Played with a new group last night and had a blast. It's interesting to learn how others build decks and interpret the rules and card text.

One player was playing War Machine ally and not taking consequential damage when attacking, believing consequential damage = retaliate, thus War Machine's ranged keyword negated the consequential damage.

The RRG text I can find states "An attack with the ranged keyword ignores the retaliate keyword." So in my view, War Machine would still take consequential damage, but not any specific retaliate damage.

Thoughts? Is there an RRG update I missed that lumps consequential damage and retaliate into the same damage category?

I'm moving out of state and signed a contract with a moving company. Movers were a no-show and the company is not responding to my calls or emails. Fortunately I don't see any charges on the card I provided them, however I had to incur consequential damages as a result of their breaching of contract - car rental, flight change, finding a backup mover, and now possibly an extension of my rental lease, which may amount to $1k not including the cost of finding a different moving service.

The company is located in Georgia and I'm in currently in Virginia. I'm willing catch a layover flight just to show up to their local small claims court.

I've never had to deal with anything like this, so I'm seeking advice here. Is this something I can sue the company over? Is the trouble worth it?

I have just bought marvel champions and trying to play abit to learn the game, now a word CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE comes across.

my ally Mockingbird have the little star under ATK, and rules set says she takes 1 Point of Consequential damage.

What does it do, i have read it in rules, but it does not seems logical for me, so maybe a kind person can break it up in small bits.

Maybe this is a noob question: but does tough protect an ally from con damage?

So, I am in California and I purchased a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta in April of 2017. My car recently had a check engine light so I drove directly to an automotive repair shop. After diagnosing the vehicle they told me the timing chain tensioner had failed and since the timing chain skipped it had destroyed most of the internal components of the engine including shredding the cylinder head. I had it towed to the dealership and they confirmed that ALL of the damage was the result of the faulty timing chain tensioner, a problem of which Volkswagen has apparently been aware since June 2018. Volkswagen is agreeing to pay the dealership to fix the timing chain problem under warranty, but are claiming that I am responsible for replacing the entire cylinder head to the tune of $1850. They say that this was “consequential“ damage and will not be covered under my warranty. But the destroyed cylinder head is a direct result of the faulty timing chain tensioner! The staff at the dealership have been helpful but refuse to advocate for me directly with Volkswagen. I asked if there was any way I could’ve prevented this and they said no. Furthermore, they are saying that VW had no legal obligation to alert me of this issue and that unfortunately the only way Jetta owners have been finding out about the timing chain tensioner is when their engines explode... The only answer they can give me is that Volkswagen is already paying the majority of the repair costs and that they “hate to be the bearer of bad news“. What can I do? I AM BROKE PLEASE HELP ME LOL

I am over 30 have got a huge scar going from the back of my shoulder right under my heart... I had heart sugergy right after birth... In recent years that scar made me quite some problems, ranging from headaches to a tingly feeling in my left toes, from constant pain in my left wrist etc.... what i want to know now is, if there´s any knowledge how scars can influence oneself over the years ..be it physically and psychologically...did anyone ever do long term studies with people who had scars all their lives? and if so what´s the outcome, or where can one find it??

I did it. I punched out after 35 years in corporate life. My journey came with many lessons learned. I would like to share a little of what I learned along the way. My hope is perhaps a nugget or two will be helpful to some on this forum. Most will find these ideas basic and redundant- some will disagree and a few will feel the need to post a snarky comment-post away.

Background. 57 married 35 years, worked for two different fortune 50 companies, professional degree. Net worth high 7 figures. I wanted to fire the minute I graduated from college- more accurately, I wanted to never feel trapped in any employment situation. The term FIRE was not a thing back then, but I did understand that living below my means and learning to invest was the most practical and highest likelihood to achieve my ultimate goals.

1. Investing. Just put it in low cost index funds and leave it along. Seriously if I had done that my net worth would be 8 figures not 7! Just the 20k I lost in silver futures in 1987 would be worth a few hundred thousand today- not to mention the other losses along the way. Avoid fee based financial advisors. If you are smart and motivated enough to be on this board you can do it yourself. That’s it

2. Spending OK I am unique and my wife is the same as I. We don’t derive pleasure from “stuff”. We do enjoy travel and have seen much of the US and a fair amount of the world. When you do buy things do your research and buy quality at a good price. I have enjoyed owning a boat for the past 20 years. I have invested in maintenance and taken great care of it. We drive older cars and maintain them as well. I drive a 20 year old truck.... my friends make fun of me and I don’t give a shit! - but happily give them a ride to the shop to get their Escalades computer worked on. If you care one bit about keeping up with the Jones, you have very little chance of success with FIRE.

3)Kids. If you have kids you should have one goal- they should never want or need any financial assistance from you once they become adults. In fact should you leave them an inheritance it should not be consequential to there well being at all. It is beyond criminal the damage done to kids by overindulgence and entitlement. One of mine went to a Service Academy. He put his pay (and some free Obama money) into a Roth and bought Apple stock (2010). Needless to say he won’t be needing my money.

Question on this card. The text read that a Guardian Character gets a tough status card after taking ANY amount of damage from an attack. Would it be my correct understanding that this means if a Guardian character attacks and gets consequential damage this event can be played?

It's now officially summer, and now that all the children have been released from their creative prisons they are now re-booting the latest Call of Duty and Escape From Tarkov. There are many problems with this little fantasy, before we even get to the actual science and/or mechanics of night vision. These include:

1. The fact that nearly all of these scenarios require detecting and acquiring a threat who possesses a device that can let them see in the darkness passively, an ability which you do not possess.
2. The requirement for you to have not been detected and acquired yourself
3. The fact that anyone wearing NVGs will probably assume that someone attempting to "blind" them during a lawless situation constitutes a serious threat, risking getting your face turned into strawberry jam
4. That you are coping for something you don't own, and that you probably don't have enough 15,000 lumen search lights to cover every inch of your property, or some magical UV death beam.

There is some bizarre understanding by the anti-NV crowd that the militaries of the world created devices that could multiply ambient light by 1,000, then 10,000, then 20,000 (gen 1, 2 and 3) times, yet completely failed to anticipate the possibility of these devices encountering something as simple yet destructive as car headlights or flash lights.

Okay so, story time.. (How I ended up blasting grams year round on top of IV drugs). I had always been interested in muscle building, idolizing guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger from a very young age, but I was a very skinny kid. During the peak of an adderall and heroin addiction, while working at a small town clinic as a custodian, I stumbled upon these boxes in a closet labeled “Pfizer Depot testosterone 200mg”. I didn’t know much about it, but because my dad was on TRT at the time, I knew enough to realize I’d stumbled upon gold. Bit of a moral dilemma here.

My fund manager called me a few months ago and suggested that I increase my risk profile by a few points (per a questionnaire I filled out). I agreed, signed some documents and was under the impression my portfolio had been rebalanced.

As it turns out, they has an admin failure and did not rebalance. The result: my overall position was -£40k on what it would have been if it had been rebalanced per the instructions.
