A list of puns related to "Forward Operating Base 4"
They seem like they would be perfect for something like that in certain situations, having plenty of equipment, defenses, and being quite difficult to actively target, attack, or even get to unless the carrier itself allows you to get close to it.
I've always felt that the FOBs were always too small to be defended as some human stronghold, and I've always felt underwhelmed every time I return to allied FOBs, with only a few troops to guard.
Honestly, I feel a upgrading system for FOBs utilizing valor could be super useful and really satisfying, making FOBs feel like they actually mean something.
The best example of how this would work is by looking at the base system in Halo Wars 2.
If we could expand on our FOBs by adding additional barracks, armories, fortifications, defense towers, barricades/fences, and other buildings by placing them where you'd like (with limitations ofc), or built in preset positions in a way that still makes it all look cohesive.
As a FOB grows, more marines (and even rarely a surviving spartan) will being to populate the FOB.
Also, when rescuing marine squads, I always wonder where they actually go after I leave them. I just don't buy that they all vanish into thin air, only resulting in the few marines in current FOBs.
Instead, I would suggest that all rescued marines you leave behind get picked up by the pilot and have them dropped off at the nearest FOB, or disperse them evenly throughout all acquired FOBs.
This is so when I rescue marine squads, I feel like I'm actually making a difference and an impact, rather than just doing side quests.
I know a system like this is the least of 343's priorities, but I'm just suggesting this for a potential future update/dlc/mod. It saddened me when I couldn't establish a real expandable house in red dead 2, please don't do the same Halo Infinite
I heard it was quite luxurious for a combat deployment some I'm curious to know.
