gap on the bottom of the door where it meets the floor which is just a free passage for pests/ water dirt etc
If they adjust the closing distance then there is a gap on top.. if they close the gap on top there was a gap in the bottom
2nd fix) They added a 1 inch piece of wood on the top frame to reduce the gap and they adjusted the door further. Aesthetically they cannot add more otherwise the doors frames would visibly appear uneven.
3rd problem) There is still 1 inch gap on the bottom now. Much better than the previous but still an issue.
3rd solution ) they add a thicker weather strip to the door and it closed the gap...
4th problem ) The thicker weather strip folds randomly at the edges and then looks uneven. Also both doors look different.
4th solution ) - The place a thicker weather strip on both doors and the gap is gone and it looks even now from the outside.
5th problem - both door weather strip

I'm helping someone find a garage builder, googling in our area and looking on a contractor review site (which has terrible reviews in itself) called TrustedPros. I'm tossing about in a violent, stormy sea of fake negative reviews, fake positive reviews, smear campaigns, builders that seem real, builders that seem fake... where do I find authentic and verifiable licensed builders? How do I verify? Is there a public list? How do I protect myself from scams?
Edit: Some people wondering why quotes can vary so much. The main costs on this one, that could bring it up to 100k or more, are dealing with services. They'll have to move a gas line so it doesn't go under the excavation, install a sewer pump, trench 80 feet to the sewer connection at the road (zoning requires this), that trench might go under a sidewalk, the garage will be insulated, 240v power connections, routing power from the house, maximized building height, custom design... I understand how a basic, pre-designed unheated garage could be 40k, but it's also easy to drive the costs waaay way up.
Hello
Looking for a reputable garage builder with fair pricing.
Thanks
I know there was a post not that long ago for this same thing, but I couldnβt find it. Iβm looking to get a garage built and Iβm looking for some recommendations. Tell me about the experience. Iβd also like to know who I should avoid.
Or is it better to hire out this work separately? Looking to finish the dry wall, better lighting, flooring, more electrical outlets, etc
Looking to build an insulated, heated garage - Anyone have recco's from positive experiences with a garage builder?
Bought the house in 2014. Builder had bought and renovated it six months earlier. We began demolition of the garage this week in preparation for building an ADU. Concrete crew unearthed a tomb of asbestos siding that the builder buried in the garage rather than disposing of properly. The burden of proper disposal is now on us and I am curious of what legal action I may be able to take. FWIW the builder is no longer in business but still works locally as an insurance salesman. Thanks for your help. Here is the tomb.
Can I still install the Insteon garage controller with MyQ? I want to be able to control the garage with my Insteon keypad. Thanks.
Hi, I am Sairam, a new game developer. I'm working on OpenSkyCity, a city builder being made using Godot Game Engine. Please have a look into my newest video and provide me valuable feedback if possible, thanks! https://youtu.be/LTqcgU93XrI
Any recommendations for a contractor to put up a garage in Regina? Ideally someone who can see the whole process through - permits, concrete subcontractor, etc.
