A list of puns related to "Diocesan administrator"
Can y'all help clarify a discussion I'm having with some friends? We have an excellent pastor who recently served as diocesan administrator while we were without a bishop. I made a remark that I thought he would make an excellent bishop in the future and they said he could never be a bishop because he had served as diocesan administrator. They compared it to deacons vs. permanent deacons, saying permanent deacons cannot become priests, whereas I thought they could once they were widowed and no longer had family responsibilities. So what's the deal, can a diocesan administrator become a bishop and a permanent deacon a priest? Thanks for any help, I've tried googling but can't seem to phrase the question right.

Popular perception is that non-governmental or voluntary organisations (NGOs/VOs) are organisations having social or humanitarian agendas, and are funded in their noble missions by philanthropists and other individual and institutional donors. NGO uniting platforms such as WANGO and INSO reinforce these perceptions with lofty declarations of serving humanity and promoting world peace. In an ideal world, every NGO should provide some form of social or humanitarian support to individuals and sections of society where governments may not be able to reach. Indiaβs population size combined with finite resources with governments gives individuals and NGOs unlimited opportunities to promote such initiatives.
In 2013, triggered by a Public Interest Litigation seeking transparency in finances of an NGO run by social activist Anna Hazare, the Supreme Court asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to identify all registered NGOs and statuses of filing of their balance sheets. CBI declared the number of NGOs in India to be a staggering 31 lakhs. Of these only 99125 were self-declared in NGO Darpan, a NITI Aayog platform that βprovides space for interface between VOs/NGOs and key Government Ministries / Departments / Government Bodiesβ.

As the peerless FCRA Analyst painstakingly demonstrated in this Post earlier this year, FCRA-NGOs located in New Delhi and Tamil Nadu receive the largest foreign contributions (FC, Government-speak for foreign βdonationsβ) in our Desh. Together, the receipts of DL and TNβs FCRA-NGOs constituted 40% of the total FCRA direct inflows into India, each year. Delhi being numero one in FCRA is obvious, as it is Freeloaders-Central, what with its rich elites whiling away their time on either Government Pensions and/or Government-derived family salaries and needing a social βcauseβ to show off their presence. The causes which the Delhi FCRA-NGO cabal espouse arenβt innovative #unsurprising. They are copied from Western (largely US) βnon-profitβ entities (which themselves have been created to perpetuate the elitehood of those countriesβ elites, courtesy their tax laws and the primacy of those countries themselves, courtesy their Governments). Well, we digressed. But not really. For, this paragraph will help crystallize your understanding. Read it slowly. Again. Think through it. We canβt help it, if you donβt understand.
FCRA-NGOs in Delhi received Rs. 4300 Crore directly from abroad, while those in Tamil Nadu received around Rs. 2000 Crore from abroad in 2018-19.
Our Post earlier today broke the news to the World, several hours before Mainstream Media did, that around 6000 FCRA-NGOs lost their FCRA registrations during the current renewal process. While a large number of them lost it, probably because they did not even make an application for renewal, a good number must have lost their registrations, due to the decisive action of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The current Post is devoted to the examination of a few such NGOs (among those who have lost their FCRA status today) that we have become familiar with over the last decade.

... keep reading on reddit β‘I have posted about this before, but the abuse scandal in the Catholic Church is something that is recurring news. I would like to provide facts and data around this. This is important because often times there is either crucial information about the scandal that is not presented or it is presented through lazy sound bites and clickbait. This does not allow the public to understand what's really going on in full. So here are some basic facts and information about the scandal. These facts that I am quoting aren't my own of course. They come from primary source documents such as the abuse reports that detail the facts surround this scandal. This is also important because from time to time you see this "bomb shell" reports reported on in the news. And yet barely any aspect of these reports are quoted with the exception of selective sound bites, all the while crucial information in these reports are not reported on. I am also going to be quoting theological sources on this as well.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

When I was confirmed, our diocese was sede vacante. So the main celebrant of our confirmation is the diocesan administrator which is only a priest. When the oil was administered to me, I was on the line of the parish priest. So the one that anointed me is the parish priest/chaplain of school. It also happened that I am not fully aware about the state of grace when receiving the confirmation. I confessed first but I did not mentioned all my sins, because I think I thought before that it is okay to be vague and not fully confess in confession (I'm not sure). Is my confirmation valid or invalid?
Nothing, he was gladiator.
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
Wednesday
The setting of the βCredoβ which I spent a year composing was dismissed outright, without even a hearing, because βat THIS church we SPEAK the Nicene Creed, so you should try to get your setting performed elsewhere.β
When I started this project, I checked with the priest, the vestry and the music director to see if this is what they wanted.
I constructed the piece so the congregation chants the Creed in the rhythm theyβre accustomed to speaking. Their pitch consists of one note. The form of the piece is constructed by changing the harmony.
I communicated with the priest, the vestry and the music director through the composition of the piece.
I never even got a hearing of the piece before it was dismissed.
Well, guess what? You no longer have a resident composer.
I have been unsubscribing from everything I did connected with this church, at the parish and the diocesan level β save for Creation Care, which Iβm really passionate about. Iβm now βchurch shoppingβ β if I actually do look for another church. (Update: checked out an ELCA church this morning. It was nice. I'll definitely give them another look.)
Thursday
I was working as church administrator at a Disciples of Christ church, separate from my home parish, doing a job I really loved which made really good use of my computer skills. There has been a lot to organize over the last few months: the previous administrator was dying from lung cancer, and as her health failed there were things she simply couldnβt take care of. I donβt fault her for being ill, or not being able to do the work β God knows I have IPF and I know whatβs coming for me; but it left mountains of work for me to do.
I just completed a parish database so they can keep track members, attendance, budget, hymns, musicians, etc. The parish membership roster, attendance roster, etc. hadn't been updated in 18 months.
Today, the pastor announced the church is having financial difficulties so they're letting me go and theyβre going to use volunteers to do the work.
In mid-conversation, I stopped the pastor and asked her how long she's known about this. They were aware this could happen at the time they hired me (COVID drove attendance down, as it did with all churches). My response: "So you knew this, but you didn't bother to tell me that information at the I interviewed?" Her response: "We were afraid you wouldn't accept the job if we told you."
I think I'm done with churches. I'm 67: I've been ex
