A list of puns related to "Distinguished Gentleman's Ride"
Distinguished Gentleman's Ride today! If you see some dapper AF dressed humans riding vintage and custom motorcycles today, be cool and be patient. We ride today in the name of men's health. Proceeds raised and donations to the DGR benefit prostate cancer research, mens mental health and suicide prevention.
This marks 10 years of the global event and close to $40M raised for the various charity groups. More info can be found at: https://www.gentlemansride.com/ IG: @gentlemansride
If anyone feels cool enough to donate, you can do so from the website directly. If you want to be SUPER RAD and donate in a way that sponsors my part in the ride specifically, please do so from here:

If you have a prostate, go get it checked. If you know someone with a prostate, remind them to go get it checked. Be kind, be cool, drive/ride safe, watch out for motorcycles. Cheers =]
I'm doing a motorcycle ride today in Belfast starting at 1pm for Men's Mental Health and Prostate Cancer.
It's load of grown men and women dressing up as "Dapper" gentlefolk and riding (mostly) classic and old school bikes around town for an hour. It's a bit of a spectacle and there are some great looking bikes there and great looking people too!
It's for a good cause and if you fancy donating, you can donate here:
You'd be donating to a great fun charity and you can read more here:

I've been getting e-mail from these guys for years but have yet to make it to an event yet. I see that there's only 20 people registered on the website for Eugene so far, so my question is this...
Do they really care what style of bike you show up in? I've got a small cruiser which may not fit the Triumph look they're going for. Are they gonna be dicks about it?
Anybody here know details on the DG ride this weekend? Iβm new to the area and the website isnβt helping.
Much obliged in advance!

So there is this charitable ride event that I want to participate, but the the great looks they limit the type of motorcycles that can participate. From the FAQ:
Can I still ride if I don't have a Cafe Racer, Bobber, Classic, Tracker, Scrambler, Old School Chopper, Modern Classic, Sidecar, Classic Scooter, or Brat Styled motorcycle?
DGR is about the niches within the motorcycle community, consisting of motorcycles that you might not regularly see during your daily commute. If you can borrow or rent a suitable bike, and are dressed appropriately, we encourage you to register and join the ride. If not, and youβd still like to support the event, a donation is a wonderful way to do so, as well as reach out to your local organiser to help them behind the scenes as volunteers.
They also have a list of bike types allowed to participate, listing "Modern Classic" as one of them. This raises a question for me, can Triumph Trident 660 qualify as modern classic?
All my fellow riders who are attending, have fun out there and be safe. I look forward to seeing all the pics of you folks in your finest hipster gear.
This past Sunday was the "Distinguished Gentleman's Ride". It's an annual event where people dress up dapper and ride vintage motorcycles to raise money for mental health resources and prostate cancer research. This was my first year riding for this cause. I've been riding over 10yrs but mainly keep to myself and to be honest have been to depressed to ride for many years. This year was different though. I've struggled with anxiety and depression the majority of my life so this was pretty easy to get behind. Riding solo took the pressure of riding with a million people away (solo ride was the theme because of the pandemic). I was able to stop by a friend's house and my sisters which was nice.
Over the years I've been on over 40 medications, in and out of hospitals and treatment centers etc, I've been working my ass of for years trying to find some quality of life. Granted, I still struggle a lot, (even today I was stuck on my couch all day for the first time in a while) but I get back up and have more tools then ever to stay functional. Just wanted to say there is hope! You never know how things can change, there's always something else to try. I recently became a certified yoga instructor, who knew?!
Anyway, I took my 10yr old niece (very slowly!) around the block. It was her first time on a bike and the most exciting thing that's ever happened to her! I've raised almost $800 which is very humbling. There's still time to donate if you want to raise funds for mental health resources alongside prostate cancer research until Oct 11th. Any amount helps.
Just wanted to share. Hang in there everyone. We don't have to be defined by our diagnosis. At the same time it's so important to reduce the stigma.
