I donβt get it. Like the FBI is only 3 months academy, while say Pennsylvania State Police is 6 months. I thought Federal LE has more paperwork so their academy would be 6 months at least. But what does state and local police do that gives them an extra 3 months as opposed to federal?
After living and working in Washington DC politics, I'm now able to recognize patterns national attention takes. These patterns do not correlate with what is most urgent (not that I know what is most urgent). I think the problem comes down to politically ambitious people constantly virtue signaling, and [mostly unpaid] lobbying on behalf of powerful groups.
