With Western governments now pushing for all vehicles to become electric, it seems likely that to plug the huge holes in fuel tax revenue that they will be using they will be switching to a "road pricing" model, where you pay per mile/km driven.
Does anyone know how this can be done in such a way that it preserves the drivers privacy. You will of course need to have a device in your car that tracks every single movement you make, even if this data could somehow be anonymised, once it came to billing the driver for their driven miles/km, surely their identity would have to be known?
I have grave concerns about trusting governments with this kind of personal data for every single person driving a car in any given country (essentially the entire populations movements will be tracked 24/7).

The most common brand of this type of sign is Addco. This is how you mess with those ones.
The access panel on the sign is generally protected by a small padlock, but often are left unprotected. Upon opening the access panel you can see the display electronics.

Programming is as simple as scrolling down the menu selection to "Instant Text". Type whatever you want to display, Hit Enter to submit. You can now either throw it up on the sign by selecting "Run w/out save" or you can add more pages to it by selecting "Add page"
Should it ask you for a password. Try "DOTS", the default password.
In all likelihood, the crew will not have changed it. However if they did, never fear. Hold "Control" and "Shift" and while holding, enter "DIPY". This will reset the sign and reset the password to "DOTS" in the process. You're in!

Thursday I was on 540 and saw ‘Accident at Exit 0’. I was at exit 3 (route 70) and the next exit was 4 (Leesville rd). So if I am heading up in numbers what would 0 be? Behind me? I’ve been on 540 since it opened and don’t even know my exit’s number - Do people really know the exit numbers?
