A list of puns related to "Electricity (Elton John song)"
My wife and I listened to an Elton John tribute act whilst on Honeymoon and it sounded like he sang "Roast beef, light of my life". I've listened to a lot of Elton John since, trying to figure out what the lyrics actually are and what the song is, but no luck.
Any ideas?
I skimmed through all his major songs. I canβt find it! Help. I donβt think it was as famous as Crocodile rock or Levon.
Iβm thinking of tracks like Out of the Blue, which I doubt many people would even know was by him
Hello everyone,
I am getting married, and me and my fiance have selected the original elton john version of 'your song' for our first dance.
We have been learning to dance to it, but we have difficulty doing the whole 3:49 minute song (we have been doing pretty well but 4 min is a lot to remember). We could fade out, but we also want to dance to the last chorus.
I am wondering if the elton john reddit Community know if a shortened version was ever made by elton john or his record label, or, failing that, if anyone have done a good shorter mix using his original song. Sadly I haven't had much luck finding either with Google or YouTube.
Thanks.
He called it, "Hold Me Closer, Tony Danza"
This just makes me wanna see him emulate Eltonβs persona so badly, XD
Surprise!!! I bet some of you thought my Zoey/Beatles list was going to be next, didnβt cha? Well, my brain just hatched another idea in the meantime! So does anyone remember last month where I made a headcanon about how Sir Elton John very well could have been a ginormous musical influence of Codyβs judging by him being featured on one of the posters in his room and that his main instrument is keyboards? Well today, Iβve decided to expand more on that particular HC by counting down what I think Codyβs top 20 favorite Elton John songs could be.
The Rocket Man himself, Elton John was an English legend that has released more than 25 top 10 singles in a career spanning over half a century. His lyrical depth, piano-playing talents, vocal abilities, and live showmanship all combine to make an artist who still to this day is one of the best-selling musical acts of all time.
I also want to make note that this is actually currently the only classic artist Iβve made a list for so far (with another one coming up in the future). Every one of my other lists involved modern bands and artists from the 2000βs onward, but this is the first time Iβm jumping back half a century to take a look at a discography from one of the most popular and influential artists of the 1970βs: Elton John.
When making this list, I honestly had no idea what my methodology was going to be in terms of what songs to place where. I do think that Cody would genuinely be able to enjoy many of Eltonβs greatest hits (and album cuts too) due to not only likely exposure from childhood, but also from the aforementioned musical influence he could have had on the Codemeister.
So without further ado, letβs get onto that list, shall we?
1. Your Song
Coming off of Elton Johnβs self-titled album in 1970, this song is widely regarded by many fans and critics alike to be one of Eltonβs greatest, and I can easily see it being among Codyβs all time favorite songs. Heck, John Lennon even described as the first βnewβ thing since The Beatles. The track was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998. A true definitive example of Eltonβs essential and exemplary sound.
2. Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding
One of the most epic tracks in Elton Johnβs discography, clocking in at just over 11

Use the row of letters to unscramble a song by another artist. Then take the circled letters and unscramble them for the Elton song. Each row of letters is a different song, by all different artists.

Has anyone got the multi tracks (not stems) to this?
Just curious what the general consensus is, I posted some of his bigger hits in the polls. Also, what is your favorite song that Billy sang with him? I love their duet of "You May Be Right", and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".

You can include any song he's recorded, they can be covers, songs written for movies, or album songs! You also don't have to rank your list. What are your top 20 Elton John songs?
