A list of puns related to "Elizabeth of Russia"
I mean she ruled for 20 years. She was responsible for the construction of a lot of Russia's most famous monuments like the Winter palace and she founded some of Russia's most respected institutions such as Moscow state university. She was also the leader of the country during several major wars such as the seven year war.
So its not like she was short lived or unaccomplished. So why is she basically a footnote in history in comparison to the later Empress Catherine the great?
[For the sake of context, Elizabeth I of Russia lived from 1709-1762.]
>When she [Elizabeth I] died, she was survived by 15,000 dresses, not to mention the countless sets of menβs clothing she liked to wear, two trunks full of stockings, and several thousand pairs of shoes. Unsurprisingly, Elizabeth changed clothes multiple times a day and never wore the same outfit twice. She also took pains to ensure that of all the ladies at court, she was the most fashionable. She passed laws requiring foreign fabric salesmen to offer her first dibs, on pain of arrest. Wearing the same hairstyle or even a similar accessory or ensemble as the empress would spark her anger, so much so that she sometimes turned violent.

Information on wikipedia for England is sparse, mentioning mostly that the tax was graduated, depending on the wearer's social position - so possibly as a way to tax people of higher social standing more. And that "contemporary documentation of the Tudor beard tax ... is lacking". In Russia it seems to have been tied to Peter I's larger plans for adopting European influences. In both cases it's mentioned however that the tax was poorly executed and/or resisted - would be interested in either or both cases.
Specifically in regards to Crimea and election interference. I'm hoping it's something along the lines of "sanction their economy into the ground and cut the trans-Pacific fiber optic cables where they enter North America", but I'll take whatever I can get
One very noticeable thing that has changed is that Ed Smart, Elizabeth's dad, who had his face continuously on the front page of the DES NEWS early on, now his picture is nowhere to be seen.
Ed caught the gay disease so the church doesn't want to be associated with him in any way.
