A list of puns related to "Deadbeat at Dawn"
Title says it all, I'm trying to find more movies that capture the the vibe of those two movies. They're just really bleak and nihilistic films that ooze filth but at the same time are really compelling and suck you in - its not just dark for the sake of being dark. I'd consider both the movies I mentioned to actually be really good movies, not just grindhouse schlock - although if they have that grindhouse vibe that's a plus. I think the low-budget style of those two movies adds a lot to this feeling of realistic grime, but I'm sure it doesn't have to be low budget.. just no hollywood feel-good bullshit thrown in at the last minute to spoil the wonderful bleakness. One thing I like about these movies is they're pretty realistic - no superhuman killers or zombies, just real life at its most hideous.
A few I've got on my list already -
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
Man Bites Dog

Definitely hit me with anything you think would fit, thanks!
I've got certain information, all right? Certain things have come to light.
And before you say, "that's just your opinion, man," consider the larger body of work by the Cohens. Every film is about how money corrupts. All of them.
And guess who at the end of the film is left uncorrupted by the Money? Same as the person who abides. That's right. I'm talking about The Dude.
And who IS corrupted by millions? The BIG Jeffrey Lebowski. The Millionaire. After all, who are "The Little Lebowski" Urban Achievers? Is the fund paid out by diverse mothers? No, man. Big Lebowski's Little Lebowskis are a vanity project. His weakness. He keepsa da monay.
Who has learned nothing at the film's culmination, who will inevitably see his demise? The Millionaire. And The Dude is unaffected by the money or the loss of the money. He keeps on tumbling, tumbling, tumbling on.
So with a good bit of time since the initial Review of the Swordcraft cards. It's time to have a look at them again and see how things may have changed in my perspective on them.
Legendaries
Victorious Blader
Overall think i was largely on point with this one. The accelerate is just very solid. 2pp 2/3 on 2 bodies is quite good. And the Main body is also handy vs more aggressive decks or some combo decks plus can act as a secondary win con from time to time. And if you get two on the board you become practically invincible.
Monochrome Endgame
Similarly here not much really in terms of surprises there. The card is quite good unless you're going full on Aggro. But is quite handy vs the Aggro decks a lot of the time as it can slow them down while setting up a counter push in return. The black queen is a lot more situational, but can still be handy. And the Enhanced version is just great, and if you're playing an Evolve style deck then it's an easy 2 evolves towards whatever you're planning. Additionally going second the White Queen can actually be a solid threat as she can slow grow while attacking the enemy head on and threaten to pump out tokens at the same time. Won a few matches on that actually.
Gold Cards
Assault Knight
Basically an alternate Honourable thief and quite good in decks where it can be used. Not just for trading, but just having a 3/3 on board can quickly become a problem when you keep adding more stuff on board. Especially if the divine shield effect sticks, can allow it to surve AoEs and removal. Plus also just works great for pumping up your evo cards cheaply and very efficiently. Overall very much within expactations... and very fun to play too.
Coronation
Performance has largely been what i expected. Occasional one off as a tertiary win condition where you occasionally blow out an opponent with it. But typically no one wants to run a 7pp spell like that as more than one as it just risks bricking too much. If Sword ever gets a way to cheat it out faster.. maybe it may see more play. But otherwise, just a 1 off.
Silver Cards
Starfall Princess
Very much within expectations. Sees usage in some aggro decks as a way to draw cards, but as Aggro rally becomes more popular is now actually seeing itself being pushed aside. Still sees some play, but yeah. It's just not particularly efficient for card draw. Unless Sword gets some way to take advantage of it more, i'd not be surprised

Several weeks ago, I was messing around in the basement looking through all the ancient books someone left down there. Some are as old as the 1800s which is pretty cool.
In one old book, I found some letters from some guy "Steven" to my mom. I found out they'd had an affair, and I was Steven's daughter. My mom wanted to keep that secret from my dad, and Steven also wanted to keep that secret because of his family. The letters stopped soon after my birth. I only saw Steven's side of the conversation, but it said enough.
I wanted to find this guy, I was honestly in shock and just wanted to know more. In some of the older letters, before the one about me, her talked about the college he went to, the frat he was in, his job. And with all that, I looked him up and I was almost positive I found him on Facebook.
TBH my first reaction was anger, he was really wealthy. Like his kids have ponies and college wealthy. He has 3 kids, a 14 y/o, a 17 y/o, and a 21 y/o. And I just couldn't understand how someone could father a child, know about it, and not give any support even though my family is on food stamps.
I know he's never given my family a cent; I've helped my mom balance our family's budget for years because she's not good at it. I know every dollar that comes in and out of this house
I wanted to be sure though, so I messaged the 21 year old son, and said I thought I might be his half sister, and asked if we could talk. He said yes, and I cross checked a few things to be sure. I asked if he'd tell Steven, and he said no. I don't know what's going on there but there seemed to be some bad blood.
Then, I dwelled on stuff for a few days. I had a lot to say to Steven but I was also scared. Then, finally, I reached out on Facebook and sent him a message saying I know he's my biological father, I know he knows who I am. And he's shitty and a coward for keeping up his white picket fence life, buying some of his daughters ponies, while his other daughter he knew about was trying to budget for the bare necessities.
I stressed about it for days, then got a message back saying that my mother had decided to "go it alone" and to not harass him again.
I was shocked and disgusted, that he'd lie to my face when I knew that it was just as much his decision as hers, from the letters. And in that moment, I was so p

Hey all,
I am a deadbeat and it seems there is no community for us on reddit.
In the creation of this sub, I hope to create discourse on the challenges of being a deadbeat father.
There will be weekly discussions on, how to escape parenthood, how to lie, and expert lawyer advice for when they come for the child support.
