A list of puns related to "Don't Hang Up (song)"
Title
Why YSK: I’ve worked in a telemarketing firm. I know for a fact that cursing out a telemarketing employee is the best way to ensure that you get calls day in, day out. Most firms use automatic dialing programs, where you need to “disposition” the call after you hang up. So you select a preset from a menu of options to explain how the call went (ex. There’s an option for no answer, not interested, not qualified, and other things of that nature).
There is also a Callback Later disposition, in which the phone number would be put back into the automatic dialer’s call queue at another point in the day. I’ve seen time after time, when a co-worker got cussed out over the phone they would always disposition the call as callback later. We were trained to never disposition a phone number as Do Not Call unless the “customer” threatens to report us to the BBB or if they mention the federal no call list.
However there are also call dispositions for wrong numbers, which we would have to put for anyone who picks up the phone and says it’s a business line, or that they’re the new owner of the phone number and not the original person whom we had info for on a previous lead. Once a phone number was dispositioned as a wrong number, it was also taken out of the system. Also, no small business wants to get complaints written about them on the BBB, it’s hard enough for them to have a positive reputation as it is if they’re having a sales floor making 130k glorified cold calls on the daily.
EDIT: This info is really only relevant for American based telemarketing companies as far as I know. I can’t speak on how other nations handle their telemarketers. However this info definitely isn’t relevant for India-based scam call centers. Some shitty criminal calling you out of most likely New Delhi India pretending to be Social Security or the IRS or a car warrantee specialist will not be in the slightest bit concerned about a federal no call list or the Better Business Bureau.
EDIT 2: The whole BBB thing is mainly anecdotal, as my employer at the time trained everyone to remove any “customer” from the list who mentioned they would report us to it.
TL:DR: telemarketing employees are just going to make sure you get called back by their company if you give them a hard time over the phone. Just mention the Federal No Call List or the Better Business Bureau or say it’s a wrong number or a business line and that’s an easier way to get you out of their system.
Obviously some systems carry on with their spiel anyway, but I find that 90% of calls from numbers I don’t recognise hang up very shortly if I say nothing. I’m not certain, but I believe that some systems will mark your number as unresponsive as well, which means you are less likely to get spam calls in the future.
If you accidentally call emergency services, make sure you tell them, otherwise they will most likely send out a police car to your location, and you could be fined. Instead, just tell them, “Sorry i didn’t mean to call” and make sure they know it was a mistake.
I feel like such a fucking old man for saying this but some folks have an early start the next day, or just need some sleep. Plenty of spots in the lobby or even just -in- your room instead of outside by the door. These hallways have better acoustics than Main Stage. Help a brother out. Happy MAG.
Of course, you could install TrueCaller and not pick the call, but that isn't the point. That won't stop them from calling you again with a different number. Every calling team knows that these days and hence change numbers regularly.
You could do this for any service that want you as their client. Just be undesirable.
My 15 year old daughter texted me about a call that she got that creeped her out. It was a message alleging fraud, and she didn't know what was going on. It wasn't the first message they had left. I told her to call them back and they knew who she was, and said they were the IRS and that she was looking at some big trouble. She said "stop calling" and hung up.
When I got home, I called them and they answered the line as "IRS, how may I help you" or some such bullshit. As soon as I mentioned them calling a child, they hung up. A few times.
Please educate your kids and hell, even you parents. the IRS will not call you.
Craazy bitch called today in regard to her father's prescription. She went into Karen Mode, demanding to speak to someone. In a fury of anger and " the customer is always right", I didn't catch her name.
Me: Ok, sure. What's your name again?
C.B.: I just fucking told you everything! I'm not repeating everything! I want to talk to.... - I cut her off -
Me: Miss, you need to hold on. I'm hard of hearing. You're going too fast and I can't understand what you are saying.
C.B. - Continues to go on a psychotic rant- You better fucking do something and * rambles *
Me: I don't appreciate you talking to me like this.
C.B. : How dare you talk to me like this!
Me: Miss. I am trying to help you. If you're going to act like this, then I can't help you and if you keep cursing at me, I will hang up on you.
C.B. : Who the fuck do you think you are? I swear I will....

Go fuck yourself. Had a talk with the boss, he heard me. I was 50 percent wrong for getting too emotional at the beginning of the call. I admit I could have handled it better. Either way, this conversation would have not ended well, no matter what.
You should tell them it was an accident or they might think you are being held hostage or in danger and track down your phone.
Saw this as a thread on Twitter, so thought I'd ask here. What's a music video that just doesn't do its song justice? My answers:
Ariana Grande - Into You: Ari's best song just playing over a montage of a messy relationship with a biker dude. Tons of wasted potential.
Lady Gaga - Edge of Glory: There was a whole concept involving mermaids, a doctor, and military men, but due to creative issues with the director, the idea was scrapped and they went with a much simpler route, that's pretty basic for such an epic song.
I work for a company that makes medical related calls. We're hired by various pharmacies and prescription plan companies to make calls on their behalf to their patients to make sure they are taking their meds properly so they, you know, don't die. Higher up the chain we also offer medical coaching and actual MTM stuff, but I'm a low tier temp so I don't do that.
Context out of the way, I make exclusively outbound calls. I call ppl, ask if they wanna chat, and when they say yes I ask to confirm their date of birth and zip code. Because you know, HIPAA.
Just had a lady waste 10 minutes of her and my time yelling at me for trying to steal all her personal information. Like, if you don't wanna do it fine whatever. Just say so and hang up. Don't go in on me for following PHI protection laws!
It's dumb and it drives me crazy. Also, I'm sitting here trying to think what we could possibly do if all we had was a person's name, dob, and zip. Oh and phone number. Like what on EARTH can we do with that information, if we were trying to steal their ID or smth???
Also I'm not sure if this counts as a "customer complaint" since I know that's not allowed here. If it does qualify as such, sorry!
Friend n°1 bruh
EDIT : I was doing this for years when living in a flat, but yeah, this isn't my setup at the moment (of course there's a beam just next to it, and also a T-nuts w/ bolt on the back of the board), I just did a picture to explain the idea to people who are in quarantine without any place to hang a TRX, and thought sharing it here.

My friend for a while now invited me over to her house (to have sex with her) so... how do I prepare.....this girl is like a 8/10 and she might take my virgin status. I’m so excited I just don’t wanna fuk up due to performance anxiety and a bunch of other bs, should I shave my balls, how do I make sure I get laid and don’t fuck up. Also when I’m anxious for upcoming things like ducking her I get anxiety and my body just goes robot mode I want to avoid this anxiety during the date.
My friend moved to my school our senior year of high school. For most of the year it was great and fine. I considered her my best friend for most of the year.
In February, we got jobs at the same fast-food place. It was the grand opening, and for a while the managers moved people around everywhere to see where they fit best. The managers sent out a survey asking where we liked after a while, and I put drinks. I don't know what she put or if she did it at all. About a month or two in, they decided to put me on drinks. They put her as order taker/cash.
She complained about this every day. She also got upset when I didn't agree that we should do position rotations every 30 minutes. She complained to the managers and owner too and none of them wanted to do that. She used to work for the owner, so I guess she felt that she had some authority?
She started taking it out on me. She would say that I "needed to give others a chance to do drinks." She started being a huge jerk. She started bashing every little thing I did and continued to complain about me working drinks. She would get mad when I would do better than her on tests (and she would never study?). She started blatantly making new friends and hanging out with them more. She was always in a bad mood around me and she'd be great around everyone else. She would leave with her new friends to go hangout elsewhere without asking me if I wanted to go. She would ask my boyfriend why I was in "bad moods" (which really, really pissed me off). Any time she talked to my bf, she would complain about me, expecting him to take her side I guess? (My bf blocked her number, by the way).
I didn't talk to her unless she talked to me, and I didn't hang out with her unless I just had a class with her. After a while she quit her job because she never got her way. I was so happy about it, honestly. I actually really like my job now. She made me hate it and feel guilty.
Ever since graduation she's texted me occasionally wanting to hang out and such. I've never messaged her first. I try to be nice but I really just don't like her. I don't know how to tell her I don't want to be friends. What can I say or do?
tl;dr! My friend from high school treated me like a jerk and now she wants to be buddies and hang out. I don't want to be friends. What can I say or do?
