A list of puns related to "David Strickland"
My wife Emily was assaulted on Penn Ave by the Eastern Market CVS walking with our 5yo on Mon at 5:35 PM.
A man running checked her to the ground from behind, unprovoked.
She lost her front teeth. Info? Please Call MPD (202) 727-9099/text 50411.
UPDATE 12/21: Emily's assailant, ROMAN STRICKLAND (7/19/91), is in DC jail. One of Roman's health providers got in touch with MPD after seeing Emily's story on the news. According to them, Roman suffers from schizophrenia and isn't complying with treatment.
Once I made a stink on Twitter, Reddit and network broadcast TV, DC released the CCTV bodycam footage captured night of. They got tips and were able to run him down quickly. Thank you to Detective David Gargac #D1-1312 for his work and communication with our family. An MPD officer recognized and apprehended him at a bus stop on Penn Ave SE. Shout out to Councilmember Charles Allen who reached out to us and liaised with MPD leadership on our behalf. I don't think we would be as far along in our pursuit of justice without him and the broadcasters.
This is the complaint: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qtoi25no23sph6f/2021%20CF3%20007186%20United%20States%20Vs.%20STRICKLAND%2C%20ROMAN%20MO.pdf?dl=0
UPDATE: MPD released this better video of the assault and person of interest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpbcMBaDP-c
They also released this incident report https://www.dropbox.com/s/wxsvc3bsetxeyh0/Public%20Packet%20-%2021178115%20Offense_Incident_%20Simple%20Assault.pdf?dl=0 I think this release would not happen without the story trending. Thank you Reddit!
Reddit, please help me bring this person to justice.
Police report number 21-178-118. officer Benjamin.Rikhoff@dc.gov.
CORRECTION: MPD Officer Rikhoff gave me the wrong case number on the scene. No wonder the PR file is so thin! all the Reddit tips are on someone else’s case… The right one is 21-178-115.
This is CCTV video of her assailant fleeing scene taken from La Plaza restaurant. https://twitter.com/i/status/1468687420333993987

In 20 years or so, when looking back at the All-NBA teams, who do you think will seem like the most random, inexplicable, one-and-done selection? Here are the candidates who made it once and only once since the Third Team was introduced in 1989:
Dale Ellis (1990, Third Team)
Kevin Willis (1992, Third)
Brad Daugherty (1992, Third)
Larry Johnson (1993, Second)
Drazen Petrovic (1993, Third)
Latrell Sprewell (1994, First)
Detlef Schrempf (1995, Third)
Juwan Howard (1996, Third)
Anthony Mason (1997, Third)
Rod Strickland (1998, Second)
Antonio McDyess (1999, Third)
Eddie Jones (2000, Third)
Jamal Mashburn (2003, Third)
Peja Stojakovic (2004, Second)
Sam Cassell (2004, Second)
Ron Artest (2004, Third)
Michael Redd (2004, Third)
Baron Davis (2004, Third)
Elton Brand (2006, Second)
Chris Bosh (2007, Third)
Carlos Boozer (2008, Third)
Andrew Bogut (2010, Third)
Joe Johnson (2010, Third)
Derrick Rose (2011, First)
Zach Randolph (2011, Third)
Al Horford (2011, Third)
Andrew Bynum (2012, Second)
Tyson Chandler (2012, Third)
Rajon Rondo (2012, Third)
David Lee (2013, Third)
Joakim Noah (2014, First)
Al Jefferson (2014, Third)
Goran Dragic (2014, Third)
Andre Drummond (2016, Third)
Kyle Lowry (2016, Third)
Isaiah Thomas (2017, Second)
John Wall (2017, Third)
DeMar DeRozan (2017, Third)
Karl-Anthony Towns (2018, Third)
Victor Oladipo (2018, Third)
Kemba Walker (2019, Third)
Pascal Siakam (2020, Second)
Jayson Tatum (2020, Third)
Ben Simmons (2020, Third)
Julius Randle (2021, Second)
Bradley Beal (2021, Third)
That’s more than I thought it was going to be when I first started looking at it, so here are just the guys that made first or second team.
First:
Sprewell (1994)
Rose (2011)
Noah (2014)
Second:
Larry Johnson (1993)
Strickland (1998)
Stojakovic (2004)
Cassell (2004)
Brand (2006)
Bynum (2012)
Isaiah Thomas (2017)
Siakam (2020)
Randle (2021)
Obviously, some of the recent picks could still make another, but that’s where things stand now.
So which one in 20 years will make the most people say “how the hell did that happen?” Personally I’d go with Noah since it’s the only First Team selection not directly related to devastating injuries or choking out your coach, but having watched Sam Cassell’s whole career, that one still surprises me every time too.
Edit: not saying “which player didn’t deserve it at the time,” saying more like the “wow, Paul Westphal made the First Team three times? I would not have gues

This writeup tries to illustrate and explain some of how and why that is done.
An example
Let us imagine a deployed and operational Bluebird satellite orbiting over USA at 700 kilometers altitude from west to east that lights up a beam cell in and around the valley of Lordsburg Draw in New Mexico near the border of Arizona. I know very little about that particular valley, but Wikipedia tells me nearby Lordsburg had a declining population in the latest census when it fell below 3000 inhabitants, so it should qualify as an example of rural USA. I also know this part of the USA is semi-arid and hot to the extent that cellular coverage and positioning saves lives regularly.
The city of Lordsburg is an testament to the importance of infrastructure as it was founded in1880 on the route of the Southern Pacific Railroad, because of that railroad. And figuratively Lordsburg is the final destination in the movie Stagecoach. Compared to railroads the stagelines were an older preceeding technology.
Let us look at that scene from a distance.
Low earth orbit is fast
Our Bluebird travels with an airspeed of 7,5 km/ second. Passing Texas west tip to its east tip (773 miles) 1244 km in 2.8 minutes it will be back on the same side of the planet again in 1.6 hours. While doing this it plots a projected ground trajectory seen as a faint green line and an actual trajectory in Low earth orbit seen as a yellow line, in figure 2.
This means for our Bluebird that from the time it is directly overhead (blue beam in fig2) to when it passes away from the satellites footprint and the satellite is no longer able to connect (black beam) it is just 3 minutes of time, and then another satellite takes over the job of keeping that particular beamcell connected.
The figures here is Field of view dependent and just my assumptions to a large extent. But AST Spacemobile application states the system is capable to provide service to 58 degrees of boresight (see figure 1). "Nadir" we also call this angle looking straight down on earth. So that is a 116 degree field of view. If you want to visualize that, close one eye as the visual field of one eye spans about the same angle. Another way is to look at the image below. The blac

Hello HobbyDrama. First time poster here. I've been inspired by u/beary_good and their phenomenal write-ups of past drama in the Superhero comics industry. As their posts have largely focused on DC Comics, I didn't want anyone thinking Marvel was immune from massive screw-ups and controversy either. So let me introduce you all to the absolute doozy that is 1980's Avengers #200, the comic that almost destroyed Ms. Marvel, and would be later described by it's own editor as "heinous." But first...
Who is Ms. Marvel?
So let me preface this by saying that this story is not about the current Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American who took over the Ms. Marvel mantle in 2014, and who is, among many things, a teenager. This comic has a lot wrong with it, but forced teenage pregnancy is fortunately not one of those things.
No, we're here to discuss the original Ms. Marvel, Carol Danvers. Introduced in 1968 by Roy Thomas and Gene Colan, Carol was an Air Force pilot who got caught up in the explosion of an alien device. Granted superpowers, she would become Ms. Marvel, in reference to the Kree superhero, Captain Marvel, who saved her life after the explosion. She would go on to get her own short lived solo series in 1977, while making regular appearances in the Avengers and other team books.
Ms. Marvel was hardly Marvel's biggest property, however, and for decades it seemed like the publisher didn't know what to do with her. Her solo books never did too well, and she seemed better suited to staying as part of a team, particularly the Avengers. She would also go through numerous name, power, and costume changes, most famously settling on the one-piece swimsuit that would become her iconic look. In 2012, she assumed the mantle of Captain Marvel, along with a slightly more reasonable costume, and has retained the title ever since. Considering that her MCU debut skipped the "Ms." phase and went straight for the "Captain" moniker, that change is likely to stay.
But through all the ups and downs, she's always had her fans. And there was no down they had to weather worse than the infamous Avengers #200.

... keep reading on reddit ➡First of all, spoilers for current progress of the Mosconi Cup in this post. I just wanted to vent about the dumb shit I see on social media over this year's event.
For those who aren't caught up on the latest drama, we had two major clusterfucks in the 2021 Mosconi Cup. The first is that Earl Strickland was slated to play, but was disqualified at the last minute because UK health officials found out someone on his flight had COVID, and reached out to everyone who might have come in contact.
Europe has rules for situations like this, and generally speaking... if you've been vaccinated, you're not required to do much except follow the usual precautions and make sure you're not showing any symptoms. But if you're unvaccinated, and in a higher risk category, the rules are stricter, you're expected to quarantine for at least 10 days. Earl is 60, and he was the only player out of 10 to not be vaccinated, so he falls under that high risk category. The rules are spelled out on page 7 of this pdf.
Now, I'm sure some people will want to argue about whether these precautions are excessive or not. If you really have to, just remember to keep it polite. At the end of the day, here's what matters: if you go to a foreign country, you have to abide by their laws, whether you agree with them or not. These rules were posted long before anyone got on an airplane for the cup, that PDF wasn't written last week. If I were going to a foreign country, the first thing I'd look up are the covid rules.
Anyway, Earl (understandably!) wasn't happy, and posted a rant where he dropped some news about Billy Thorpe apparently being banned for 2 years due to a failed drug test for weed. He then proceeded to take a left turn and bitch about the WPA. He also claimed he wasn't being compensated but JJ says otherwise. Because this problem was discovered the day before the cup, it was too late to fly in a new player, so Jeremy Jones (the team captain) replaced him. The second crisis happened in one of JJ's matches.
JJ, at age 50, was an underdog against any of the Euros. Fargo rated him 50 points below his opponent, David Alcaide. But he can still play at a high level, and took David to the hill. At 4-4, the balls are tied up, and they engage in a g

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Hello there!
This year, I'm doing a themed bingo square with trans or nonbinary characters in every book. As such, I've spent a lot of time (too much time) compiling books that fit for each square. I had originally intended to post this list after finishing my board with a write-up, but seeing as we are past halfway through the bingo year and I'm on track to finish pretty late, I’ve decided to put this up early so it can hopefully actually be helpful for people still looking to fill their boards.
Books are listed under each category they fit, but I didn’t always check for some of the harder ones (eg. first person, forest setting) if they fit something obvious (eg. published in 2021, cat squasher). Books are sourced from the recommendations thread, the focus thread, the queersff database, readsrainbow, various Goodreads lists, and various threads in other subreddits.
