A list of puns related to "Final Days"
This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
A Happy Cake Day
if she was having a change of heart. She was.
I just wrote 'n/a'.
It was a severe winter, and this particular night was bitterly cold. There was a loud knocking at the door which was opened to find Quasimodo shivering.
He was brought in, fed warm food and given a warm place to sleep. The next morning, at breakfast, Quasimodo very diffidently approached the Archbishop to thank him for sheltering him.
"Your Grace," he added, "please give me some work to do so I can earn my keep. I am very good at bell ringing."
"My son," replied the Archbishop, "that is indeed fortuitous timing, as our campanologist is leaving on a pilgrimage to Lourdes. I am wondering, though, with your gnarled hands, if you will not have some difficulty ringing the bells."
"Your Grace, I do not use my hands," Quasimodo explained. "Allow me to demonstrate."
They all went to the belfry, shooed away the bats, and Quasimodo started to ring the bells - with his head.
Everyone was impressed and he got the job. He would ring the bells every day at the appointed time.
For Christmas, he decided to play a symphony as a way to thank everyone. He played so beautifully that everyone was moved to tears.
For the grand finale, he decided to end with a crescendo, so as the last chimes were ringing out on the other nine bells, he drew back to the end of the belfry, ran to the tenth bell and took a flying leap at the bell.
And missed.
He couldn't stop himself, and flew straight out of the belfry to go splat on the pavement below, dead.
People gathered, the gendarmes were summoned, and they started asking if anyone knew who this poor fellow was.
Someone around spoke up, "I don't know his name, but his face rings a bell."

A man walks into a pub and orders three beers. The bartender raises his eyebrows, but serves the man three beers, which he drinks quietly at a table, alone.
An hour later, the man has finished the three beers and orders three more. This happens yet again. The next evening the man again orders and drinks three beers at a time, several times.
Finally, a week later, the bartender broaches the subject, "I don't mean to pry, but folks around here are wondering why you always order three beers."
"'Tis odd, isn't it?" the man replies. "You see, I have two brothers, and one went to America, and the other to Australia. We promised each other that we would always order an extra two beers whenever we drank as a way of keeping up the family bond."
The bartender and the whole town was pleased with this answer, and soon the Man Who Orders Three Beers became a local celebrity and source of pride to the hamlet, even to the extent that out-of-towners would come to watch him drink.
Then, one day, the man comes in and orders only two beers. The bartender pours them with a heavy heart. This continues for the rest of the evening -- he orders only two beers. Word flies around town. Prayers are offered for the soul of one of the brothers.
The next day, the bartender says to the man, "Folks around here, me first of all, want to offer condolences to you for the death of your brother. You know -- the two beers and all..."
The man ponders this for a moment, then replies, "You'll be happy to hear that my two brothers are alive and well. It's just that I, meself, have decided to give up drinking for Lent."
I barley made it out alive
My wife made me an egg a day since New Year's and I ate through the dozen yesterday. I thought it was finally over, but just my luck... Today β it's fried egg the 13th.
The outside of the box said 2-4 years.
The shop owner finally confronted me about it the other day and said "How come every time you're around my candy starts to disappear?"
So I told him "Well I'm no magician, but I do have a couple Twix up my sleeve."
Once there was a millionaire who had a collection of live alligators. He kept them in a pool at the back of his mansion. The millionaire also had a beautiful daughter who was single. One day, he decides to throw a huge party. During the party he announces, "My dear guests, I have a proposition to every man here. I will give one million dollars or my daughter to the man who can swim across this pool full of alligators and emerge unharmed!" As soon as he finishes his last word, there is the sound of a large splash. The guests all turn to see a man in the pool swimming as fast as he can. They cheer him on as he keeps stroking. Finally, the swimming man makes it to the other side unharmed. The millionaire is so impressed, he says, "My boy, that was incredible! Fantastic! I didn't think it could be done! Well, I must keep my end of the bargain. Which do you want, my daughter or the one million dollars?" The man says, "Listen, I don't want your money. I don't want your daughter, either. I want the person who pushed me in that water
Shoutout to u/TomrummetsKald for the original post that gained so much traction. This is my take on that joke if it was told by the late, great Norm MacDonald. Feel free to read in a voice that reminds you of moths or professors of logic.
A priest, a minister, and a rabbit walk into a blood bank. The nurse says to the rabbit, βOh, what makes you want to give blood today, rabbit?β And the rabbit begins to explain.
βOh, nurse, it was such a long journey to get here. You see, I was very sickly as a child. I had a rare anemia of the blood that has been passed down through my family across the generations. There was little that the doctors could do. But then, one day, my older brother died in a horrible, fiery crash, and I was too weak to give him the blood that could have saved his life.
βI became terribly distraught and sought out the counsel of our family priest, who told me the best way to get over my guilt and my shame was to become strong and physically conditioned so that one day even I, with my rare anemia of the blood, could give the blood that could not save my brother, but could save other rabbits.
βSo with the priest by my side, I trained for years, until one day a doctor cleared me to safely give blood. I was so proud, and I knew my brother would not die in vain.
βBut when I arrived at the blood bank, to my *shock* and *horror,* I remembered my other brother who died of a heroin overdose, and it awakened in me a deep-seated phobia of needles!
βFortunately, our family priest knew of a minister who specialized in helping rabbits overcome deep-seated phobias. (Thereβs an obscure seminary in Wyoming that teaches the craft.) It was another long and hard road, filled with many sleepless nights, but he helped me build my spirit as strong as my body, until one day I found that I was no longer afraid of needles!
βAnd so, I, a rabbit who has been through so much, invited the priest and the minister to accompany me to the blood bank today, to share in this great moment in which I am finally able to give blood in honor of my dear, deceased brothers.β
When the rabbit finished his story, the nurse was quite moved.
βMy goodness, that is quite an inspirational story, rabbit. And how good it is that you, the priest and the minister, were able to accompany th

He's a man of few words and was never outgoing or very affectionate to his kids, his side of the family is pretty conservative as well. A very as-seen-on-TV-in-the-90s dad with a handlebar moustache and multiple different-but-same polo t-shirts. Her mum passed a few years ago and they are even more distant than ever. It was finally the big day and she told him in front of a couple of us. The silence seemed to stretch on into the infinite. After some time, he got up, and without even a slight change in expression he said- "so I guess you can't see me now".
...
More silence

"Because I'm a transparent geddit?" With the most gigantic smile I've EVER seen him crack.
It's been 5 days and he's been cracking the same joke on every opportunity he can, ever since.
Edit- I forgot my favorite part- he asked her if she would like to add her mum's name in her new one because he missed saying it. I BAWLED my eyes out.
Edit2: obligatory I can't believe how much this blew up! We met at a family gathering yesterday and he was still chuckling so i decided to post this. I sent my cousin this post and she says he's very proud of himself. Thanks for all the awards! This is crazy!
I see that there was some confusion about the moustache description - we're a first generation Indian - Hindu family, and it's traditional especially for the older generation I think.
It's a cute moment, but not everyone is as positive. Some neighbors, people at school, a teacher or so (it's just a phase! you'll ruin your life!), and she's been handling calls all day from AH family members who only call for gossip.
They didn't get along at all - constant bickering, calling cops on one another, so on and so forth. It finally came to a head one day when they got into a fight and the swordfish killed the guy.
Moral of the story is that those who live by the swordfish, die by the swordfish.
The bitch took all the other box sets.
John and Susie a decide to go to prom together. Of course John has to buy tickets, and he waited till the last minute and so did a bunch of other guys, so John has to wait in the ticket line for almost an hour. About a week later, it's time to get John a tuxedo and Susie a dress, and they again waited til the last minute so the shops were full. John waits in the tuxedo line for almost 2 hours. Susie had it even worse, the dress line took her almost three hours. Then, the day before prom, John has to get flowers and so does every other guy going to prom and John waits in the flower line for another hour. The big day finally comes, and everybody else got to prom early so John and Susie end up in the entrance line for the first hour of prom. At this point they finally get to dance for a while and Susie tells John she's getting thirsty, so John goes to get them some punch. You'll never believe this, but there is no punchline.

I am feeling less crappy now.
They start chatting and the Gen Z kid says that social justice issues are the biggest problem facing the world, and that the white supremacist patriarchy is a plague on society. > The boomer waves this off and says the kids these days are just too sensitive, and that he fought for civil rights in the sixties and did his part.
They go back and forth on this for a while, and finally the Gen Z kid says, "we're just not gonna settle this. We don't see eye to eye. You're too old and out of touch and I'm too young and inexperienced. What we need to do is ask a Millennial with a PhD in sociology for their opinion."
The boomer says, "that's a great idea!" And yells, "HEY BARTENDER, C'MERE!"

I always include a dad joke on the schedule for my employees (which this sub helps out with when I can't think of one, thank you). Next Friday is my last day, and this is the last schedule I'm sending to them. We work in a bookstore, and my final, cringe inducing joke to them is:
After careful consideration, I've decided to leave my job at the bookstore. It's time to turn the page to a new chapter in my life
Pretty bad even by my standards, but it felt right.
She says - God bless mommy and god bless daddy and god bless grandma and... goodbye grandpa. He asks her - why did you say that? I don't know, I just felt like saying it. The next day, grandpa drops dead. Wow, thinks dad, that's an odd coincidence. A month later at bedtime, the daughter says - God bless mommy and daddy. And goodbye grandma. Sure enough, the next day grandma breathes her last earthly breath. The dad realizes this is more than a coincidence, but he is not sure what to do. He doesn't want to disturb his wife by telling her (Grandma and grandpa were her parents). Months go by and one night the man is listening to his daughter saying her prayers at bedtime - God bless mommy....she turns her head and looks straight at him - and goodbye daddy. What!? are you sure honey? She nods. The man's heart begins racing and he breaks out in a sweat. He is so upset, he can't sleep at all that night. The next day he goes off to work, but locks himself in his office. He takes the phone off the hook, cancels all his meetings and awaits the inevitable. He stays at work past 5 because he feels secure there. He watches the hours tick by. Finally it is midnight and, drenched in sweat, he realizes he has cheated death. He drives home drenched in sweat and with all his nerves frazzled. His wife is up and waiting for him - Where the hell were you today??! He replies - Don't shout, I've had an absolutely miserable day. His wife then says - You had a miserable day? I'm the one who had a miserable day! First, the milkman drops dead on the steps...
There was this man who was the top horse trainer in the world. He could brake any horse in the matter of a couple days.
One day a very wealthy man wanted a racing horse that was reliable enough that he could bet on it and win almost every time. So naturally he goes to the horse trainer to get the best horse money could buy.
Later that day he was on the trainers ranch looking for a horse. At the top of the hill next to the barn was the most beautiful horse to have ever walked the planet. It was the perfect racing horse. The wealthy man asked, βHow much for that one on the hill?β
The trainer replied, βYou donβt want that one it doesnβt look good.β
The wealthy man said, βIt looks fine to me. Iβll take that one.β
The trainer said once again, βYou donβt want that one, it doesnβt look good.β
The conversation went like this for a bit longer and they finally decided that he will buy it for $200. The wealthy man thought that he had scored an amazing deal on this horse.
He grabs the horse and tries to lead it. The horse follows but runs into the man every time they stop. They hadnβt made it off the ranch yet and the horse ran into a fence post that it most definitely should have seen. The wealthy man turns to the trainer and says, βHey! You sold me a blind horse!β
The trainer then says, βI told you he doesnβt look that good.β
It's about time...
I teach high school seniors and have been starting each day with a joke of the day. Many of them have been from this sub. My seniors have nominated me to give the graduation speech this year and have requested that I give them one final joke of the day. So dads, help me with a final dad joke that will get all the knees slapping!
The story really sucks you in and helps you understand the gravity of the situation.
βDaddy, where do I come from?β
His poor father started sweating, knowing that one day his son would want to know all about βitβ. He looked around for his wife to take on the explanation, but she was out at the shops. It was no good, his father thought. βItβs time he knewβ and took the young lad to one side and explained how mummy and daddy met and then married and wanted to produce a baby and, well, you know the rest. After much awkwardness and embarrassment, after nearly an hour, the dad finally reached the point in the story where his son was born in hospital. The young boyβs face just stared back, mouth open and speechless. βSo, tell me son, why do you ask?β
The boy, still in shock, said. βBilly Clark in our class, said he was from Chicagoβ
A Greek and an Irishman were sitting in a Starbucks one day comparing their two cultures.
Over a double latte, the Greek mentions "We built the Parthenon, you may recall, along with the Temple of Apollo."
"Aye, and it was the Irish that discovered the Summer and Winter Solstices."
"But it was the Greeks who gave birth to advanced mathematics."
"Granted, but it was the Irish who built the first timepieces."
Knowing that he's about to deliver the coup de grace, the son of Athens points out with a note of finality: "Keep in mind that it was the ancient Greeks who invented the notion of sex as a pleasurable activity!"
"Aye! True enough, but it was the Irish who got women involved."
So, I'm a new-ish dad, and I now consider myself an apprentice in the art of dad jokes. How's this one?
I'm helping out my kid with his math. All looks good, except there's a weird loop at the top of one of his '1's.
Son: "Is that right?"
Me: "What's that thing there, with the loop?"
Son: "That's a 1. Is it right?"
Me: "Right? Even Better. I'd say you got a HOLE IN 1."
Son: ".... daaaad... ugh.."
At long last, I'm not at the receiving end of these ;)
Secretly (when my wife was out), I'd ask her "who do you love more?", and praise her when she said "dadda!". This has been going on for weeks now.
The other day, my wife got home and I wanted to show her my little 'trick'. So I asked our daughter, "Who do you love more?", in which case she replied "dadda!" and ran towards my wife (which is very clearly her favourite btw).
My wife, who didn't care much for the new thing I taught our daughter, bent down and picked her up to cuddle with her. Her facial expression changed a bit, then she laughed. She looked at me and said "well, she ran to me as she said that, and her diaper is full... so clearly she was full of crap when she said that!"
My wife is now in on the dad jokes and won this one!
Edit: Bolded the text to emphasize what part of this story was the dad joke...
Final Edit: My wife was surprised at how much this blew up! She says thanks to everyone, but she has no idea what the awards are for (since she doesnβt use Reddit). π
So 3 guys are walking in a forest. And one of them finds a lamp, he rubs it and a genie comes out and says "you've freed me, I will grant you all 3 wishes each"
the first guy says "I want 1 billion dollars"
the second guy says "I wanna always be the richest person alive"
and the third guy says "I wish my left arm spun clockwise permanently"
the genie says "ok now for your second wish?"
The first guy says "I wanna look perfect"
the second guy says "I wish I never got sick or diseased" and the third guy says "I wish my right arm spun counter clockwise permanently"
the genie says "ok and for your final wish?"
The first guy says "I wanna marry the most beautiful women ever"
the second guy says "I wanna stay 29 years old forever"
and the third guy says "I wish my head was constantly nodding"
the genie wishes them all good luck disappears, and the men go their separate ways.
Years later they meet up and chat about how things have been. The first guy says "I invested the money and multiplied it several times, and so I am very rich and my wife is still very beautiful" the second guy says "I'm still the richest man alive and I've built charities with a fraction of my wealth, and I haven't aged a day" the third guy comes over to them with his arms spinning and his head nodding and he says "guys, I think I messed up".
