Florida Tile Puns

I've seen and heard benefits of hot mop versus peel and stick underlayment with a tile roof. I'm seeing a lot more peel and stick on the many new roofs in the neighborhood here in South Florida. Anyone have opinions of what they prefer these days?

I’m looking for the 12in x 12in necromunda terrain specific tiles. They’re not available on GW site and eBay prices are pretty steep. Thanks

My parent’s have a 3,900 sqft home in Florida that was built in 2007. They were covered by Frontline up until today when Frontline decided to stop covering because of a few broken tiles on the roof. They completed a roof inspection which was fine, except for the broken tiles which have nothing to do with structural integrity. My dad is really stressed (75 years old) as we’re entering hurricane season and he’s looking for someone to insure the home. Anyone have any recommendations for coverage? Thanks!

My dad is helping remove the tile iny home and we are currently struggling to remove thinset from 3 bedrooms.

Has anyone in this sub been able to successfully remove thinset yourself? If so, any recommendations?

Just wondering if anyone waterproof their floors before they lay the tiles.

Just seeing if it’s worth the money.

Removing the carpet got rid of nearly all of the smell, but now it’s bare concrete, and she wants to tile it. Is there any kind of sealer I can put on the cement so the smell won’t ever come through, but the tile won’t lift? She’s 93, and doing great, but she’ll be selling the place or giving it to me or my sister when she passes, and I want to make sure it’s done right.

It is so frustrating trying to use government websites. I'm trying to order a car title from the state electronically. I can get all the way through to selecting what I need on the site, but it won't allow me to actually select my choice. I've tried a different computer, but I get the same result.

After uploading all my documents a month ago, I have heard nothing. I’m not surprised as I’ve been waiting on a referral Powerwall since January 2017.

My online estimate is about $72,000 with two additional Powerwalls. I’d love to get a timeline of sorts. I emailed the representative and did not get a response. I’m grateful that I’m not in a rush.

Obviously solar is a low priority at Tesla. I had a leased Model X and thought I’d wait to get another until to see if my referral Powerwall was ever delivered. I replaced the Model X with a Subaru. I guess that’s petty. The Powerwall is supposed to ship this month.

Bases (any size/shape, precision cut in MDF. Custom sizing available)

Movement trays in a series of sizes and variations of the amount of miniatures they can hold, also precision cut in MDF. (custom sizing NOT available on these.)

Texture material to make your bases pop (currently in over 20 styles.) There are two ways to get texture material. The first is on bases — all bases come with your choice of texture by default – the second is in baggies. These baggies come in 3 sizes (small, medium and large) and can be filled with any combination of textures you want. The pieces in baggies are random in size and shape.

Dungeon aids/Terrain: Currently these come in two types: Dungeon tiles and road kits. The dungeon tiles are 25mm squares of texture with rounded edges. They are easy to glue down to backing material (such as foam-board) and make your own layouts. The are designed to be an inexpensive way to get a dungeon layout quickly. Road kits make approximately 48 inches of roadway and come in approximately 7 pieces per kit. They are texture material attached to MDF and are similar to my bases, but on a large scale.

After a brief section for updates and sales, the post will be sectioned based on the product types described above.

Updates:

This section will house any updates about my options and schedule.

Current processing time is 1.5 - 2 weeks from order date to shipment. I have finished setting up the new workshop so we are resuming normal processing times and operations.

As we all know, a certain miniatures company just put out sets of plastic movement trays. We here at u/rakathu consider our MDF trays to be the superior choice. Not only are they sturdy, but you get them with basing texture included, and with few exceptions our items are the more affordable choice.

That other company is selling boxes of plastic trays for $40 retail. 18 x 5 slot 25mm trays, 12 x 5 slot 32mm trays, and 8 x 5 slot 40mm trays. This beaka down to approximately $2.22, $3.33, and $5 per tray respectively. We consider our MDF trays the sturdier and more reliable option, and hope you will too.
