A list of puns related to "Complications of prolonged standing"
Iβve had this minor back issue for about a month now and and in the last week Iβve started a new job that requires me to be on my feet for 9 hours a day which Iβm not normally used to and since Iβve started the back pain has gotten a lot worse tends to ease a little after a nights sleep then gets much worse about half way through the day
I can't live like this much longer. Maybe they're thrombosed or something?? It just feels like constant inflammation down there and my bowel movements aren't even hard or painful. I don't get it but I feel so trapped and it's Fucking up my career.
Hey, I'm an 18 year old Product Design student from the UK, and I am looking to create a product to help relieve the pain caused by prolonged standing. Filling in this short questionnaire will help me make more informed design decisions. Thank you!
I have moderate arthritis, mainly in my knees. Plus a few other pain issues. I function well, day to day - just slow. If Iβm cooking or cleaning, for example, I take breaks to get off my my feet.
I signed up to volunteer for an art exhibit at a local museum, for extra credit in my class. Itβs 3 hrs leading tours. Iβm already a little nervous, thinking Iβll take lots of ibuprofen and power through it.
Is there anything else I can do beforehand to prep for an afternoon of walking and standing?
Hi.
I transitioned to barefoot a year ago. started with VFF which I now use mostly for walking\running, and have only minimalists shoes for everyday.
At the begging my feet sore frequently. I took my time and made the transition gradually. after few months I felt pain only after long walking (nature hiking for couple of hours).
Now, I thought I am completely used to barefoot, and haven't felt pain for months. Until I started a course about some archeological and religious sites, which require being on foot for hours - mostly standing. I got fatigued quickly from the standing, and at the end of every day of the course my feet is very sore.
Is it normal that one that is regular to walk more than 10K steps each day barefoot will find it very difficult just standing for 20 minutes?
And what can I do to overcome this? It has been more than 5 tour days and I dont feel it getting better.
BTW I tried one day using my old insole (quite expensive, I liked them before being barefoot), and it helped a lot with the feet fatigue
I feel so sick when standing for too long, like even 30 minutes will make me feel like I might pass out. But I've also worked in retail before and I can grow immune to it, suddenly able to stand 8 hours no problem. But then if i don't do it regularly, the sick feeling comes back just as bad as before. It feels wrong to assume this is some kind of medical issue or disease when it literally goes away if I practice standing lol.

I currently work as a cashier at a convenience store, and as a result, am generally on my feet for around seven to eight hours a day, four to five days a week. I am not experiencing any concerning symptoms at this time, but I have been told that should I continue this type of work for an extended period, such as several years, I may begin to develop adverse health conditions such as varicose veins, spider veins and deep vein thrombosis. I made this topic in order to inquire about the validity of that claim, as well as methods that can be used to decelerate the progression of such conditions. Could compression socks be a solution?
