A list of puns related to "Formula One tyres"
People could vote on the name of the new softest compound for 2018: megasoft, extremesoft or hypersoft. Tomorrow Pirelli will announce the name of this new compound as well as providing details on this compound and the full range of 2018 Formula 1 tyres. Teams will then be able to test the new 2018 tyres in the post-season test in Abu Dhabi on next Tuesday and Wednesday.
I'm finding myself unable to keep up with my own times for the last few laps of the race, and I think I feel like the car tends to understeer, kinda like the first laps, when the tyres are cold.
Is it just my imagination? Do I just lack consistency?
If not, am I doing something wrong? I'm thinking I'm maybe pushing too hard for the first 3 laps, but I just have to, if I want to avoid losing positions early on.
Can someone enlighten me please?
Basically the title and this 30- second clip. Like, how does contact area have any effect on traction? Shouldn't the two be independent since SA isn't a part of the friction equation?

Can someone explain this to me?
Hi everyone. Recently got this game (PCars2 anyways) and a steering wheel. Had an absolute blast with the Go Karts and Formula Rookie once I learnt how to handle the cars. Having a lot of trouble with formula C tho. I'm pretty useless without much clue what I'm doing wrong. Read that the tyres were bugged on the Brno career mode race, does anyone know if that's still the case or am I really just that bad? Had a good google and could only find stuff dated around 2017/18 and no confirmation that the issue was fixed. Just want to know whether I need to stick at it until something clicks or whether my hands are tied already.
Thanks for the help.
I tried the NTM7 just now, here are my findings:
Suzuka, morning, air 26C, track 28C
Tyre temp average after...1 lap = 78C, 3 laps = 121C , 5 laps = 130C
IIRC the tyres on the F3 should be at about 95C. I didn't spin or overdrive the car. I used the default high downforce setup, fully fueled. Laptimes were slow at 1:56-1:57 although the car became almost undriveable on lap 5 (2:04). I didn't have this issue before the patch. Can someone please explain why the tyres get so hot? What can I do about it?
The reason I'm asking this question is because the soft tyres don't last 35 laps, which forces me to pit stop midway through the race. I could always switch to Hard tyres, but I'm considerably slower on that tyre compound (I'm about 2/3 seconds slower to be precise) and the AI is relentless pursuing me.
I'm getting a bit frustrated with the game, so any help would be much appreciated.
Can anyone explain how the feel of tyres have changed over the years. I started following f1 in 2011 and seemingly the drivers go slower as to not wear them out too quickly. During qually Though they go as fast as possible so do you think they're comparable to years past even if only for a few laPs? Seems like tyres change as much as anything in this sport but I'm just curious as to how much this contributes to the overall driving experience and limits (not taking wear into account).
