A list of puns related to "Fantasy Focus (podcast)"
Someone asked if itβs a good idea to draft players on the same team.
Field Yates responded with a Wess saying when it comes to fantasy football. βDraft good football players.β He wished Chris well when it came to his fight with cancer. Itβs about the 34 minute mark on the August 26th episode.
Itβs nice to see Wess getting love around the industry outside of NFL Network. Keep fighting cancer Wess!
I believe it all started when I started listening to The Fantasy Footballers about a month ago. They are insightful, informed, and most importantly seem to be always correct with their analysis. (Not to mention they also make it fun to listen when you can tell they are genuinely having a good time) But now trying to listen to Matthew Berry is literally impossible. He spends more time trying to be funny (key word trying) than he does even trying to talk about fantasy advice. The entire show is a complete clusterfuck with Field Yates being the only person with any real insight or any sembelence of keeping the show on track. I just can't anymore. It was my first every fantasy podcast but I think it's time to put it to bed
How does this make you guys feel? The 06010 has had a special place in my heart for years. I feel sad knowing it won't be the same in the future. A small fantasy-related piece of me died today.
*Edit: So the podcast as an entity will be going away after this season. Berry will still be podcasting regularly, but the 06010 as we know it will cease to exist entirely. Fuck.
*Edit 2: Glad to hear this show has as special a place in many of your hearts as it does mine. Let's hug this thing out, bros.
Has anyone else noticed that the 06010 podcast is now Preventing ad skipping? I'm trying to figure out if there's a workaround you all would suggest to skip the ads or if there are any commercial free fantasy football podcasts you all can recommend? I'm a new dad who tries to cram his info in as quickly as possible!
Is it just me or does there seem to be overwhelming tension between Matthew Berry and the rest of the crew? This morning started off well, but quickly turned south. When Berry senses people's irritation, he doubles down. But there seems to be something wrong behind the scenes. Am I crazy? Did I just not notice this stuff before with Nate and Podvader?
I've been a happy listener of the fantasy focus podcast for 7 years, but I think the podcast has been terrible this year.
Not because of field or Daniel, they're solid. Its because of Matthew. He has become way more annoying than in the past. I can't take the stephania voice anymore and his antics have become too frequent.
Here is my question.
If nate was still on, would the de-evolution of Matthew berry still have occurred? Or did nate hold back Matthew from being too annoying for the past 7+ years?
Beginning Monday, ESPN's Fantasy Focus Podcast with Tristan Cockroft and Eric Karabell is going into their 'in-season' schedule but unfortunately this year that means Monday, Wednesday and Thursday only.
This has always been my favorite podcast slightly ahead of the CBS one due mainly to Tristan Cockroft being the best analyst out there, but now my loyalty is switching to CBS.
Godwin talk starts at 15:54
I was excited to see that Chris Godwin was being talked about by Matthew Barry, Stephania Bell and Field Yates, as Iβm an avid listener of their podcast. But they butchered the topic of Godwin due to their lack of research and Iβm going to vent here.
They came to the conclusion that heβs a βDeSean Jacksonβ-type, speedy WR. Iβve always looked at him as more of a Mike Evans-type myself. They balked at the notion of Koetter calling him a starter, saying it is just camp talk/coach speak.
I donβt really expect the national media to be as in-tune as our local beat writers and fans, but I donβt feel like any research was done as to how he is actually showing out and being utilized in camp. If Godwin keeps flying this low under the radar and teams arenβt prepared, I think heβs going to have a shockingly good season.
EDIT: And just to add, it doesnβt appear that they even acknowledge the possibility of Godwin playing the outside, and Jackson lining up in the slot.
Listened to the most recent one and it is painful. Dare I say that I miss the Weasel himself, Nate Ravitz? He was a great host and really kept Matthew on track. They are just trying desperately to find a new sidekick, but it just feels like the guys they are recruiting are just showing up and going through the motions. @DougEspn might have been the worst one to date. My .02
Coincidentally, I'm a huge Colts fan and this podcast is focused on the AFCS. I'm seriously runninng out of lube to jerk to.
Also, didn't realize that Tillian was a huge fantasy football fan!
Started school yesterday and I hate walking around listening to just music. The league in I'm is a dynasty and i want to listen to a podcast that follows dynasty rankings and philosophies. Most I've come across are normal re draft rankings, even though that still helps it's not what I'm looking for
I'm looking for suggestions on new podcasts. For years I have listened exclusively to Fantasy Focus, but I struggled last year and I can't take it anymore. Tristan Cockroft's need to constantly make bad jokes, laugh at his own jokes, lack of understanding that Eric K doesn't get all the references he puts down, it's just so painful. It actually makes me cringe. Love all the actual info Tristan gives, but the need to make the podcast like it was with Nate and Matthew is so off-putting.
I have tried the CBS podcast but I didn't enjoy it either.
I want something that focuses on points leagues. (That's another thing I don't like about FFocus, they admit to not knowing much about points leagues)
Both my leagues are points and are 7x7 and 10x10, so anything that focuses more towards that area would be great!
If you have any suggestions please let me know, if not, thanks for letting me vent!
Edit: Points H2H leagues
Update: Thanks for all your help guys, will give CBS another chance and sounds like I will like Sleeper and Bust
All things considered, I think Field Yates is doing a great job. He often talks too fast but I think he's very knowledgeable.
My issue is how Matthew Berry treats Yates. He's constantly cutting him down and taking jabs at him and trying to make him look stupid and not in a comedic way. It's like he doesn't like that Yates isn't Nate. I think their chemistry together is really poor and it's Berry's fault. Berry's not giving him anything to work with and he's becoming more annoying over time. I'm actually a bit surprised that he's THE Fantasy Guy considering he's a bit of an obnoxious dweeb.
Has anyone else noticed this?
More than as few of you have to listen to the fantasy focus podcast from ESPN. Do you think there is any way we can broker a deal with Podvader to ensure who ever wins 'The Horn' this year is assured a spot?
Lately I've been having playback issues with ESPN'S Fantasy Focus Podcast. While I'm listening the audio will jump back, between 5-20 seconds and replay. I'm using Podkicker, and have nothing attached (Bluetooth, headphones) that could account for it.
Just curious if others are having the same issue. These audio issues, plus the content issues (worse since Nate left), have made the podcast unbearable.
Thanks!
IΒ΄m looking for fantasy (not just books, but video games, series and movies), where the themes of metaphysics are explored. IΒ΄m a big fan of the elder scrolls universe and metaphysics are one of the most interesting thing about it.
Do you know other fantasy worlds/stories, where concepts like foundation of reality, role of the soul, other spiritual dimensions etc. are explored?
Thanks for all recommendations!
Hey /r/leagueoflegends!
We're a few friends who have recently gotten together to try to do a weekly podcast on the LCS with special attention paid to fantasy LCS. We're just getting started and will be having our first streamed podcast today (Monday) at 3 PM EST. We plan to post those VODs to Youtube as well as regular articles on our website. Stop by and say hi sometime!

www.twitch.tv/fantasyfocuslcs
Sorry if the website is a little bland right now! We don't have a web designer on staff at the moment so we have a noob doing it in HTML he learned in the Myspace days...
If you'd like to contact us, we can be reached at feedback@fantasyfocuslcs.com
EDIT: Thanks to the 15 people who tuned in at one point! We will be doing this every Monday at the same time. The vods should be up tomorrow or the next day on Youtube and we are looking into setting up itunes for them as well.

Hi everyone.
I've just finished Malazan today which I loved but now im looking for something that's not 20 books long. Looking for something that has a focus on the politics and political "battles" between nobles and kings as I'm a little burned out on large scale battles and dragons just now. Particularly love a good ball scene.
I've already read The Goblin Emperor which I enjoyed but I thought I'd mention it as I'm sure someone would suggest it.
Any suggestions would be great!
I am looking for a birthday present for my girlfriend and i thought i could maybe combine her fantasy love with her other love music. She plays a Violin and an Organ. Is there any fantasy novel out there that you could recommend me. I don't have a clue how those two could be combined but maybe you all have exactly what i need without me knowing what a need.
wish you all a great and lovely new year.
Just letting y'all know
PodCastle bring it's listeners stories from across the fantasy genre week after week. Over the years, PodCastle has been hosted by many talented individuals including (but not limited to) Anna Schwind, Anne Leckie, Graeme Dunlop, Rachael K. Jones, Jen R. Albert, Khaalidah Muhammed-Ali, and Setsu Uzume. The hauntingly beautiful theme music is provided by the band Shiva in Exile.
However, there is one host who still casts a large shadow over the PodCastle team. During his time as host and editor, Dave Thompson helped to define PodCastle. It wouldn't be much of a stretch to say that, for a while, he pretty much was PodCastle. His catch phrase "aaaaand welcome back" is still very much in use. Dave's impact is still felt in everything that PodCastle continues to do, and I think, will continue to be felt for years to come.
I want to also take a moment to thank the many hard working behind the scenes people who make PodCastle possible.
So, Iβve assembled a list of their stories that involve alternate history, time travel, retropunk, and historical fantasy. I hope you find at least a few that you enjoy.
Link to the list on my blog: https://drakoniandgriffalco.blogspot.com/2018/03/the-alt-hist-file-podcastle.html?m=1
Basically the title. Iβve been reading about Miyamoto Musashi and would like any fantasy recs concerned primarily with a single focal character on a journey, or pilgrimage.
According to his Twitter profile - https://twitter.com/randyscottespn.
I like him as a SportsCenter anchor and I'm hoping he brings some value to the show. His first showing on Gamble On Gates?: 7/9/15 Podcast was actually pretty good. I know there are a lot better Podcasts out there, but it's always good to inject some new blood into the Fantasy Podcast stream.
UPDATE: I've looked at the art of each and every one of y'all who reached out, and I'm blown away by everyone's talent! I have settled on an artist with whom I'd like to work, but I appreciate everyone's time and wish all of you good luck!
For my podcast I will be narrating self-written as well as crowdsourced fantasy and science fiction short stories, role playing as an innkeeper telling these tales to my travelers. I envision the cover art to be either a landscape of my inn or the inn's sign/logo similar to something like this, but I am open to creative input! Please don't hesitate to reach out if this sounds interesting.
ESPN H2H Points, 16-team Auction League, Standard Scoring, OP Utility (2nd QB) slot. All the details can be found here: The Real Man's League
I've always wanted to try a league in this format. Anyone else interested?
Hi all!
So, I'm not entirely sure how to describe what I'm looking for but I'll give it a shot! I'll start with an example: I am listening to The Lord Of The Rings for the second time, because I absolutely love the feeling of being drawn into the world; the detail in the environment, the focus on warmth, friends, storytelling, good food, etc. is all extremely comforting to me. I have yet to encounter another book that has given me the same "cozy" kind of feeling, but I'd like to branch out more!
I really love a lot of the traditional fantasy elements in stories, especially magic, wizards and forests! I would love more of a focus on animals too in some way, either being characters themselves or simply being in the story more. Another thing I especially love about LOTR is that none of the main characters are teenagers, they're all 30+ which I find easier to relate to.
Anyway, if this makes sense to anyone out there and you might know of a series/book that would fit what I'm looking for please let me know, I would be eternally grateful! <3
Don't have the link or anything as I'm on my phone at work today, but thought people might be interested.
Anyone else notice the increased tension between Nate Ravitz and Matthew Berry on their Football Fantasy Focus podcast? I used to love the show and have listened since its creation, but, increasingly, it seems Matthew just wants to talk about himself and promote himself. This reduces Nate's role to just a mere host. I think Nate's advice is actually better than Matthew's advice. Anyways just wanted to point this out to anyone who wants to hear it or thinks its relevant.
Hey, Iβm running a Worlds Without Number campaign and my party has a lot of interest in going into delves to look for sci-fi technology. So far, Iβve been reflavoring everything, but Iβm curious if there are any good OSR modules which fit this theme. Sound off! Thanks in advance.
I've been listening to Matthew Berry, Nate Ravitz and Podvader for years now and like the catchy theme song ("Fantaseeeeeee Foh-cus!"). Link to episodes here: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/podcast/archive?id=2942325
But there's been new versions by the same artist each year and they have been getting progressively worse. I'd dare say the latest version is the most amateur-sounding one yet. It makes me long for the original.
Is it just me?
