A list of puns related to "Failed supernova"
We learned in the most recent season of Discovery that Spock's quest for reunification of Vulcans and Romulans proved successful in the long run. Somewhat surprisingly, though, the destruction of Romulus does not come up in the conversation. (From an out-of-universe perspective, perhaps we can explain this due to the shuffled and disrupted production schedules of season 3 and PICARD.) We know from ST09 that at least one Romulan was singularly unimpressed by Spock's efforts -- what about everyone else?
In the "Countdown" comic, Spock's presence on Romulus has been regularized to the point where he is an ambassador and can directly address the Senate. Does something like that happen in the Prime Timeline as we now know it from PICARD? If he is associated with the rescue effort in a highly public way, that seems to put him in a position similar to Admiral Picard -- and we know that he is not always viewed favorably by the Romulans, even though the abandonment of the rescue effort was not his fault. Could the fact that Spock (apparently) gave his life make a difference here?
Another question is when reunification started. We don't have any direct evidence from PICARD, but it would make sense for at least some Romulan refugees to find their way to Vulcan, particularly if they are followers of Spock. It would also make sense for Vulcan in particular to make special efforts to accomodate the Romulans -- information that Nero would of course not be privy to while he's simmering in Rura Penthe over in the Kelvin Timeline. Breaking with the Federation to rescue their long-lost relatives -- particularly after losing one of their most illustrious citizens to the effort -- would certainly highlight their generosity and soften the Romulans' view of Vulcan.
All this is speculation, of course, but I wonder how others make this narrative fit together. We unfortunately are unlikely to have any canonical account of these events due to Leonard Nimoy's death, but it does seem like the kind of thing where a novel or fresh comic series might be warranted.... In the meantime, we can develop awesome fan theories so we can inevtiably be disappointed in the semi-official story that emerges! Huzzah!
https://gizmodo.com/a-massive-star-has-disappeared-without-a-trace-1844207424
This article mentions a failed super nova which I had never heard of.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Failed_supernova
At the end of this article>> Theoretically, a red supergiant star may be too massive to explode into a supernova, and collapse directly into being a black hole, without the bright flash. They would however generate a burst of gravitational waves.
Why would there be burst of gravitational waves? The object is compacting rather than two objects orbiting. The center of mass, and the mass is unchanged, its just getting more concentrated.
How large must a star be to not generate a super nova? In teh wiki article it says N6946-BH1 is 25 solar masses. How can that be too massive to make a super nova but other larger stars produce super nova?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supernova
This article seems to support the idea that 25 solar masses will produce a supernova.
I have a question about scenarios concerning Jupiter, it's magnetosphere, and the expansion of the sun.... If the sun were to die, would Jupiter; the planet some feel is a failed star, give to the sun that is enveloping everything and speed up the process(adding gas to the flames so to speak)? Or would the ingredients from the sun that Jupiter was missing, somehow activate and ignite Jupiter as a star, becoming the new star of the solar system, and thus pulling in the surviving outer planets into a new gravitational pull? (Or would it just pull them in and destroy everything anyway, just explode, or would the placement of the remaining outer planets make it difficult to pull in properly and create a collision course?)Β And if this were a at all possible scenario, would the magnetosphere help in saving Jupiter's moons, making them the new inner planets and possibly making Europa inhabitable(melting the surface ice and creating water)? Or would they be too close to Jupiter (as a star) to survive? The thought just randomly crossed my mind and now that I'm reading it, it seems kind of dumb to ask. But I actually really want to know....... Also when I say "if the sun dies and Jupiter is able to possibly absorb it and become a star" I mean, when the sun starts dying and is basically expanding and shedding its outer layers, will Jupiter be able to reach/take those ingredients and ignite itself? And in this scenario, do you think the remaining core of the sun or the White dwarf of what was once the sun would be close enough to Jupiter (the star) that it would start essentially stealing back those ingredients (plus whatever ingredients Jupiter already had) in sort of a binary star system and create a Type1A supernova?? I'm just curious if there's any possible way. And curious as to if this could even theoretically occur. Though I doubt it. To more fine-tune the questions...... "Is it possible for Jupiter to amass it's needed ingredients from a shedding red giant to become a star?" "Would Jupiter somehow be able to acquire enough mass to be even a small star?" And "if these are possible, would our White dwarf sun make this a binary system resulting in supernova?"...... Thanks for your time

Tried my 3rd 1 Cart, 15 min tempered teostra investigation. While the first two went flawless, the third one didn't go too well - used my foresight slash too early during a supernova and died miserably.

Its about a Supernova in the Dark Ages, I think the 1054, though it may have been another from that era. Its short, I think from the intro to a book, about how there are observations of this supernova from China and cave paintings in North America, but no records from Europe.
It ends with this haunting line about how, though there were people in Europe at the time "no one had the curiosity to look up and see"...

History with the Law of Attraction
To say that that I was a non-believer is putting it lightly. I thought this concept and all its derivatives were by all intents and purposes a method by which people would grasp on straws to give meaning to their hopes. The fact that I did not even believe in a higher power or anything of the sort compounded my disdain for this "Law" even more.
The notion that believing in something hard enough until it hardens into fact sounds like some class A BS and coming from a science-bound intensive background made me believe less and less every time that concept would rear its mythical self into my life.
Ironically while writing this post, certain past situations are now literally playing out in my mind with the blaring thought that I was unconsciously manifesting them into existence. They did come to fruition but at the time, in Neville's own words: βThe changesΒ which take place in your life as a result of your changed concept of yourself always appear to the unenlightened to be the result, not of a change of your consciousness, but of chance, outer cause, or coincidenceβ This specific scenario pertains to an SP, who after weeks of agonizing over them, my mind literally shifted realities(un-consciously) into a self-concept of I AM literally the most amazing person and they will come back crawling and I literally and wholeheartedly believed in that and left it there.
A month later they did, even as it was happening, my mind was not racing with ideas or thoughts or beliefs about the Law but that was because I absolutely believed the shit that I said to myself and never questioned it.
The point of no return
Over the months of November and December 2021, I had an insane amount of downtime and during the first week of November specifically, My schedule was free. I basically spent it watching Netflix and being on TikTok. After a few scrolls past the thirst-straps and banana pudding recipes, a TikTok showed up about the Law of attraction in which a woman was replying to a woman with the advice that she should work on her self concept, I immediately scrolled past that TikTok but something drew me to it and I went back to that woman's profile and rummaged through. After watching enough 30-second videos about the subject, I thought it would be fun to research the subject and headed over to google. To say that my world has b

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Let me preface this post by saying I donβt think Sanji needs or will get Conquerorβs Haki. Iβm not here to argue why he should or why he will get it. This post is not about that. That being said, I do take issue with people saying how Sanji couldnβt get it/doesnβt deserve it because he doesnβt have βQualities of a Kingβ and that Oda giving it to him wouldnβt make sense as that would be βbad writingβ.
First of all, there is no such thing as βQualities of a Kingβ, at least not in the sense where those qualities are actually explained as there isnβt a single quality that all of the users of Kingβs Haki share. Itβs a vaguely defined term used by some people to gate-keep Conquerorβs Haki from the characters they donβt want to have it to the point where they are willing to criticize Oda because it doesnβt fit their personal idea of who should have it and who should not.
This is nothing new when it comes to Sanji as there already is a big group of people who are willing to call Odaβs writing bad/inconsistent because Sanji went from ββββstrugglingββββ with Vergo, which isnβt true, is ignoring context and everything that happened in between, to fighting Queen.People would rather attack Oda than admit they were wrong.
With that out of the way, letβs examine these βQualities of a Kingβ that are often brought up as a prerequisite for having Color of the Supreme King.
https://preview.redd.it/snw5f0k3gp281.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=af751ed71872f5b8e122947a81b6505723149dec
The most common quality brought up is the βNatural Born Leaderβ. The idea is that every user of the Conquerorβs Haki is a leader of a group, be it a Captain or an Admiral like Don Chinjao, but that isnβt true. There are multiple examples of Conquerorβs user that are not Captains or leaders of anything but rather subordinates/followers**, Zoro, Rayleight, Katakuri, Yamato** and etc.
The other interpretation is that they do not need to be actual leaders but rather have the qualities of one. Zoro is not the Captain but has been mistaken multiple times for one and has been mentioned

Iβm going all-in on former casino owner, and Warlord, Sir Crocodile:

Trust me, Iβm sure he hates it and is counting down the days he can tell Teach to go f*&% himself.
TL;DR: Oh yeah, Iβm going in deep with this theory. Iβm confident Iβm right on the money with this one. Oda has been teasing this guy just a little too much for him not to have a major comeback. My analyses below.
Spoilers-galore ahead, including potential future-spoilers (post Wano Act 3). So, click away now if you just wanted to know what my guess was. You have been warned!
Iβll kick things off by pulling a clip from Chapter 544, where Blackbeard and Crocodile exchange some dialogue during the riots at Impel Down:
[Clip from Chapter 544, Page 8]
Crocodile questions Blackbeardβs motive behind accepting a warlord position only to then immediately throw it away. Not 24-hours later, he sees firsthand what Blackbeard had planned all along. And succeeding where he had failed at least twice, which was in killing Whitebeard.
Rewinding a bit on this same chapter, when Blackbeard is speaking to Luffy about how he became a warlord, he notably slights Crocodile. Talking about him as though he weren't there. A βdisβ that is not lost on the former longtime warlord:
[Clip from Chapter 544, Page 1]
A proud, overconfident man like Crocodile wouldnβt let such a sign of disrespect go. And doesnβt.
Just a few pages later, Crocodile slights Blackbeard right back, after questioning the manβs plan:
[Clip from Chapter 544, Page 9]
Okayβ¦so, so farβ¦I managed to point out why Crocodile is NOT the Tenth Titanic Captain.
Donβt worry. Iβll get there. Iβm well aware Crocodile is an arrogant bastard.
But thinkβ¦think!
Crocodile has also been shown to be quite the pragmatist. I meanβ¦he did offer to help Luffy break back out of Impel Down and get to Marinefordβ¦mainly, because he wanted to go there, tooβ¦

I purchased the Final Fantasy VII Remake Materials Ultimania (Kindle Version). I was looking very closely at the notes in the storyboards for the final fight between Cloud & Sephiroth at the so-called "Edge of Creation." These notes actually say some very interesting things regarding the scenes they depict, which I had not seen translated or discussed before!
Note that in certain development sections of the Ultimania that showcase the dev's notes and thought-processes, there is a disclaimer that suggests those sections and development notes are not necessarily canon. However! This section titled "Cutscene Storyboards" does not have that disclaimer, which makes me feel these notes are as close to canon as you can expect.
Take a look at page 270 and 271 below:

Does this mean the Edge of Creation scene represents two futures, one where the entire Universe is at stake? The other represents a rebirth? Did Sephiroth [and Aerith?] somehow bring about the rebirth of the entire universe (usually referred to by the community as a new timeline)? Is Remake simply this new Universe? Are the flashbacks and flashfowards simply glimpses of this other universe? Speculation: did Squarenix pull the trigger of showing Meteor early only to show us later, that the new threat Sephiroth will bring about is actually Supernova and the destruction of the cosmic lifestream, not just Gaia's lifestream?
