A list of puns related to "Composing stick"
Just installed Thunderbird 78.5.0 on Linux. Got confronted with this new UI ... and confused. Why change this? Now it's striving for an Outlook-look-a-like. o.O Yikes
Then I wanted to reply to an email. Compose email window appears somewhere on the desktop. As I use the keyboard heavily I just press <Alt> and left-click somewhere in the window. This lets me easily drag the window (on other OS you usually have to hit the window caption). (Using KDE Plasma, btw).
Now start typin'... "f"-"d" email window vanishes!!
Why? Because pressing the <Alt> key got somehow "stuck". Releasing the <Alt> gets unnoticed by Thunderbird. It still waits for the "Hot-Key" to finish. And 'f' --> 'File', 'd' --> 'Send now' in the menu. ==>
I starting to ship a lot of empty emails these days with Thunderbird when starting typing 'f'(rien)'d'. Sorry...
Am I'm the only one around here having this issue? This is new to TB 78.5.0. This did not happen in good old TB 68. What can I do? This really sucks since I use this <Alt>-left-click behaviour throughout the whole desktop with any other app. Without any hassle. But TB is breaking apart... yet another email client going down the gutter. -.-
Making music for years, I have made various types of music including punk, black metal, experimental, shoegaze and heavy electronic music. When composing in ableton, I always set out to follow a structure but always loose structural focus. My question being, is there a trick in setting blocks in place before starting a track? Or do you just go for a session and see where you end up? I ask as it gets somewhat tiresome after years of winging the structure of a song.
As a fan of Scott Joplin, I have read that the reason why he stuck to writing only piano rags was because if he wrote in other genres, they would not sell.
Coming from a black music background, it seems obvious that Joplin wanted to get into the "classical" styles. For instance, there are allegations of lost manuscripts of a Symphony, Concerto, and opera (thankfully the other opera survived).
Is it true that Joplin's ethnicity hindered him from composing in other genres? Something that Gershwin, Copland, or Gottschalk, for instance, could get away with?
Same concept applies to any instruments other than a guitar especially drums.
You just hit the snare whenever you feel like itβs appropriate or groovy
I really want to start writing helm charts instead of docker-compose files to deploy my apps onto single-box machines. We've identified our current bottleneck as step #2:
I'd like to take that middle step out and be able to have the same helm chart used in 'dev', 'test', and 'prod'. Is there a good Kube on a Stick option that hides the complexity of deploying kubernetes on a singe ephemeral box and is at least "Good enough for production, but don't use it in production"? We're just writing apps and helm charts, don't need to become kube experts or replace one bottleneck with another.
Some projects I've run across that I'm hoping to pare down before building PoC's:
Hi
On my PI i'm currently runing HA in docker with a compose file, but i can't seem to get my Zwave AEOTEC stick up and runing

This is the error i get in HA:

... keep reading on reddit β‘It always feel improper composing this way, but it the only way I could actually get good melodies to use and build off of. Like, once I have something that sounds good enough, I just instinctively know what to put to make it sound great. However, I end up not being able to convey the mood that I was aiming for originally.
Does anyone else do this?
Hi guys!
I'm working on a game called Blue Flame and we're looking for someone who could compose music for the game, similar to the style of the Souls games, so orchestral music with a bit of choir.
If you're interested let hit me up with some examples, pricing and payment method here or via email.
Thanks a lot,
Steve
YouTube comment by Mofu Tofu the Great Friend of Fubuki. I hope this post will help Hololive fans in general settle down from all the rumors and give them a broader image of the problem. This comment was very informative despite being a comment among a sea of flames, and it has worded everything so much better than I did. It really deserves to have an archived post somewhere (instead of being lost in a sea of comments), so people can share it for future reference. I pray that this post will not age badly.
Mofu Tofu the Great Friend of Fubuki:
I would like to add some information and data of interest ~ All this information and data are official, supported by what Coco said, the other girls and real events, also data supported by reliable sources, I mean, none of this came from 4Chan, Narukami and Antis.
π She already gave the main reason why she graduated and it has nothing to do with the Chinese Antis (It is not the main reason rather), IF she had some small problem with Cover, but she stressed SMALL PROBLEM, it is not serious and She is on good terms with Cover, it was just a disagreement between her and Cover. (Coco in a members-only Stream, buy the membership and support Coco).
π This decision was made by herself. No one is convincing her or Cover is firing her.
π Coco made this decision a long time ago. (Stream for members only)
π Suisei in a recent Stream said that Cover/Hololive had asked and insisted that Coco not make the decision to withdraw. (https://youtu.be/D_UMh2CVgHU , https://youtu.be/JBGJFqWfbEs )
π Mio tried to convince him not to withdraw, but in the end he gave up and I respect Coco's decision. (https://youtu.be/kRPqgzu7iGs , https://youtu.be/pvPk-IiXYRc )
π Until her graduation day comes around, she will be streaming and collaborating with several of the girls. (...)
π She doesn't think Cover/Hololive is an evil company, there are a lot of false rumors about this. . (There are only conspiracy theories about this)
π Fubuki mentioned that if Coco was treated unfairly and fired from her, she would withdraw herself. (Fubuki a few months ago when the Taiwan-China accident happened. )
π Coco is featured on Hololive Alternativ
... keep reading on reddit β‘I'm writing what is essentially a cadenza in the middle of a piece (i.e. unaccompanied show-off section) and just curious how composers used to relate their cadenzas to the rest of their composition. Was it an opportunity for shredding or more like an extremely elaborated development of content from the rest of the piece?
